  1. I don't know if there is a limit, but they can certainly be transferred more than once. I have transferred a certificate that in turn was transferred to me. No issue at all!
  2. Once again I'm shocked to read about a potenital IT glitch at NCL! 😮 (No, not really...)
  3. Appetizers for being gold??? I was on three cruises as gold and never got anything except water. (Not that I wanted anything, not even the water, but still...)
  4. I can't tell you a time, but when I was on Bliss earlier this year it was CHAOS during the disembark! So I'd say the sooner the better! That particular day it was chaos every step of the way more or less: Off the ship, through immigration, security at SeaTac... No problem for me with my afternoon flight. But people actually missed flights that day (Much of the problems were at SeaTac. I don't remember what it was all about, but apparently not unheard of from other times).
  5. OT, but WHAT???? I (Scandinavian) find Americans in general the absolutel opposite of rude! (There are exceptions of course, but thankfully few) Very friendly and helpful. So are the British. As for other nationalitiles, there are all kinds! I have noticed some nationalities being extra rude around the buffet, but I will not name them here. 😮 Edit: I'm talking about adults here. Thankfully there hasn't been too many kids on the cruises I've done. I try to pick ones that don't attract kids/teens.
  6. It seems a little bit random. I THINK Haven/suits get them, but like you I have also heard that some not in those rooms get them. I have not heard of a lot of "normal room" people getting them. Either way, nothing to waste time thinking about in my opinion.
  7. As has been said, technically sharing is not allowed. They may let you do it anyway. But in for example Food Republic I suppose the teen can order something cheap(ish) and the three of you can share that and the 4x2 items of the other two.
  8. At least the high cruise prices for 2025/26 has made me more comfortable spending more on my land trips than I would have been before. So I've quite a few of those lined up. I still think NCL is the cruise line that gives ME the best (least bad) value. I don't know if destination or room type (or both) makes the difference, but for European )preferably Northern) cruises, solo in "cheap" rooms NCL gives me best (least bad) value. (In "value" the itinerary is of course important) I like to cruise but it's getting way too expensive so as things look now I may do one or two cruises and several land trips to places I want to see more of or just like to hang in very year.
  9. It depends under what conditions you book. I'm in EU but my PCC has told me he can book me under US terms if I want to. (I don't...) So I'm assuming that a US PCC can book you under other than US terms as well. The default probably is your place of residence. And with OP being in UK as I understand the booking would be at UK terms. UK/EU have non-refundable deposits.
  10. I'm sorry to hear this. What a mess!
  11. I don't know, but if you're not going, why not just cancel?
  12. As the replies given before you posted this there is no need to bring DI water since NCL provides it for you. Great service, wouldn't you say?
  13. No. Not all of them. But a bigger ratio than the non-solo. So very likely the only solo balconys left when OP went to book. In general the "solo" rooms are the least desireable in each category. Which absolutely doesn't mean that they are all bad. Just "less good"...
  14. Actually, this thing with TAs offering perks and discounts was totally unknown to me until I came to CC. That is absolutely NOT how it works here! But some people seem to think that the whole world works the same as their little part of it. (OK, maybe not so little, but still just a part.) I will not get a cheaper cruise or any onboard credit or paid gratuity if I choose to go through a TA. I MIGHT get a discounted transportation to the cruiseship if I choose one of a limited number of itineraries. On the other hand, since I'm pretty good at finding cheap transportation and hotel rooms myself I might not. Or rather, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't. This whole TA business just isn't very big here nowadays when people can do things themselves online.
  15. Maybe in USA. OP is in UK. I don't know about UK since I'm in EU. But TAs here don't really offer much perks and discounts so "most people" only use them if they are uncomfortable making their own arrangements. I'd say that they expect the TA to guide and advice them.
  16. Yeah... CC isn't exactly the friendliest place on the net... A thick skin is a must here! And I agree with @TheBeardedCruiser about the point of using a TA! And the rest of the post come to think of it...
  17. Unfortunately it's not just NCL. At least not for the destinatiuons I'm interested in (Europe). All cruiselines have outrageous prices! Actually, for me as a solo traveller NCL is the least outrageous. Still super expensive though! I have three budget friendly Europe landbased trips planned so far for 2025. One NCL cruise and Hurtigruten Norway. (Hurtigruten is seriously expensive, but now that other cruises have gone up so much it doesn't feel as bad any more. Yeah, I'm fooling myself into believing something is "good value" even though it's actually not. At least Oslo/Bergen are near enough so I don't have to fly anywhere.)
  18. This is just a guess, but my guess it has more to do with food waste than money. Their food waste goals are stricter than they have been. And I guess they are also fed up with making the effort and then have an attendance of maybe less than 25% of expected.
  19. Maybe. But it has nothing to do with food/beverages. I don't care for neither. There is enough of that available all over ther ship anyway. For me it¨s about how the roll call makes me feel. Am I excited to get to meet these people or not?
  20. My guess: NCL glitch! There was a widespread similar thing about a year ago. At first I (and many others) were told we had a ridicilously high amount to pay. So high it was obvious it wasn't right. Then a week or two later we got that negative balance. My PCC checked and all looked all right in the system, where he could se, and a week or so it went away. But it could also be something to do with an excursion. Better check with somone!
  21. I THINK you'll get the extra dinner if you upgraded the "regular" (not by the bidding process). It should be on the new confirmation for the new room.
  22. I am sorry thi happened to you. I think the travel agent should have warned you about this. And I wouldn't use that travel agent again. But you DID choose the cabin. It IS marked as enclosed/Privasea on the deck plan and the pictures on NCL web site are just samples. They sure could be more clear about that. And the description of the solo balconys is kind of misleading not mentioning Privasea at all. Hindsight is 20/20 and of course you should have contacted them ASAP when you saw the invoice. And not wait for them get came back to you. Just keep trying to get hold of them. But, as I said, that's that glorious 20/20 hindsight talking! The same one that said "it's marked as Privasea on the deck plan". Legally I doubt there is anything for you to do. I do however think it would be reasonable for the travel agent to give you some sort of goodwill gesture. Personally I would love a Privasea balcony, but I do understand that you're disappointed. But try to put it behind you and have a wonderful cruise in the shade on your balcony!
  23. OK, I don't think that "2 for 1 deposit" is visible for me in EU. Either way, it's not something I would take any notice of. It only means you can make a smaller first deposit. You wouldn't actually save any money. Just not pay so much out of pocket right away. It has nothing to do with CruiseNext as I understand it.
