Noticed this as well, but got a little concerned because that "too early to book" message also comes up when it's sold before final payment sometimes. After talking with my PCC she said it doesn't look like it's been opened up at all yet.  Inventory is 0/0 or something.

Triple quadruple double double crossing fingers I'm able to score it for the Miami inaugural.

I contacted them and was told my cruise will open 1yr before for vibe.

This is just one example, and as I've said, a little shopping goes a long way.

-$163 round trip on Frontier (let's call it $200 with luggage)-Airfare from Cincinnati to New Orleans, arriving the day before the cruise

-$150 inc/tax- Hyatt 1.5 miles from the port (stayed there before, nice hotel)

-$1,804/cabin- NCL Getaway Balcony Cabin, all in, including taxes fees and FAS, Harvest Cay, Cozumel, Roatan

    TOTAL-$2,117

Let's call it $2,200 with UBER and taking yourself out for a meal while in New Orleans.

    Let's start deducting....

($400) if you only get an Ocean View Cabin

($270) if you have the 15% off coupon

    ($180) if you're a Veteran

-You'd be under $1,300 for the cruise and still have drinks, 2 SDPs, some internet and excursion discounts of $50 per excursion

The Away ships are nice ships, not the newest...not the oldest, but the ones that have the goodies like "THE WATERFRONT", OCEAN 678, Syd Norman's, all the Specialty Dining Restaurants people usually like.

All-in-all, a very nice vacation for between $1,300 and $2,200 for EVERYTHING! You wouldn't have put your hand in your pocket for another nickel the entire time.

Where you finding that price with FAS included. I see that price for sale away balcony?

OK....just looking at some fares...these are per cabin, not per person, and before coupon discounts (15%)

-7 Day Breakaway out of New Orleans-11/24~$1,700 Balcony and $1,300 inside with FAS

I like sailing out of New Orleans.

    Getaway 2024 2648.60 balcony deck 11 mid.

New Orleans was last cruise not a bad price.

Sun Princess 7 nights DD Balcony with Princess Plus (free drinks, free unlimited wifi, free grats, 2 casual dining meals, 2 special desserts each day, 2 fitness classes and free room service $3190 for two people 11/30/25.

Except not looking for last week of Nov.

I got 3558 if picking room

Also only San Juan and St Thomas + private Island guess not as bad as MSC but it's Nov not Oct like the other quotes.

MSC World America will be brand new (launches in April) and sails out of Miami to Eastern Caribbean on October 11 and 25 of 2025. Have you priced that out?

It has a terrible itinerary for eastern carribean but yes in order to compare it was about 3300. We are doing an MSC cruise in Nov so see if it compares to the other lines we have been on.

You left out a LOT of other cruise lines in your research....

Alpt of comparisons are of RCCL and NCL

Carnival 2350 nothing included not ports I would want to visit, how much for unlimited drinks and 2 specialty restaurants?

Celebrity 3805 with drink package but not the newest ship and not sure celebrity is our style?

    Virgin 4854 no drink package.

Princess had older ships so nothing there.

I got an ocean view on SOTS for 7 nights on a casino offer free. Had to pay total $350 for taxes and port for two of us. Paid $210 to upgrade to an OV balcony we got to pick. Paid $1200 for drinks and $700 for UDP. Total for everything $2,460 for two with all the trimmings:)

But how much if no casino offer?

I've got a balcony cruise coming up that I could get all that for about $2000 on a 7 nighter. And it was booked rather late in the calendar, so it could have been a lot less had I booked early.

Wow so cruise was 400 for 2 people in Ocean View Balcony.

    Sign me up.

I am not sure what cruise line you are comparing to, but I find Royal's individual drink prices to be in line with the industry.  Living in a large metro area, the drinks onboard Royal's ships are not far off from what we pay at a restaurant or bar on any given day.

I mean when you include 2x in balcony cabin + drink package + internet + maybe 2 specially dining we are at over 5000? Where princess or ncl are around 3500 and for comparison msc is under 3000

The short answer: because people are willing to pay those prices. 😉 Every cruise line uses a different pricing model, and as you've probably seen, prices can vary dramatically (both cruise fare and add-ons) from ship to ship and date to date.

The good news is that nobody is ever compelled to purchase any of it. 🙂

Understand it just make Royal price so much higher than others.
