Nope, we always show up at about 10:30 and boarding is usually starts just after we get to our seats in the waiting area.

If aerodynamic efficiency was important, they would have eliminated balconies from the suite cabins and made a lot of changes to the top deck. In any case, it looks like the new CEO has decided that aerodynamic efficiency isn't as important as satisfying customer preferences.

It still amazes me that Celebrity designed a new class of ships and eliminated the most common type of cabin without understanding customer preferences. The love-hate relationship with IV balconies was obvious after the early sailings on the Edge but the previous CEO failed to recognize the issue and make any changes to other E-class ships. I guess her ego was too large to admit she had made a huge mistake.

If you are going way back, do you remember when aircraft seats had ashtrays and there were smoking section on aircraft?

Mee too. I had the same experience. I don't even consider the Sea View area as an area that I would spend some time. The secondhand smoke often affects the entire area.

I'll be interested in the solution. The IV balconies used the outside area to develop a larger interior cabin. if you truly replace the IV balcony with a real balcony, one solution would be a cabin with a compromised interior. The other solutions would be a much smaller balcony or larger balcony cabins similar to a junior suite on Royal Caribbean. We'll see.

At least she admitted that the IV balconies were a polarizing feature and not a good fit for some cruisers. She indicated the next E-class ship should address that issue. It will be interesting to see what they will do.

Thanks. We were on the Rotterdam in August and I spent a fair amount of time walking around the track and I don't seem to remember seeing those type of flat head devices but I look forward to the results of your search. Thanks

Thanks, now we know what to look for on the other ships. Perhaps someone currently on the Rotterdam can take a picture of this area on the ship. This looks like these are located on the track near the sliding opening above the pool.

I don't claim to be a technical buff either, but I seem to remember a picture the Celebrity Edge when they were rolling out Starlink and they showed a picture of some hardware mounted on top of the ship. Maybe it was just fluff, or maybe I was duped (not the first time) or maybe my memory is failing me (again not the first time) but I thought perhaps some technical guru might know something.

Does Starlink have a unique antenna that we look for on the ships to confirm the statements on Starlink?
