Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. A couple years ago we grabbed a group taxi that stopped first at Emerald Beach and dropped the other few folks off, the. Took us to Crown Bay where we caught the water taxi over. Had pre-reserved a golf cart on Water Island and spent a fun day driving around and checking everything out. We were the only people from our ship (or maybe any ship) and had the place mostly to ourselves (save the beach which was a bit busier). As above, you need to get off the ship and go first thing. The water taxi fills up quick and it was first come/first serve.
  2. Britter16 forgot to ask…how did you know this was going to be offered? I figure we will just check with passenger services when we get on the first ship but curious if we need to initiate (if it will happen at all in our particular instance).
  3. Hi all, I searched the first ten pages manually but saw nothing that seemed to meet my needs…we have decided to do a 7-day on Sky next year followed immediately by a 10-day on Enchanted. Seems simple enough to disembark the first one then taxi on around to the next one. If memory serves I don’t think there’s any way to walk our stuff between ships (without ending up in port jail). Anyone done this ship-jumping who can shed light on how it went? If there are any stumbling blocks I’m not anticipating, I’d appreciate knowing. My DH will be highly unamused if things go badly. 😂
  4. Recently off Enchanted (disembarked 1/18). I went to the spa with my husband on embarkation day where he purchased the ten-day pass for the Enclave. We were told there were only 40 full-cruise passes available for sale. He was usually there in the morning and it was never crowded.
  5. We were on board with you for both weeks with a party of eight total. We had a magnificent vacation and everyone stayed well. Our experiences matched yours in the main. I can't recommend this itinerary highly enough, but glad we had been in "training" prior with lots of walking and exercise. It is busy, busy, busy and we are tired! 😂 I need a vacation from my vacation. Thanks for a positive and balanced review...nothing in this life is perfect but we had a perfectly wonderful time.
  6. So what I am discovering is that even though this cruise would count as 2 segments, the FCC on board who booked it for us did so under one booking number. New customer service reps are very confused at my question so I left it as it was and will try "alternate methods" to achieve the desired result. 😉 In future if I'm booking more than 1 leg I'll ask for 2 bookings. The rep said, "I can't rebook you in the same cabin because it is already booked". Right, we have it booked. 😂 No sense in me getting annoyed, I know they are training MANY new staff and there are lots of roads to Rome. Thanks for you who responded so I'd know what I might be up against. Such a wealth of knowledge on these boards.
  7. We are just back from an amazing 14 days on Regal in the Med. I can’t recommend this highly enough…what a trip! That being said, we have a 20-day (B2B) booked for next year in the Caribbean, but it looks like that will be difficult to pull off because of work commitments, etc. Of course I am going to call and try to get it worked out, but I’m just looking for info from anyone who has done this as to what to expect. I’m afraid they will make us rebook, which could be dicey and result in a huge fare increase. I want to brace myself. 😂 TIA!
  8. Sailing in about ten days from Rome, got our medallions last week…shipped FedEx from Singapore. I ordered them when they became available to order, sometime in June if I remember correctly.
  9. Oh that is really interesting! I will follow the replies with interest. What I will say is we cruised several older Princess ships and none gave us the crummy trip we had on Caribbean. I think it has a really poor design for one thing…I’ve been on ships with more capacity yet never felt so crowded with a lack of personal spaces as I did on CB. We witnessed what looked like a dump of some type of oily substance out in the wake on no less than three occasions. The whole thing was subpar compared to what we were used to on the line, though the food was fine and service very good across the board. It’s just hard to get past that cramped feeling and those unfortunate, pervasive toilet smells. Our first Princess cruise was on the Grand, which we dearly loved, and we were moored along side the CB in, I believe) Antigua. One of the “elder statesmen” supervisors in the Horizon Court had stopped by our table for a chat when he gestured over at the CB and sniffed, “THAT is nothing more than a floating hotel. THIS (indicating Grand) is a real ship.” I’ve never forgotten that.
  10. So sorry for your lousy experience. We sailed on CB in Feb 2019, somewhat against my better judgment as I knew it was an older ship without a really stellar reputation. Even then the plumbing issues were apparent (unpleasant odors) and then norovirus broke out and we returned to Port Everglades three days early. I learned my lesson the hard way, as did you…the older ships are not a great choice these days. Again, sorry for the bad anniversary “gift”.
