  1. I was reading about the Tracy Arm trip from Juneau and how being in a small boat close to the glacier is amazing and you also have great wildlife opportunities. Does anyone know if they offer this for the Encore? We are only in Juneau 230-11. Do they stop and let anyone out for the one way early that day? Do they have time for the full round trip? Or- do they offer small boat options inside Glacier Bay for that “at sea” Glacier viewing day?
  2. We are looking at harv and Marv for our family of 8. Did you book the private tour or the one with others? Trying to decide which way to do it. We would also like to go to the glacier and do the short walk to nugget falls but Harv and Marv said they won’t do a combo even if private. Did anyone combo it themselves and if so how did that go?
  3. We have a family of 8 and I’m debating between a private tour with Harv and Marv to see the whales vs. cruise ship tour that combines whale watching with the glacier visitor center / can hike to Nugget falls. Thoughts? I know cruise tour will be more crowded but Harv and Marv said they can’t do a combo to do it on our own- and not sure how to do that. Or I love the idea of the Tracy Arm trip! I hear seeing Glacier from a small boat is great and you also have high likelihood of whales and other wildlife. We don’t arrive in Juneau until 230 but stay till 11…. I’ve heard some ships do a one way trip where they drop you at Tracy arm off the side of the ship onto the small boat and then you meet them in Juneau later- anyone know if that’s an option with NCL Encore? It’s too far out for them to post our excursions (May 2024)
  4. What website are you all using? Looking for the February docking plans to see if we will likely miss or make it on the Escape Feb 11th sailing (13th currently scheduled for Puerto Plato)
  5. Does the escape have the dueling pianos?
  6. Ok now I really missed this part- so as an adult I have the open bar package but I’ll have to pay for each soda? Edit to add- just saw this on my reservation - soda included (Ps I’m looking at adding Mom she isn’t on yet) Unlimited Open Bar Package Includes a selection of beverages by the glass (premium cocktails, beer and wine up to $15) as well as unlimited soda, juices, and one 6-liter case of Flow water (exclusions apply) Click Here for details
  7. I’m sorry if I missed this but here goes- if you have 3 adults over 21 in a cabin and 1 child… (looking at a 2 bedroom suite with my Mom coming with us). I know guest 1&2 get the free at Sea but what about the 3&4? Does adult #3 get anything? Child doesn’t get sodas you have to pay for that package right?
  8. Thank you! I immediately called my PCC as the 1-800 number says they are closed. He just called me back and said this was a BIG deal and was seconds from being canceled ( our cruise is sold out so that would be very bad). He said this is a computer error as the charge is the exact amount as our air and thinks it’s because they have been in the reservation trying to fix it. Luckily I saw this just in the ap playing. He was able to call the emergency line he has and get it fixed . We now owe $0 but I am paranoid it may happen again as they are still working on fixing the air mistake.
  9. This just happened to me- Cruise is past final payment and has been paid in full for sometime: logged onto app to look at shore excursions and now it says I have a final payment of $696 due! Any ideas? We have paid for everything including our gratuities and shore excursions. We have been waiting on the air department to correct their mistake - they admitted it was their mistake and said they would correct it- they accidentally booked the wrong date flying home. They said I would get an email with the corrected flight. Still haven’t. I have no intention of paying this fee as I have receipts that I’ve paid everything in full.
  10. Yep- me too… or at least know who to go ask. I know some say don’t worry they won’t charge but I don’t want to deal with the maybe / maybe not.
  11. I agree- it’s not there for our 12 year old either. I’m guessing on day 1 you can buy the package from the bar?
  12. We had a group we met on this website many years ago- we toured Europe/Egypt together at many stops. We were in an aft suite and our butler saw us meeting with them often to head off to an excursion or dinner. He asked if we would like to have them over one sea day for a little get together. He put together some snack trays and pitchers of water/ tea for us. He also sent them invitations. It was really nice. Our butler was “T” as he told us to call him. It was our first time in a suite and he was the best butler we have ever had. Really alway offering to do more for us and yet never intrusive. He didn’t charge us anything extra to do the little party and of course we tipped him at the end of the trip.
  13. I agree- I would imagine they are harder to set up than put away? Maybe they will do the service as a turn down and not clean in the morning? The you just have to put it away? Humm
  14. If it were me I’d decide the max I can spend and think the room is worth to me- then do a mock booking- if it’s in range call and buy an upgrade now rather than waiting on a lower bid. I definitely wouldn’t get in a competition and lose sight of my bottom line or the value to me.
  15. What cruise are you bidding on? Is it a highly popular week?
  16. I love that you all are going with it and still having a blast! When we sail from New York at Christmas time we always find lots to do on our couple days before embarking. I can imagine between being allowed off to do extra sightseeing and also all the fun of the ship- it’s still a great trip. Hope the seas calm down and warmer weather is ahead.
  17. It’s too late to drop for my current sailing in Feb- but I’m planning to drop off my 2024 sailing as we get closer and I can shop the air myself.
  18. Yep, it’s actually still a part of the current sale- but I get it because you can no longer add the air perk to new bookings that are that close. So to NCL that’s one reason they can drop the prices because they won’t be having to give the air promo and that cheap price. That’s why I said, for me- it’s another reason I’m considering removing the air from my future bookings. Our next sailing with NCL after this is Alaska in 2024 and I feel that’s a further flight for us- so the issues I’m having with such a short flight this time (ie them booking completely the wrong day) could potentially get multiplied . For me the possibility of a price drop is only a small part of the equation. Was just sharing information so others may benefit from it in the future.
  19. They told me no FCC or OBC due to price drop because we chose to use the airfare with them. I’m unhappy with the airfare so far, as they have booked us to go home 6 days after we were supposed to go home and still haven’t fixed it. Not super upset about not getting credit due to the price drop- but it will be yet another reason we will probably drop the airfare off our future bookings—- the biggest being the lack of control (even over the date we fly) but the price drop being a small contributor. FYI our PCC says it’s no price drop calculated for FCC/OBC or anything after 75 days if air thru NCL and 14 days if no air thru NCL.
  20. We did a paid upgrade (not a bid- changed our mind and paid to move to new room) and at first if you logged into bids it did as you described. After about a day- when logging into app it said Let’s get you upgraded in a message- when clicking that the bids had changed and were now from the new stateroom. We did not bid as we picked exactly what we want.
  21. The agent on the phone told me it’s because 12 and under eat free - but from being on here I’ve seen that’s not true unless they want chicken tenders etc from the limited kid’s menu. My daughter really will eat allllll the steak and meats on the ship 😂
  22. Yeah there is some kind of Glitch. Her name wasn’t there then it appeared, but when I tried to add the Soda package it disappeared again…. So still didn’t get it. If there is no discount for doing ahead I guess we can add her on the first day of the trip. Anyone know if price is the same once onboard?
  23. We tried this- they told us since we have the airfare no FCC or OBC will be offered after the 75 day mark. We were at 55 days when I called. Ours went down $400 in one week. We are already in a 2 bedroom (we started in a club but changed our minds and paid to upgrade 5 days before this big price drop)… Oh well- lesson learned that if you are going to change your mind and pay to upgrade wait until closer in as long as rooms remain (8 cabins still remain today in that category). We had been told not to worry because if they dropped we could get OBC / FCC…. And that wasn’t true due to the air. Not a big complaint , as we are still happy with our room choice - just letting people know for their info.
  24. Thank you! When I go there her name doesn’t appear only mine or my husband: I will try calling. Scratch that! It worked now! I think I was in the wrong spot, thank you!!
  25. My 12 year old wants to eat at the specialty restaurants with us- she is a foodie so she won’t be eating off the kids menu often. So we want to pre-purchase a dining plan for her. She also wants a soda package. I can’t find a way to do her dining or sodas on the app. I can find the place where I can upgrade to 2 more meals for $70 - are the meals for the cabin and she can use them ? If so that’s a good value but I don’t want more if it’s just for myself/husband because we already have 4 (2 free at sea and 2 platinum). Has anyone done this and been able to use them for the kid(s) in the room? Thank you!
