  1. Many have called to ask for the extra point. Some have reported it being added and receiving an invoice showing the LATDBLX promo. I called, was told that it was added, but a later invoice still showed LATITUDE. I don't trust that. I cancelled and rebooked several 2023 cruises to have invoices that actually indicated LATDBLX. There was one that I couldn't because NCL had transitioned to the "guarantee" booking for the cabin category I wanted and it was a B2B so I didn't want to lose the room. That will be my test case, but I'm not optimistic. It really doesn't matter because I'm past that meaningful Platinum threshold, and most future level upgrades don't mean very much.
  2. It's a shame that Mexico is such a big mess. I don't think anybody is fully in control down there, and that really makes me nervous. Things can literally change overnight in that type of environment, and an area that never had a problem can become a huge mess tomorrow. If I can't be comfortable getting off the boat, then why sail there? Unfortunately, it sounds like Jamaica is in the same boat now.
  3. I always book steerage. Why don't you think I'm "dignified?" ETA: do you consider "balconies" the rock bottom?
  4. Well, if I paid five times more than I needed to in order to have an enjoyable vacation, you can darned well bet I would take every opportunity to brag about it! (disclaimer: I gave up bragging in elementary school when I figured out that it wasn't impressing anybody and more likely to result in unintended consequences 🤣)
  5. I can't answer most of your questions. One of the first things I do when I get on the ship is to check if the DB has Guinness on tap (I've been two for three recently). Last cruise, I had to crash a Muster check in. The guys asked if I was checking in, and I told them "no, I just want to see if there is Guinness on tap." They were amused (I think, sometimes hard to tell....) Happy ending. The Guinness was there the entire cruise (they ran out the prior cruise, may have been my fault). Beyond that, beer choices weren't an issue. 😎
  6. Now you've got me curious. My kids are way too old for kids club and my grandkids are likely years away. What exactly do kids like about the kids club?
  7. Isn't everything outside of the Haven steerage? 🤣 That asked, Platinum steerage passengers (I know a guy....) can also book 125 days out. But seriously, what a refreshing thread. Legit question fully answered in two posts.😎
  8. This may come as a shock, but I've been around sheep, and most of them seem to be quite happy! Dumb? Absolutely. But they do have a way of enjoying the pasture that other beasts might be able to learn from.
  9. Classics. All of them. We come here to learn, but we return for the entertainment. 🤣
  10. Thanks. That's NCL for ya'. It does make me nervous when they do things contrary to their T&C's, because we never know when they won't. I'm planning to buy two CNs on my next cruise to apply to future cruises. This is as a test so that I can learn how it will really work for me. 😎
  11. Small kids can be annoying at times. Teenagers can be annoying at times. College kids can be annoying at times. 😬 We all can be annoying at times. I vote to just relax and enjoy whatever cruise we're on! 😎
  12. Hey look!!! There's a new SALE! It's the "New Year's Preview Sale." But hurry, it ends in 8 hours and 50 minutes! 😬
  13. I wasn't commenting on the 120 days. I was quoting what NCL says about NOT being able to use it on a cruise you have already booked, even if you cancel and rebook.
  14. Norwegian Cruise Line - Promotions Terms and Conditions (ncl.com) CruiseFirst certificates are valid for new reservations ONLY that book and sail within 3 years of original certificate purchase date. Voyage date must be more than 120 days from original purchase date. Not applicable towards canceled/rebooked reservations. If a guest with an existing reservation cancels and rebooks the same ship and sail date with a CruiseFirst certificate, the additional value of the CruiseFirst certificate will be removed.
  15. Not me. I get my ice water in the OL/buffet and am perfectly capable of pulling the sheets and blanket down to get in bed. Even after taking full advantage of the PBP.
  16. How did I forget to include dress codes?! Those things are GREAT!!
  17. There's an old humorous question, "what does a dog do on his day off?" I think it extends to this scenario. If you live on a cruise ship, where do you go for vacation?🤣 (I know you were just kidding)
  18. My favorite topics are the first hand reviews of cruises as they are being sailed (e.g. @YVRteacher's entertaining reports, including her father's latest complaints). Tipping, DSC, Coke vs. Pepsi, "is it or isn't it a sale," etc. threads just provide filler and, on occasion, some comic relief.
  19. I would probably have excused myself to use the restroom and reported the problem at the front desk. I believe that they would have taken care of it.
  20. Are you sure about this? " CruiseFirst certificates are valid for new reservations ONLY that book and sail within 3 years of original certificate purchase date. Voyage date must be more than 120 days from original purchase date. Not applicable towards canceled/rebooked reservations. If a guest with an existing reservation cancels and rebooks the same ship and sail date with a CruiseFirst certificate, the additional value of the CruiseFirst certificate will be removed." 21. Yep. You explained it better than I would have. 😎 I didn't answer the question because it would be like a Ford truck owner trying to explain to the Chevy truck owner why his choices are wrong. Or, more relevant to this sub-forum, why Coke is not the better strategy. I do miss the good Casino threads that come up from time to time. 🤣
