Maybe you should check out HAL. They do that route from Montreal in June.

That's a new itinerary for them next year from Montreal with new stops at the little French owned island of St Pierre et Miquelon and Eastport, ME. They also have an 11 day sail right after this one on July 1 that goes roundtrip from Boston with some same stops and adding two stops in Newfoundland at Corner Brook and St. Johns.

Bar Harbor has way to much to see than the 6-8 hours you get via cruise ship. It’s a tender port by life boats and can be a huge pain in the A$$. We camp in Bar Harbor every year and decided not to this past year as it’s so populated. Acadia National Park is one of the most grown populated parks in the nation and reservations are now required. This is why the locals are fighting the ships, it’s over populated from land visitors. I would encourage folks to fly to Boston and road trip it through Maine all the way to Nova Scotia if you want a true experience. If you want to say you have been there, sure a cruise works! Quebec City is also an awesome destination with many things to see. For a cruise itinerary, it’s an awesome one that will want you to go back and visit for days.

As a fellow New Englander I agree with you that there is plenty to see not just in these six states but the Canadian provinces above us. I have visited those provinces many times not only on cruise ships but also by car either directly or by using the CAT Ferry and other ferries that can take you and your car to them.

Doesn’t look like you get much more river time than NOLA though. At least not while you’re awake. Get to that last port at 8am and leave 6pm. Maybe if you leave out of Quebec City. Then you have two evenings.

The only main line that still does the 7 day run all the way to Montreal and then 7 days back to Boston is Holland America Line(HAL)and they have been doing that quite successfully for over two decades. They only have two ships left that can get under the bridges to Montreal, the Zaandam and Volendam, after Carnival Corporation sold off two of their other even smaller ships(Maasdam and Veendam)during the early days of Covid in 2020. Over the years many people, especially New Englanders and Atlantic province Canadians have taken those 7 day cruises at least one way if not b2b. HAL starts that run usually in early May and runs it until late July when the ship does a 24 day cruise to Greenland and Iceland from Boston. A larger ship the Zuiderdam also leaves Boston in mid summer for the very popular 35 day Voyage of the Vikings which goes over to northern Europe and back. Then that ship sails up to Quebec City from Boston for a few 7 day sailings with an overnight in QC before both ships usually head back to Florida for the winter in mid to late October. The runs to Montreal and QC are reasonably priced(for HAL)but the longer voyages are $$. HAL's strong points are its itineraries, service, and food, but entertainment and activities especially on the smaller ships and shorter cruises falls short imho.

NCL one way is what I have been looking at. And take a day or two in Quebec

Here are some pics of Old Quebec City I took on a cruise stop there last year with HAL. When you get to the archway gates of the old city the new city and Hilton awaits you. 😏

I’m just taking that little stretch between the gulf and Quebec City. It doesn’t look very far. There is a port stop in between so maybe they drag their feet.

Yes I'm sure some of the Captains and officers like it too because at least for a day or two they can relax some and not have to contend with the power of the oceans.

It doesn't look very far. Or is that entire Gulf area considered the river?

The river itself is 740 miles long from the east end of Lake Ontario to the Cape Gaspe peninsula. From there it empties into the 500 mile long Gulf of St. Lawrence.

    New Orleans as well.

True but the cruises from NOLA only take about 8 hours to reach the ocean. The cruises down the St Lawrence Seaway to QC and Montreal usually are two full days or more and calm sailing.

Princess also cruises from Boston and has it as a port stop out of NYC. I'm going to do one of the ones out of Boston at some point. Maybe one of the one way Quebec City ones when I have more vacation days to play with. For next year date, ship, price...this one worked better for me. I get back on a Sunday when the Mets are in town so it'll probably be a 1pm game I can catch and still have the evening free.

  9. Here is Katy Perry's complete pre-game performance from earlier today in front of 100,000+ Aussies at the AFL (Australian Football League) Grand Final (their Super Bowl) held at the MCG in Melbourne, Australia. She is one of only two performers to appear as the headliner at the two major sporting events (Sting is the other), and has also recently performed at the Kings Coronation and a Presidential Inauguration and owns 13 Grammys. Taylor who??

No one seems to stop in Boston anymore. NCL does sail from there. 😎

Both NCL and HAL use Boston as homeport in the summer/fall season and for an occasional port stop. Overall Boston port stops are limited to a few by RCCL and Princess in the fall, and some more by higher end lines like Azamara, Crystal, Cunard, Silversea, and Windstar.

So, for the last week, 13 customer service reps, probably 20+ hours on the phone, I've gone 12 rounds with Apple Store, Apple Support, Apple billing and on and on, to try to get a billing issue rectified.

Not a lot of money (~$250), but as the saying goes, it's "not the money but the principle".  It's really about the money, too.

Not going to get knuckle deep on the details, but Apple charged me for Apple Care Plus, which I didn't order, and kept doing so, no matter how many times I told them to stop. Every month when the charge shows up, I contest it.  The next month, it shows up again.

I'm not sure if their personnel are inept, or they screw you while being polite over the phone?

Just spent another 90 minutes on the phone with them with a PROMISE to have this rectified and a fund issued by Saturday.  Not sure why it will take that long.  As such, my confidence isn't high that it's going to be "fixed".

We've all been there and done this and can fill in the title with the name of whatever service or company that we've done it with...

I would have thought you would at least have gone in and check out their collection which they have to keep under armed guard. 😏

    That’s what she said

Well the options for fixing it appear to be either sticking it in a bowl of iced water or wrapping it in aluminum foil. I wonder what she would say about that? 🤔

Good observation! I thought the same thing when I first saw it actually, but then I figured maybe he was going to take a siesta across the back seat after eating. 😴

I'm going to eat and drink whatever looks good no matter what the cost, because in the greater scheme of things, what's the difference anyway? Another credit card bill? Whatever...

Go for it @sid_9169!! Just don't invest in lots of baby oil and lube. Oh and who had Fiddy in the draft as the heir apparent to the throne? 😏

I hadn’t heard about that. I guess they only have four then if he left. I hadn’t  heard a peep about him since he got fleet cd. The only fleet cd I’ve seen or heard anything about was Mike Pack was on my Venezia TA last year.

Mike was on the Firenze inaugural too back in April helping with Joey B's christening of the new ship. Mike's a great guy.

Good morning Tribe Family! Today we will be in Sydney, Nova Scotia. We've never been here before, but we didn't see any excursions that interested us, so we'll just get off and explore the town. The temps should reach 70 today so that's good. Back to shorts! Have a great Tuesday everyone! 😎

Sydney, NS still has that small town feeling with locally owned shops and some history mixed in. The old Bank of Montreal building is now a free local museum and the book store has a couple of fat cats hanging out with the customers. I hope you and Patti enjoy your visit.

    What was your final tally?

Started with $12,148 investment which gave you $14,000 to play with in the casino

Did you bring home all $14,000? Or more?

Plus you had a free cruise and some comped meals!

I’m bringing home $14,000 but I charged I think $4000 against my credit card

In "real speak" this means he lost another shirt again, but apparently has more.😏
