Thanks everyone, you have been a great help!

What about deck 8 or above? should there be obstructions on those decks?
-
are there any that are total obstruction?
-
How "obstructed" are the balcony views on the Quantam - I am looking at a balcony for an alaskan cruise, but a lot of the ones available say obstructed.

Anyone been to Alaska in September? What is the weather like?

Any idea when 2021 itineraries will be available?

Thanks for the replies. I meant more for viewing. We are going to get a balcony and just thinking about days at sea and sitting on the balcony. Typically I do middle or aft. But was just curious if anyone had any suggestions while cruising Alaska

We were looking at the clam tram, but they do not have enough jeeps for our group. are there any other "off the beaten path" things that are local and not as populated with tourists? thank you!
-
Please let me know if you have done the clam tram in Nassau. What does it include. Yay or Nay? Thanks!

I have been on many cruises but have always had a cabin in the middle or the rear of the ship. this time we booked a balcony guarantee and just found out we are almost to the front of the ship. i have always heard you feel a lot more movement the further forward you are. we are on deck 7. any thoughts? Thanks!

Looking for recommendations for deep sea fishing in Nassau

Wow! Thank you all for the great info. What is a good time of year to go?

I am thinking about surprising my husband with an Alaskan cruise for our 30th Anniversary in 2016. I have looked at the itineraries for RCI, but would love to hear from you if you have sailed to Alaska. Which itinerary do you like and why? North, South, roundtrip, etc. Best place to fly into. All info much appreciated!!
-
Thanks for all the responses. I have never had a problem with motion as of yet. We are near the forward elevators. Is this far forward or more towards mid?
-
I just upgraded from an outside ocean view on deck three mid ship on the enchantment to a balcony on deck seven forward. I have never booked a forward due to the thought that there would be more movement felt. Can anyone offer any insight to this belief? The deal was to good to pass up at only $50 more pp.

Also, can anyone advise of pricing for the one on cococay? TIA!
-
Has anyone prebooked this? I would like to give it as a gift to someone prior to sailing.
-
Thank you!

Does Royal offer a massage on coco cay? If so, does anyone know where or how to reserve prior to sailing? I have looked at the excursions and did not see it and could not find any info on their site. TIA

Sorry, but although we have tmobile, we did not try the texting to each other on the ship. But usually even at home if I do not have a signal even just a standard text will not go through and I do not receive until i am where I have a signal.
Departure port - Seattle vs Vancouver
in Alaska
Posted
Looking into booking a 7-day Alaskan Cruise. Looking for recommendations, pros/cons of leaving out of Seattle versus Vancouver. I have been trying to look at itineraries from each, but am a little overwhelmed. They all start to look the same, but it seems like if you leave out of Vancouver you get a little more time seeing other sights as if you leave from Seattle, you have to stop in Vancouver for a short time.
Thanks!
