  1. I’m sailing on Symphony in January. I called today and upgraded from a neighbourhood gty to an ocean view gty. My invoice though still just says balcony gty and I can still bid for an ocean view balcony through Royal up. Any idea where I can see and confirm that it was in fact changed? thanks!
  2. Adding to the questions because this is my first time seeing a Royal up option (or booking a gty cabin!) I am booked in a neighbourhood balcony gty cabin, sailing Jan 7 2024. I bid on an ocean view cabin. Do these typically not get approved/ assigned until close to the cruise date? If it did get assigned early would it just change my neighbourhood gty to ocean view gty or would it give me a cabin number? If it did happen to give me a cabin number can I treat it like a gty and choose a different available cabin in the same category? thanks in advance!
  3. Are there any other cabins available in the same category? You could choose a different one!
  4. We’re booked for the la Quinta airport in early January too. I used a corporate discount and got two rooms for $472. I’m thinking now that seems high?? Seems like all of the hotels have gone up so much since we were last in FLL!
  5. We have 3 gty cabins booked for early January on Symphony and I have been stalking daily (or more lol) too! Glad I’m not the only one! 😂😂
  6. Try calling back but press the option for booking a new cruise. Customer service is always much better on that line!
  7. We’re going on Symphony 6 night in January. Booked a gty balcony for 4 people at $3055. That night the price jumped to $3500 and now it’s around $4200 for the exact same reservation. Huge increase, glad we booked when we did, don’t think we’ll see any price drops before final payment. on the other hand we booked Alaska on Quantum for next April, and between 2 cabins there’s already been 3k in price drops we’ve been able to take advantage of.
  8. Update to this - checked today. No GTY cabins available to book, but absolutely wide open for 4 people in boardwalk and some available now for Central Park too. More than double the price of what we paid for any balcony now though, mind you…
  9. Agreed with others. It’s one thing for the price to go up. It’s another thing for the price to go up, while the service level goes down. Just sucks that this happens now with so many aspects of life. I guess at least they do daily cleaning of the rooms, unlike hotels now.
  10. I just paid for it for a 6 day cruise for me & my husband. Was 30% off, came to $1374 with grats. For a 7 day next year we’re at $1552, that’s BOGO 50% off. So expensive!!!
  11. Interesting. We are booked for symphony on January 7th in 3 balcony guarantees. Looking now for a 2 person cabin the only option is a boardwalk, Central Park, or gty. No option to book an OV cabin on their website (or Costco). for the cabin with 4 people there are only 5 boardwalks, 2 central parks and quite a few OV balconies. So curious where we’ll all end up. I wonder if they’re holding cabins back or if it’s just an almost full sailing!
  12. Absolutely love your review! Is Andy still on the ship? He and the guy from Brazil (who’s name I’m forgetting…) were hilarious during Bingo when we were on Navigator in April! Enjoy the rest of your cruise!
  13. Thanks! I just booked the la Quinta airport but it’s refundable so I have options! We’re Canadian so it sucks that not only have the prices jumped, we need to add roughly 35% on top of everything because our dollar is so low now! Ahhh, such is life. Just counting the days to vacation! 😃
  14. Bump, looking for a January FLL hotel too. There will be 8 of us in 2 rooms and prices seem super high. Don’t want to stay in a dump, but at the same time it’s only one night. We’re flying in from Seattle Jan 6 and cruising out Jan 7. Airport shuttle and breakfast would be great. Hoping we can find something reasonable!
  15. That sounds about right. My parents just booked an Alaska cruise and it was over $600 for a non refundable deposit
  16. … yes, but the NCL package gives you a drink package, gratuity, wifi etc. this is just a fee increase on something that we had already budgeted for with no additional benefit. Am I missing something here? 😂
  17. How is the NCL premium package cost comparable to an increase in fees?
  18. We sail on January 7th and stop in Nassau. There’s 8 of us traveling in 2 cabins. Haven’t heard anything yet, but this sucks!! Some people in here are seeing big increases!
  19. We stayed there before a trip to Vegas last August. No complaints. Nothing fancy, but the staff were nice!
  20. I’ve just been logging in to see if it says a cabin number instead of GTY. Not sure if it works with early assignments or not, but it’s fun to check 😂 helps count down the days until vacation!
  21. That’s quick! How far out were you booking? We have 3 gty cabins for the same cruise (Jan 2024) so I have lots to check daily to waste time at least! Haha 😀
  22. I just paid $1482CAD for a 6 day cruise for 2. Last year I paid $1313 for a 5 day including drink package and Wi-Fi. Crazy!!
  23. My mom forwarded me an email with it! 🙂
  24. Symphony on January 7 I just booked a ‘balcony guarantee’ but when I called in to finalize it, he said it was a neighbourhood one. A OV gty would be about $800 more. So not sure if that means for sure neighbourhood or if they could upgrade it. I’m fine with either!
  25. I used ‘discover’ on two new bookings. Think it was about $60 in savings
