  1. I started this thread and have some updated information. I did a chat today with Princess and yes; Princess will provide a water taxi from Ringaskiddy to Cobh on September 26th, 2024. There is no fee. Information is supposed to be available on the ship in terms of details to take the water taxi. This is good news for me and my spouse, as we only want to visit Cobh. SAY43
  2. Miriam: I contacted the Port of Cork. I received the following reply from David Browne. Here is his reply. " I can confirm your vessel Regal Princess will be in our Ringaskiddy Terminal on September 26th . There will be 2 complimentary shuttle buses provided to bring passengers to Cork City and back and these will be in service all day up to approx. 45 mins before the vessel is due to sail. From the City you can get a short train journey to Cobh and return to the city later in the day and avail of the free shuttle back to Ringaskiddy." My wife and I only want to visit Cobh. David's response is encouraging. He says "Also, worth noting, this will be the Regal Princess’ 4th time to berth in our Ringaskiddy Terminal this season, on the previous 3 occasions the vessel had organised a water taxi directly from the vessel to Cobh." I have contacted Princess about this but have not heard back from them yet. We are doing the 33-day transAtlantic, which apparently is a combination of back to back cruises. We will celebrate our 60th anniversary crossing the Atlantic in October.
  3. My wide and U am scheduled to stop on Regal Princess at Cobh on Sept 26, 2024 on a transatlantic cruise. I found that the ship docks across from Cobh in Ringaskiddy. We planned to simply walk Cobh and not take an excursion. After much searching I contacted Cobh port and asked about getting to Cobh. David B. responded and stated that Regal Princess is scheduled to dock at Ringaskiddy, and has done so three times this season. He confirmed that on the first three stops Princess provided a complimentary shuttle to Cork, where you could get a train to Cobh. He also stated that the ship had organized a water taxi directly from the vessel to Cobh. He has not heard yet whether they will do so on my cruise. I will check with Princess to see what I can find out. The bottom line is that this is good news for our cruise this year. This is our first port, and I was concerned that it could be a stressful day in carrying out our plan.
  4. 5/14/24 My wife and I are taking a TA 33-day cruise on the Princess Regal in Sept-Oct '24 for our 60th anniversary. We finish at Galveston, TX. I contacted Princess about EZ Check for Galveston/IAH. Unfortunately, not available. Currently, San Diego, Port Lauderdale, and Honolulu are the only ports where the service is offered. Since my EZAir flight changed to much later, I am looking at a 7-9 layover after arriving at the airport before my flight home. Sounds like a good option for situations like this.
