We have a rental from MCO and drop off at the Mullet Road location. Renting with Alamo. I believe that is close to the port. We are sailing Royal caribbean Adventure of the Seas on 11/24. Is there a shuttle to the port from that location?

Will there be any restaurants open the evening of Thanksgiving? We are staying at the Home2 Suites near the port.

I don’t know if is up & running. It is not in my cruise planner for my upcoming cruise in February 2024 on Oasis. When are you cruising?
Is it in your planner? We reserved it for November so it must be. 4 of us.

I'd like to take a video coming down the Dragons Breath zipline. I ziplined before and know it's a good idea to hold on. Any experiences with anything to hold your phone to record?

What would you recommend getting to record yourself going down the Dragon's Breath Zip Line. Don't want to lose my phone coming down. What experiences did you have?

We have a Chevy Bolt EUV and are able to drive to the port in Fort Lauderdale in a couple of hours. The challenge is that we would need to charge before returning home and that may take several hours.
Has anyone figured out a solution to have your vehicle charge while you are on the cruise?
Get a normal gas powered car

In the planner, yes, those purchases must be finalized 2+ days out.
Does the sale ever start early to your knowledge?

I've seen from some on here that the Black Friday Sales are the best of the year. Problem is our ship leaves on Black Friday November 24th of this year. Would it be too late to reserve something the morning of? I'm specifically looking at the zipline in Labadee. We aren't getting the alcohol pkg. We all don't drink alot, just here and there and I have around $500 on board credit we'll use for drinks, etc.

Took a Lyft last month from Port Canaveral to a hotel near MCO. It was $69.48 and took 40 minutes. Pick up was at 7:30am. It’s easier to get the ride from the Holiday Inn across the street rather than the congested port area.
I don't want to sound stupid but honestly I've never used a Lyft or Uber. When do you book a ride? The morning of or can you prebook like before a cruise. We have an 11 am flight from MCO and trying to find quickest way to get there.

Staying at this hotel on Thanksgiving night before our cruise leaves Black Friday. What will be open and nearby to this hotel on Thanksgiving night, as in restaurants?

Received an email outlining new terms in the Royal Caribbean Cruise Contact for USA passengers. New terms go into effect today, 4/12. In the section about Covid, I read this:
(4) mandatory use by each Passenger (except where medically contraindicated) of face coverings in most locations outside of the Passenger’s cabin while onboard, during embarkation, disembarkation and shore excursions; (5) mandatory social distancing of Passengers at any/all times while on board and during embarkation, disembarkation, and shore excursions
Do we really need to wear masks all the time on board now??? I postponed this cruise twice to get beyond this type of restriction. Has it returned??
I have no problem with the testing and would happily show my vaccine card if required. But I don't want to lay out in the sun by the pool with a mask over my face!
They can stuff their face diapers I'm not wearing one.

@msufan90 I’m so sorry. I’m just now seeing this. We always just get a regular car. The only place we’ve gone that’s bumpy is getting to the old natural bridge. Everywhere else is roads.
@Ravensfan1973 Ours was automatic but I don’t know for sure that all of them are. If none of you can drive standard, I’d maybe call the company just to verify beforehand.
Sorry I meant nobody knows how to drive a manual transmission. Hopefully it will be automatic. I'll definitely call before we depart the states.

We've cruised 9 times but never did this and never really thought of if it's any advantage. Thinking of doing it on our next cruise.

If you bring more than 12 bottles of soda and water are they really going to turn it away? I've read it depends on the port that they just let it slide? Any examples of this? And also does the freestyle machines have water to refill bottles and sports bottles we bring on?

We were just in Aruba on a cruise for Spring Break and rented a car from Smart Car Rentals (https://www.aruba-car-rental.com/). I had done some research on this board before going and know that a lot of people ask about rental car companies so I just wanted to share our experience.
When I was researching, I just stumbled across the Smart Car Rental website and it let me make a reservation without any kind of deposit. I wasn't sure what to expect when we got there (because it seemed a little sketchy since the site didn't take a deposit) but it was great. The guy met us at the entrance to the port (he had a sign with our name on it) and we just had to walk over to the next parking lot, filled out the paper work, paid him and we were off. So easy. We told him what time we wanted to return it and he met us in the lot at that time. I'd definitely rent from them again next time we go.
I just made a rental from your recommendation. Hope it goes smoothly. Did you have an automatic transmission? Nobody in our party knows how to drive one. Thanks for the review.

Rented a car for the day for our November cruise on Adventure of Seas. I've been in Aruba once but like 17 years ago. Need a good itinerary to explore. We'd like to see the lighthouse and a good beach or two. What do you recommend for about 7 or 8 hours? TIA

I paid $48.99 for it last Black Friday!
Wow, that's a great price. I'll have to check then our morning of departure. Hopefully there will a time left to do it since it will be 2 days before.

What is lowest price you've seen for this? I've noticed so far that $88.99 is lowest I've seen and been following for a couple months now. We cruise in November, actually depart on Black Friday. Will there be a black friday sale?

Because you are the only one that loves sailing out of SJ!
Didn't need a smartass answer. Maybe you like going to the same islands all the time. We do not. Move along

I just saw this thread and wasn't reading all the pages but wondered if Rhapsody is the only ship sailing out of San Juan in early 2025? If so, why? Should at least have a Voyager class ship sailing out of there. We love sailing out of SJ

We sail on adventure in November. My son is a geography whiz and he was wondering after we leave Labadee and head to Aruba will we be going between Cuba and Jamaica or go the other way and go between Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico to get there. I'm sure someone has done this route and would know. TIA
