  1. In the hot and humid climate especially in the summer time if a person got hot because of the climate and also from lugging all those luggages around, rushing to the terminal etc.... their body temperature get hot what happened then? One time I was going through the airport's screening going into the full body scanner "millimeter wave" scanner and it detected something. TSA then searched me found nothing. I asked them what could cause the false alarm. They said it could be because the weather there is hot and it raised my body temperature. I would guess in the covid-19 screening case, if someone's body temperature is high, they would do more details screening and that would means a bottleneck on boarding depends on how many people would have false positives. Just imagine coming back from a full day on a Caribbean port hot, humid after spending the day on sunny beach at an all inclusive resort with all you can drink alcohol, that will raise your body temperature. 😀
  2. Our cruise sailing on July 17, 2020 on Enchantment was announced cancel through email on May 20. I then click on the link to request full refund on that same day (paid that cruise in full). Today, 5/31 got full refund through 6 credit card transactions. We have 1 cabin with 3 people.
  3. I just paid off the balance for the July 17, 2020 cruise on the Enchantment. I've been crusing for a while. This is the first time I paid off the balance and not as happy about it like in the past when paying off balance on previous cruises because now knowing that upcoming cruise may or may not happen and if it does what would cruising will be like, but it will be definately different from the past. It will be a different kind of "Wow" experience. 🙂
  4. From the White House here are the phases of re-opening the American Economy. Seems like cruise ships will not be back in operation until Phase 3. Not sure when phase 3 will be or even when will each phase be. Only thing they spell out is what can be happen on each phase. Got a cruise booked on the Enchantment for July 17, this year. Balance due is going to be in 2 more days, not sure if cruising will be re-open by then. Before we can go to Phase 1 Before the states go into the first phase of the plan, there needs to be certain benchmarks that are met. Those include: A sustained downward trajectory of new positive coronavirus cases over a 14-day period or a downward trajectory of positive tests as a percent of total tests within a 14-day period A downward trajectory of influenza-like illnesses reported within a 14-day period and a downward trajectory of COVID-like syndromic cases reported within a 14-day period A return to pre-crisis conditions in hospitals and a robust testing program in place for at-risk healthcare workers States should have the “ability to quickly set up safe and efficient screening and testing sites,” the guidelines read, and “quickly and independently supply sufficient Personal Protective Equipment” in hospitals Phase 1: (For states and regions who meet the gatekeeping criteria) All vulnerable individuals must continue to shelter-in-place. The people who go back to work should not be among the high-risk category Continue to maintain six-feet social distancing guidelines Nonessential travel should be minimized Employers should provide options for teleworking for people who are vulnerable People should return to work in small phases If schools are already closed, they should remain closed Visiting senior living facilities is still prohibited Large group gatherings should be avoided Gyms can open if they can adhere to strict distancing guidelines Elective surgeries can resume on an outpatient basis Phase 2: (For states, regions with no evidence of rebound after phase 1) Vulnerable and high-risk individuals should continue to shelter in place Groups of more than 50 people should be avoided Non-essential travel can resume Employers should continue to provide telework options to people if they can’t maintain distancing Schools, daycares and camps can resume Visiting senior living facilities will continue to be prohibited Both inpatient and outpatient elective surgeries can resume Bars may operate with diminished standing-room occupancy Phase 3: (For states and regions with no evidence of rebound after first two phases) Vulnerable individuals can resume public interactions but should practice physical distancing, minimize exposure to social settings where distancing may not be practical Low-risk populations should consider minimizing time spent in crowded environments Unrestricted staffing of worksites can resume Visits to senior living facilities can resume Large venues can operate under limited physical distancing protocol Gyms can remain open if they can adhere to sanitization protocol Bars may operate with increased standing room occupancy Guidelines for people through all the phases: Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer Avoid touching your face Sneeze or cough into a tissue or the inside of your elbow Disinfect frequently used items and surfaces as much as possible Strongly consider wearing face coverings in public and while using mass transit People who feel sick should stay home. Don’t go to work or school and contact a medical provider
  5. Hello everyone, On the Allure of the Seas, I booked a cabin category Promenade view interior#7323. This cabin located on the back at the ship at the boardwalk. Does anyone know if this cabin has a full size window like those in the typical promendate view cabins or a small port hole window ? Thanks
  6. Good morning everyone Liberty of the Seas amp schedule is to be sometime in 2021. Does anyone know exactly when in 2021? We are planning to go on LOS in August of 2021 and wondering if she will be amped by then. :-) Thanks
  7. I'm wondering can more than 1 ship dock on the same day at Coco Cay? Thanks
  8. Yes, you can arrive earlier, I usually arrive a the port around 10:00 am. Boarding time is around 11:00 am. When I check-in online I also put time of arrival is 10:00 am. Check-in online is always like that asking for arrival time on embarkation day and departure time on dis-embarkation day. For departure time, they use that information to assign you departure luggage tag number. For arrival time, I'm not sure what they do with that information.
  9. the cash you are going to spend mostly is when you are in ports. Plan your cash amount based on what you going to do in ports. Also Luggage valets tips, bus shuttles driver tips (if you are parking your car at the pier)
  10. Just got of Liberty of the Seas last week, when I went to My Time Dinning on deck 3, every night there were very long lines for both with reservations and without reservations. After the long line we got to the host which told us no table is available and we waited for a while for a table. I did make reservation for MTD for the whole week at the same time. Right now the only dinning room serve MTD is only on deck 3. It seems more guests picked MTD instead of the traditional dining time which serves on both deck 4 and 5. When MTD came out years ago, I remember there were not long of a line to get a table the dinning room, but for the last few cruises, I experience long line and waiting time for MTD even when I have reservations every evening. I just filled out the post-cruise survey and suggest RCI to expand the MTD dinning area to at least one more deck. Does anyone here beside me felt that MTD is becoming more popular than traditional time dinning?
  11. this is how heavy the fog is at 7:07 am, about one hour after both Liberty and Vista docked.
  12. I want to give you a first hand experience of the improvement situation cruise ships arrival in the fog at port of Galveston. I'm set sail on the Liberty of the Seas today 3//10. Lastnight local weather has dense fog advisory for Galveston from midnight to 9:00am. I also received text and email from Royal Caribbean telling me about the heavy fog and the ship can be delayed getting into port. This morning I woke up at 4:00am and monitor the Liberty on marrinetraffic.com. At that time I see the Liberty is at Galveston coast moving at around 12 knots right behind it is the Carnival Vista and also the boat Texas which is a pilot boat. Those 3 ships/boat are the only ones which is moving. There are at least 20 other nearby vessels which are not moving. Some of those are tankers and cargo ships. I kept on monitor the Liberty and Vista and I see it is moving as it should even in dense fog and dock at around 6:00 am. I think it is true what being said about the improvement of the pilot ship association and it is good news for cruisers since Galveston port often has fog. Attached is the screen shot from marrine traffic at around 5:00 am. The list of nearby standing still vessels was long I only capture what fit on the screen.
  13. When I said lately I noticed about cruise ships arriving at Galveston port on time even when it is foggy, I meant starting from November 2018. Fog season in Galveston is around from November to end of March.
  14. Thank you ssb. That makes sense, I also thought it has something to do with the pilot boats.
