  1. Thanks. That makes sense. I generally don't gamble, because I worked for my money. I will play slots if there are true penny slots on board. They're hard to find. I found four on the Encore. I found zero on the Joy. I had to put a dollar into each machine to see what the "real" minimum bet was. I finally just gave up at a fifty cent machine and decided to just make two minimum bets. The literal first bet paid off a couple bucks, so I cashed out and collected my "winnings" at the cashier. I think I tripled my money gambling that cruise. Who can beat that? 😎
  2. Pill bottles or even written prescriptions mean absolutely nothing. Scenario A: I have Lisinopril in an unmarked container. Scenario B: I have "some pills" in a prescription Lisinopril bottle with my name on it. Which one is acceptable? It doesn't matter because the only thing that matters is the actual shape/size/marking on each pill. I can put highly illegal drugs in a Statin prescription bottle and it doesn't mean that I'm not going to spend a while in jail. Nobody cares if I have actual statin pills in my pocket, hat, shoes, etc. I'm not breaking any laws. Does anybody really think that the over-worked policing folks have time to bust people for taking Statins without a prescription? What would be the penalty for that one? A talking to? 🤣 Sure, if it's a controlled substance, I had better have proof that it has been prescribed for me. I just don't think that is what most here are talking about.
  3. Are these the ones that can only be purchased on board and expire after four years?
  4. Since you now only do land vacations and non-NCL cruises, then why do you come on here?
  5. Well, since 95/100 is a fraction, I won't argue with you. Seriously, if you take all things into consideration, I don't think than NCL's final costs for a cruise with booze and specialty dining and some Shorex subsidies have gone up any meaningful amount since pre-Covid.
  6. What does the end of the year have to do with anything? Prepayment isn't required until 24 hours prior to the cruise to receive a smaller historical rate.
  7. Are you sure about that? Google maps currently shows 37 minutes.
  8. Count your blessings. She came out at the end of shows on our last sailing and expected us to sit and listen to her even though the show was over and we were ready to move out. Don't blame a cruise ship for math. Math always wins (i.e the house always wins).
  9. I don't believe that the Brew House is open that early.
  10. Good for you. I've also observed lines of taxis where none of them are suitable for three adults plus their luggage.
  11. My steerage cabins are usually ready before I'm done eating lunch.
  12. Did you adjust for time in port when making all of the comparisons? That would be a lot of work.
  13. It probably all depends upon the Taxi. If I call an Uber or Lyft XL, I know that I'll get a vehicle that fits three adults plus luggage (forget what they publish about 5). Taxis may vary and having to take two cabs would negate any price advantages.
  14. That was what I expected. That said, after I posted that I looked at my next cruise. It still shows the pre-April 2022 DSC ($15.50) even though I repriced it after April 2022.
  15. I have a lot of future cruises booked. I'm curious what will happen with the DSC if I reprice after Jan 1 2023. I'll likely find out soon enough.
  16. I don't sit at the bar either, so slightly prefer the Joy's "walk up" configuration. Of course, it doesn't really make any difference.
  17. Yep. And I think a lot of us just focus on final cost and ignore all of the various line items that go into it.
  18. I think we walked out of it twice (two different cruises). We gave it a second chance because we had somebody traveling with us who had not seen it.
  19. Which leads to the unsolvable debate of how much of the delta between sail-away and "normal" is for the "free" beverage package (and other perks) and how much is for the ability to actually choose your cabin of choice. It will never be solved. For those times I book insides, I absolutely want to be able to select my cabin (i.e. ones without unneeded beds hanging off of the walls).
  20. I often notice them showing sold out, even on newly released itineraries. Do you realize that you can book a "normal" FAS cabin and opt out of the beverage package?
