  1. Someone posted this that is on the current voyage.(Transatlantic) I’m on board now and did laundry yesterday. The token machines were fixed after a 2 day closing of the laundry rooms. $3 token, one each needed for washer and dryer. Washer and dryer I used worked great. Bring your own soap as the detergent dispenser machine is still not working.
  2. My cactus & CC name sign is lightweight paper, weighs less than a top/ shirt! To each its own.
  3. Aah,sorry I did not compile a list for The Sun Princess ,since it technically is not on the new dining program. It started the program since its inception. If you know what I mean. I know it doesn’t help you ,but I am noticing dining on other ships later = more choice of private tables . perhaps all private tables at 5 pm reservations on deck 7 are full? Seems to be a popular time for passengers to dine. Even though you don’t want second seating traditional dining, was it available to book on The Sun Princess at a private table? Or you didn’t look? Thanks.
  4. @555 we’ll darn on nothing you want. have you looked at my thread new dining reservations ship to ship? you can see what others have been able to book already. Private tables seem to be more available later, not late, but after 6 ish for the reservable/ flexible dining room. Varies of course. I would post just your ship information, but I don’t think you have shared that. Also some said to pick dining room first and not time or private or shared table. The other variables are second pick/ choice when making reservations. I don’t know if that makes a difference?? so pick DR, then time, then shared or private table is what others have posted.
  5. I’m meant Royal Princess, but I typed Regal above post. They are “ sister ships “similar if not the same venues. I have been on Regal so it was in my head,sorry…..
  6. As far as a decent perk? Only you can decide . On Regal Princess casual dining is Ocean Terrace Alfredos Vines wine bar as others have said maybe some pop ups offered, check once onboard. What is “Casual Dining” on Princess? Beginning on a rolling basis on August 2, 2023, guests with “Princess Plus” and “Princess Premier” packages will have new prix fixe casual meal options in their ship’s casual dining restaurants included for no extra charge. Those with “Plus” will receive two included “casual dining” meals per sailing and those with “Premier” will receive unlimited “casual dining” meals. Those guests with “Princess Standard” will pay $14.99 for the prix fixe “casual dining” meals or à la carte prices. “Plus” guests will also pay $14.99 or à la carte prices after their first two meals. Restaurants serving the new “casual dining” meals include: Alfredo’s, GiGi’s, Kai sushi, ocean terrace,o’ malleus, planks, salty dog pub, steamers, and vines.
  7. Thanks @Kay S for linking my thread, appreciate it. Also to @eltigre you don’t necessarily have to be paid in full for your cruise to book dinner reservations. Try the web version and book. Or try the app.
  8. What exactly are you wanting to discuss with the future cruise desk? Dinner reservations?? If it’s dinner reservations, wrong desk. So your cruise is August 2024?( new dining scheme doesn’t start til 9-15-24) August 2024 dining is still under current “ rules” Do you have any reservations for dinner? Under current system & new, you don’t have to have a reservation. Are you able to book on the web version? Have you asked your travel agent to help you, if you have one. Have you called Princess to have them book for you.(might be a long shot??) Are you cruising in August of 2025? so I think I am understanding….. You have 2 cruises booked. One August 2024 and 1 in January 2025. You will talk to someone onboard in August about dinner reservations for January cruise and having them help you & your group and linking them. Got it. Sounds perfect .
  9. What have you given up on? Making reservations? Keep trying,so many ways to try. Do you have specialty dining reservations? Is it part of your package? Do you have a travel agent? If you do they will help you. Is your cruise over 1 year away? Too early for reservations if that’s the case.
  10. Definitely can’t convince some that they indeed do have a choice, apparently they don’t like the choice that’s given and they’re going to complain over and over. Like a two year old having a tantrum/ meltdown. But with that being said…..the menu is not the same in the buffet as it is in the dining room -at least that’s what I understood you saying.
  11. The menu is just one of many offered that I posted. Each ship & bar may have slightly different offerings.
  12. I would go ahead and book what you are able,so many passengers have booked dinner reservations and they are not elite, platinum, not paid in full, are first time Princess cruisers, etc. Have your friends/ traveling party do the same( same time as you) with their reservation, just don’t link them now. Try linking together when cruise gets closer. At least you will have same dinner reservation with family or friends & show up together first night of reservation and ask to be seated together if link up doesn’t happen prior to cruising. Be respectful & patient when checking in the first night.
  13. I believe on The Diamond P. The cakes ( usually 3 to choose from) on the plus and the premier package are on deck 14 at swirls. Should be mid ship on the starboard side. coffee menu.
  14. @Luvsnorkeling I think it is the Concerto dining room. once onboard, grab your Princess Patter a.k.a. newsletter, either from guest services or your cabin or look on your app. It will tell you which dining room is open. Usual hours are noon to 1:30 pm.
  15. For those talking about medallion accessories -a pocket or a purse works just fine too. You don’t have to display your medallion. Before the medallion when you had a cruise card, what did you do with that? Did you hang it around your neck with one of the lanyards? I never did ,so I guess that’s why I don’t see what the fuss is about all the accessories . sure if I had a lot of onboard credit which I don’t usually ,maybe I would think about buying one of the accessories once onboard, but I doubt it. I like my normal jewelry. But that’s why there’s choices..
  16. Have you tried the web version? What month, year, and ship are you trying to book dinner reservations?
  17. Well you are booked for dinner, doesn’t matter app or web version, just another choice given. Also not all ships have the same dining room name, just incase you didn’t know. I have another thread called new dining ship to ship. I have explained all the DR and how it will potentially work after September 14, 2024. And as far as the reservable DR,( every 20 minute time slots) you may not get the same wait staff ,you might. Not the idea behind that restaurant. Again might happen. It is meant to make a reservation at a time that suits you, might not be the same time every night, might be,but it allows flexibility. So you could book reservable for 2 nights of your cruise, book 1 speciality one night.Go to the buffet one night, they have nightly theme food. One night you might feel like dessert only at International cafe, etc. 1 night you might want a walk in restaurant because you got back late from a shore excursion and you want to relax & have a drink before dinner or take a shower, etc. Reserve dining allows you to be flexible.
  18. @YVRteacher The Patter & small font… Do you have a magnifying glass icon on your phone? Also have you been to the self service laundry? Heard it’s free, token machine not operating. Could be a rumor.
  19. Yes, I think the staff/crew at guest services and the dining rooms when September 15, 2024 is here, will probably have a headache and need an aspirin tablet . Especially what I’m seeing people post. Some are just going to make up their own rules, but they don’t want to abide by any ,but their own. They want what they had and they’re not giving in. In a previous post, I said that more than likely you’re going to have to remember where you made your dinner reservation ,look in your app etc. and especially the people that have the reserve dining. They’re going to have different times, different days of doing different dinner reservations and I can just see the arguments that they’re correct & the dining room staff is wrong. They’re in the right place and they’re the passenger and they know what they’re doing . Traditional dinner passengers probably not much confusion there. You show up at the dining room at either first sitting or second sitting. And of course, walk-ins no confusion as long as you can find the correct dining room.( look in Patter or app once onboard) We’ve seen those people. Pack your patience everyone. Kindness & empathy go a long way. Of course we all have an opinion,it’s ok. Be respectful of your fellow passenger.
  20. Go to Princess.com log in to account. look under booked guests access cruise personalizer get ocean ready Then it says dinner reservations and download app, but in very small print on the bottom of that on the right hand side it says web version also some mandatory check in features first. On the web version is it under manage my booking?
  21. @mattR here’s some information for you. There will be a breakfast ( limited menu) hangtag that you may fill out and have delivered to your stateroom between certain times in the morning. That is complementary. It does not use the ocean now app ,it’s literally a door hanger that you put out at a certain time ,it tells all the information on the card.
  22. Here is a few sample offerings. each ship may have a different supply, but at least you get an idea.
  23. @YVRteacher love the de -raisining of your scone. I do the same. I don’t like raisins either. And I definitely won’t touch an oatmeal raisin cookie ,but for some reason the scone I will eat and I will do exactly what you do ,pile up those things. Liking all your drinks.
  24. @Boku best of luck on taking your time ordering since you are resolved on traditional dining at 5 pm. ( maybe this is what you want?) If server or assistant is ready for your order, they may not come back for a long time & perhaps forget your entree etc. Hope you are at a private table. You still never said what time you prefer to dine at ( doesn’t matter) and then you’re going to show up late ,just because you’re not happy with the dining arrangements, wow. If you are resolved on second traditional seating may not be a problem, but… No one knows at this time how it will work, but time will tell. sorry you feel your 3 dinning room choice and time doesn’t fit your cruise style, now ,so you will just make it work for you by showing up late! I have no idea when your cruise is, but if you haven’t paid in full, maybe this new dining arrangement and all the choices are not for you and another cruise line might be more suitable to you and yes, we all are entitled to our own opinion, but it is not going to change again without careful consideration by Princess and it takes sometimes years to do that and other lines have done some similar things . change is difficult sometimes.
