  1. All rental car companies provide free shuttle service from there facilities in Cape Canaveral over to Port Canaveral. Most rental car companies are very busy on cruise turnaround days. When you return your rental vehicle there you either wait for the free shuttle bus or you can Uber, Lyft or cab over to the port. I normally drop off my family and luggage at the port first and then return the vehicle by myself. The process usually takes around and hour. I repeat the process if I'm renting a vehicle at the conclusion of my cruise. We gather our luggage and walk over to the shuttle pick up area. If the shuttles are busy we hail either a cab, Uber or Lyft to get us over to the rental car facility in Cape Canaveral.
  2. My family's passport applications were received in Philadelphia on January 31st. They were sent as regular service. I received notification on February 28th that they were completed and being sent back to me. They were sent from the Portsmouth New Hampshire facility and arrived on March 2nd.
  3. My family likes Country Inn and Suites in Cape Canaveral for a one or two night pre cruise stay. Just a nice place very close to Port Canaveral.
  4. As for Fort Lauderdale check if Louie Bossi's on Las Olas Blvd has an Easter Brunch. Busy, noisy fun place with excellent food. One of my South Florida favorites, especially for Italian food.
  5. Isn't Wonder Of The Seas currently sailing from Port Canaveral. When is this cruise? If you're traveling between the Port of Miami to Port Everglades or in the opposite direction a cab, Uber or Lyft works fine. The forty five minute trip should run you around seventy five dollars plus tip!
  6. I'm unaware of any reserved parking at the Port of Miami. I know personally that you can park at any garage and I always suggest you park after 10:00AM. After 10:00AM most of the passengers from last week's sailings have left the garage and are on there way home. I normally unload luggage and my family directly in front of the terminal first and then drive over to the parking garage. Secure the vehicle and walk back over to the terminal to meet up with my family.
  7. Dania Beach Casino on Dania Beach Blvd has a long term parking lot that serves cruise passengers heading over to Port Everglades. Not sure of price or company name.
  8. All shuttle service from FLL to Port Everglades was discontinued approximately five plus years ago. A cab from FLL is twenty dollars plus tip. Some off site locations near FLL provide shuttle service to Port Everglades. I personally know that Alamo has free shuttle service from there Eller Drive location over to Port Everglades.
  9. Head over to Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale and have dinner in one of the restaurants. My favorite is Louie Bossi's Italian Restaurant. Great food, great drinks and a great place to people watch. Very busy and very noisy but so worth it. Great wine selection too. Reservations are a must, especially on weekends. I love the place. Also on the same block is Tuscan Grill, Big City Tavern, Rocco's Tacos and American Social. A fifteen minute drive from Dania Beach.
  10. Most cab companies in South Florida have twenty four hour seven days a week service. You shouldn't have any problem with getting a cab for the short trip over to FLL. As for Uber and Lyft I would think that service would be limited at that early hour.
  11. Definitely contact Larry's Limos for a price quote. Highly recommended transportation company used by many Cruise Critic posters.
  12. Take a cab or Uber to Total Wine which is located in Fort Lauderdale in the Harbor Shops Shopping Center. Its a short ten minute ride. If you need suntan lotion, snacks, etc there's a Publix Supermarket in the same shopping center. If you call in an order to Total Wine it will be waiting for you when you arrive.
  13. The price per person for three was $860.00 with two free bags per person. That was for both December 2019 and December 2020 flights. That was a Pre Covid bargain!
  14. My family of three flew to Singapore for a fifteen night Holland America cruise to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam in December 2019 and an eight night NCL sailing to Thailand and Malaysia in December 2020. We flew from JFK on Singapore Airlines to Frankfurt Germany. That flight was seven hours with a three hour stay in Frankfurt. The following Singapore Airlines flight from Frankfurt to Singapore took twelve hours. Thank God we were fed four times on two long flights.
  15. Contact Larry's Limos for a price quote. Many Cruise Critic posters recommend them including myself.
  16. We normally return the rental vehicle at the Fort Lauderdale Rental Car Center and then walk downstairs to the Arrivals Area where the taxi stand is. Hop in the cab with our luggage for the short fifteen minute ride over to the terminal. Cost is usually around twenty dollars plus tip. Normally there is plenty of cabs available.
  17. Rental car locations are very busy on cruise turnaround days. Try to get there early because the lines get long. Sometimes shuttle service takes awhile and I personally either cab or Uber over to Port Canaveral.
  18. What is your favorite Cuban restaurant in the Miami area besides La Carretta and Versailles?
  19. Try looking for hotels in the Blue. Lagoon area of Miami near Miami International Airport. Prices are more affordable and reasonable there. There are also places nearby for last minute essentials along with some decent food establishments. A short twenty minute Uber ride over to the Port of Miami.
  20. Rent a vehicle in Cape Canaveral for the minimum twenty four hour time period. Drive back to Orlando and either purchase a hotel day pass or head over to Disney Sorings and spend a few hours there. Have a late lunch and then head over to MCO to return the rental vehicle and then check in for your flight home.
  21. Haven't been there in months but the last time I went the food was still very good. Still miss the old location.
  22. Larry's Limos are recommended by many Cruise Critic posters including myself. Call them for a price quote. They can handle any transportation needs in the South Florida area.
  23. Taverna Opa in Hollywood Beach on A1A has excellent Greek food very close to Margaritaville.
  24. If you're heading to Miami I like Garcias for seafood on the River, Versailles or La Carretta for Cuban on Calle Ocho and Perricones for Italian in downtown Miami.
