  1. Thank you, it’s on the list, we are all about the shenanigans! 🥳🍸🍹🥳
  2. We had the same experience in October, got right in after our 10:30 appointment but they didn’t start boarding until after 11:30. After that their computers went down and the people outside were stuck out there for another two hours. It was a hot day, we were grateful we were already inside.
  3. Thanks, we are staying at the Renaissance before our January 9th Radiance cruise, feeling great about my choice! Kings Fish House is looking good for dinner too after drinking our way around Shoreline Village. It’s a beautiful day for sail away, I think you will love the Panorama, thanks for bringing us along, cheers! 😎🥳🍸🍹🥳😎
  4. You might want to catch the end of the game after all…..
  5. I get it completely, Caleb Williams is a gift from God as you just saw. You can root for Utah, no need to worry about the USC fans, they’re nothing like Raiders fans, lol!
  6. The game is about to come on at every bar you will go to, you can shake your fist at Reilly and admire William’s skills. Don’t blame you for being bitter!
  7. The Yard House in Shoreline Village Is really good. It’s original Yard House, been there 20+ years, they have seats outside on the harbor. Good drinks too.
  8. Wait until you see the price in Long Beach! 😳😳😳 Post a pic if you get one so everyone can feel our pain. Safe travels and have fun tonight, I love Opening Day! 🥳🍹🥳
  9. Great start, I’m looking forward to following along. I was on the Panorama in October and was surprised by how good the drink service was at almost all the bars, not many stingy pours. A few were so strong I had to leave them behind because I didn’t want it to be my last one for the day, lol! Our group especially enjoyed the bartenders in Pig & Anchor, definitely a good hang out spot in the evenings, my daughter and son in law were in there every night. Beware of the Smokey Watermelon Margaritas or maybe I should say enjoy! Looks like you might get decent weather on Saturday, I live 90 minutes north, we’re supposed to have rain through the weekend but the storm will hopefully stay north of Long Beach. The water out in here in the Pacific is cold, probably qualify as freezing in California for those used to the Caribbean, good thing you are bringing the “swim clothes”. The water will be warmer in Mexico but not Caribbean or Florida warm and it was uncomfortably hot and humid on land in October, looks like it will be perfect next week, can’t wait to read all about it! 😎🍹😎
  10. Thank you so much! The hubby and I are doing this cruise January 9th so perfect timing, I look forward to going through all the menus and fun times. We shouldn’t have a lot of kids as they will be back in school, love being retired. I appreciate the info on the water shuttle too, we are determined to go onshore in Catalina. It’s been 20+ years, we enjoyed vacationing there when our kids were still kids, I will be prepared to be patient, lol! Thanks again, this post made my day!
  11. You pay the 18% gratuity on the cost of the drink package, if you get more than 5 or 6 drinks a day the servers and bartenders do not get a full tip, if any at all after it’s all pooled. Regardless, it’s not out of control for you if you don’t tip, why do you care what others tip? America does has a culture of tipping and some of us actually enjoying showing our appreciation to servers, bartenders and others in the service industry that make our vacations and other experiences better. If you treat them well sometimes you get better service and extra alcohol in your drink but I always tip because for me it’s the right thing to do, especially on a cruise ship. IMO they are the hardest working members of the service industry and do their jobs far away from home and loved ones to help provide for their families. If it bothers you too bad, not sorry. 🙂
  12. I have been able to accept and send text messages with other IPhones when we purchased premium WIFI, does this work with the value plan also? It was great on the Panorama when we traveled with my daughter, we didn’t need the Chat feature as we were able to text each other without using the App. I have ordered the value plan for my next few cruises and I’m hoping it works with that plan also.
  13. My daughter did the Chefs Table last week on the Panorama, it is completely back to the way it was pre Covid. It included a galley tour and making the chocolate melting cake. She said it took 3 1/2 hours and was fabulous!
  14. That is the worst time for a glitch, I am not platinum yet so I would be upset! it is my New Years 2023 cruise that disappeared but it still makes me uneasy that it says there is no reservation with the booking number and last name provided. Cruises disappear all the time but usually it’s easy to add them back in.
  15. Thank you for posting, I am having the same problem but don’t need to check in, that must be frustrating for you! I have been trying to add my cruise back in for a few hours and left a message for my PVP. It must be a glitch and hopefully fixed soon so you can check in, good luck!
  16. Then the cove is definitely for you, we love being on the water also, most of our vacations include the ocean or a lake. When we did a land vacation in Alaska we went to Seaward and Coopers Landing on the Kenai Peninsula instead of Denali. Seaward is in a spectacular bay and Coopers Landing is right on the upper Kenai River, the water is the turquoise color of the Caribbean, just siting and watching it go by was incredible. Sitting on your balcony in a cove is very similar, enjoy!
  17. On the Panorama last week I tipped $2 cash per drink or $3 when getting drinks for the hubby and me. A few times I tipped more, especially the first day and it definitely enhanced our Cheers experience, lol! I tried to remember to put the tip on the bar when I ordered, it definitely improves service and pours, cheers!
  18. I was in a cove balcony on the Panorama last week and absolutely loved it! 4 of the 7 nights the weather was cool enough to leave our balcony door propped open, it was wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the rushing water. We stay on the beach often in our RV and it was better the crashing waves. We were up front in the same area you are and the cove was so much quieter than the balconies we’ve had on the upper decks. I would not take the upsell they are offering if it was free, try the cove to see if you like it, I think you will. Have a great cruise!
  19. If the games are on a Fox affiliate they will not be televised anywhere on the ship. I was on the Panorama last week and could not watch the Dodger/Padre games, maybe that was a blessing, lol! We had the premium WIFI package and my daughter was able to stream the games on her IPad through the Fox Sports App. I think you need some sort of cable/satellite subscription to sign in to watch live but the App is free. Carnival does have a contract with ESPN so those games were on in the sports bar, not sure about the TBS/TNT games.
  20. Just got off the Panorama Saturday, Marty is still the cruise director, he was great! Super high energy without being annoying and all the Fun Squad members were great too. Almost all the crew were friendly and helpful, it was wonderful to finally see their smiling faces on the last day! I think it starts with Marty, he runs an efficient team on a very well run ship. My family LOVED the Panorama, have fun!
  21. We sail on the Panorama today, got an e-mail Thursday saying there are not enough parking spots in the terminal and to please try to have family or friends drop you off or use ride share. We live 90 minutes away and have 4 adults and a child in our party so are still planning to park in the garage, just leaving home an hour earlier. We have a 10:30 check in so should be ok. The Long Beach Marathon and Bike Ride is this weekend too so we have packed our patience along with our bags, looking forward to a great cruise!
  22. On the Vista in April they had three deck parties, the Mega Deck Party, 80s Rock & Glow and Silent White Party. According to our cruise director next week on the Panorama we will have a Halloween Deck Party, 80s Rock & Glow and Silent White Deck Party.
