  1. If you're asking where that picture was taken, it was not HAL. It was taken this week from a Big C ship 🥺🫣
  2. It does - I'm so looking forward to it. Leaving the crazy American Thanksgiving travel behind sounds like something I can be thankful for, lol.
  3. I'm on that Nov 26 cruise; booked well before the recent $1 deposit promo. Hoping only mild travel since American Thanksgiving doesn't mean anything once we're in the sky. Should be better leaving from an international terminal instead of domestic terminal. Maybe wishful thinking...
  4. Well I think it would be appropriate to use Motel 6, that way you can channel your inner Tom Bodett cuz you know he'll leave the light on for you!! Too easy...lol
  5. Nite Nite! Job well done today - thanks for schlepping us along.
  6. @carnival03 yes the 18% will automatically be added when receive the service. Additional gratuities are not expected, but there is a line for it on the receipt so be sure to put $0 if you don't want to pay above 18%. I give extra if the person was really good and don't if they did the usual fine job. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  7. Hey @TxTeach79 quite like the country flag you include w/the drink info. I'm sure Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler are all a-twitter!!
  8. If you find it on any McD menu, you might want to invest real quick in Whataburger stock so you can benefit from the inevitable lawsuits, lol.
  9. Hey @afdds as @RuthC said, no need for you to babysit your booking for a check-in time or boarding group - both are automatic and will be at the top of your boarding pass in the Navigator App. Also, once you are on board, you're welcome to go drop off your carry-on bags in your cabin whether it's ready or not. You are then free to go explore the ship and eat lunch. No need to camp out anywhere waiting for your cabin, like they do on some other cruise lines.
  10. Agree with @SusieKIslandGirlthat crew may not be available at muster stations to scan cards until later. If you go as soon as you drop your bag, there may not be anyone there to scan your card. We pick up keys from our "mailbox," drop our bags, turn tv on to muster, go eat lunch, then go to muster station to get card scanned.
  11. Never noticed the daily special could be different on each side - I will definitely check next cruise when I'm on the hunt for mint chocolate chip.
  12. My experience has been the menus in the app update once I'm onboard.
  13. Good callout - we do that, too. Of course, they already know we're on B2B, but unless we ask, we don't know when they're getting off. And it certainly could be before us.
  14. Attempt to discourage jumpers and "falls"? Sorry to say it, but we all know we thought it...🥺🙄
  15. Congrats on your selection and welcome to HAL! We hope to read a Live review from you next July. No such thing as too much Alaska! Encourage you to browse these threads between now and next summer; there's a lot of experience w/good tips that I think will help make a great cruise even better. I pick up something new before every cruise. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise! Here's a link to the Live review from Eurodam I did a couple months ago. Should give you a glimpse into the ports and awesome Glacier Bay:
  16. I bet I've said this very thing seriously no less than 10 times this past week!! I am 1000% Team Hibachi!
  17. Thank you; I didn't realize they would charge a different amount, so I will definitely go look.
  18. @Banditswife called it out - Grand Dutch Cafe for hot chocolate and yummy coffees. Aligned w/everyone saying ask for what you want (as well as suggestions) from any bar, including GDC & Explirations - you should come away with a drink. Strawberry Mojito and Mango Mojito were bartender recommendations by a bartender on Nieuw Statendam - they were really good, especially the strawberry; just ask for a virgin. Have fun experimenting. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  19. 1) I didn't complain - I asked a question. 2) How do I know it will be corrected? It was part of an original bill and split out separately when a partial refund was done, which makes no sense. So, again, how do I know it will be corrected? 3) It's an indication of a potential issue w/the way Carnival is processing (or not, in this case) refunds. Withholding small amounts from multiple customers can be a pretty lucrative revenue stream for Carnival. I prefer they make money from me by fully transparent transactions. This is a place for people with questions to seek answers. Just because I ask a question on a Sat (or Tues...) is irrelevant. Nor does it mean a response is due at any particular time. What's it matter when I post a question? And why do you feel a need to complain on a Saturday evening about something that has zero impact on you?
  20. For sure - it's an amazing balcony! DH and I had one a couple years ago on 9 in Caribbean. We lived out there. The views are incredible.
  21. Best cruise memories I have of AK are from a Neptune aft wrap - congrats and enjoy!!
  22. Welcome to HAL! I hope you find it to be the best $1 you ever spent. 🙂
