  1. Did you check the full history on CruisePlum? You might reach some different conclusions.
  2. I'm curious how the propulsion works on a tender. Is it possible that the operator had put it into full throttle in "reverse" to try NOT to hit the side of the ship? Picture reverse thrusters on an airliner. You didn't really mean "full speed," did you? That would very likely have resulted in much worse consequences.
  3. Probably varies by port. The last time I remember was Seattle where Haven and special needs were all shuffled to the same special line on the right.
  4. Nine out of nine of my booked cruised before final payment dropped. Contrary to popular belief, NCL does sometimes offer meaningful promos.
  5. Covid has caused a lot of us to "waste" money. I still have four pristine eMED proctored tests that I bought "just in case" my local CVS ran out of tests, etc. That's $140 I'll never see again.... Of course, the silver lining is that it was insurance I never needed. Just like fire insurance. Better to just pay it and NOT have my house burn down. 😎
  6. I think that the thanks go to all the travelers who called BS on the old requirements and were planning alternate itineraries. Funny how that works.
  7. This is the first time I have heard of this. Really? We have mixed/matched specialty and platinum many times, and never an issue. Are you really planning to show up for dinner with a copy of the T&C's in order to battle the tizzied?
  8. Don't priority access folks jump ahead of the normal boarding group numbers?
  9. You'll have several dining options and, they're all great! We usually do the Local, more out of tradition than anything else. I'm sure somebody will post an exhaustive list, but they typically include the Local (or O'shehans), one of the main dining venues and the buffet.
  10. Aren't special needs folks also entitled to join that "special" lane? (i.e. special needs peasants in steerage)
  11. Are you talking about a gift shop manager or a maintenance shop manager?
  12. I'm guessing that you never lived in a college dorm? (the old school ones, not the upscale ones at some of today's most prestigious/expensive schools)
  13. Didn't you get the free laundry and two extra specialty dinners? That's not a "joke" to many of us.
  14. I'll go on record as saying that I think the whole "behind the scenes tour" thing is dumb. It is likely disruptive to those trying to cook, do laundry, etc. and I just can't see it being much fun (disclosure: I've never tried to attend one). Probably like those ask-questions-about-the-ship things in the theatre where there is inevitably some clown near the front with a long list of questions intended to show the crew on stage and the audience how smart they are. If I wanted that, I would go back to Megacorp and attend staff meetings.
  15. Is that the same price as a single balcony or two insides? (obviously rhetorical question - some folks budget and pay for luxury, others just need a place to sleep, shower and 💩)
  16. Yep. It's like those chocolate covered strawberries. DW eats one and then we have to figure out how to get rid of the leftover.
  17. On many itineraries, two insides cost no more than one balcony. OP was planning on a balcony.
  18. This is the worst kept secret in this realm. After too-many-to-count reports of how great the fillet was at LeBistro, and recent bad steak experiences at Ocean Blue and Cagneys, we bit the fillet-bullet and tried LeBistro a few weeks ago. The fillet was so great that I had to do it again a few nights later. 😎
  19. Same here. First time poster reporting some magical call from NCL to rain down some manna. It just doesn't happen like that.
  20. So why not just book it now and get a reprice in the event that there's a lower price on black Friday (or any Friday, or whenever)?
  21. I've been told the same thing by some agents, yet one of the price drops we processed today was the second reprice for that booking. It's irrelevant in most cases, since I can just make a new booking at a lower price and cancel the original at any time prior to final payment. If the price drops, I'm locking it in before they change their minds. That said, we can't rule out the possibility that somebody at NCL got the cart before the horse this time and the prices will be higher very soon (e.g. midnight eastern tonight).
