  1. Book directly with HAL, then transferred to TA. I called HAL because it has to be verified through the Mariner program. I told her that they bookings had already been transferred to our TA, she looked all of them (7!) up and never said I had to deal with our TA. Since this doesn't affect pricing, I "believe" it's something HAL can do for us without getting our TA involved. If they tell me something different when I check back, then I'll contact my TA but for now, not getting her involved.
  2. Hmmmm. Then I have no idea why some people (like you) had to provide something other than what's on HAL's site. In any case, fingers crossed for all of us with existing bookings that they apply it.
  3. Because I've tried them and they work.
  4. Were you on the APP by any chance? I was on my desktop so it didn't require anything to be downloaded, just fill in our first and last name, email address, Mariner #, birthdate, and AARP #, then clicked on Verify My Membership Status.
  5. Sue - give it a few days and check back. There is nothing that says it's not applicable to existing cruises and the person I talked to at HAL this morning didn't say anything about it not being applicable either. I'm going to give them time to get it on our Mariner accounts, then call back at the end of the week and see how it goes.
  6. Actually you don't. When you click on the link on HAL's site, click on Verify Your AARP Membership, then fill out the few things they ask for and click to submit it. It immediately said it was confirmed and sent us each an email confirming it as well. The person I talked to at HAL said to give it 4-5 days for it all to migrate into our Mariner accounts and then call back and have them applied to all our existing bookings. So we'll see. Exclusive AARP Member Offer | Holland America Line
  7. Others to try - OML and OCR; and if they don't work try EAN23, EBD, MCS23, RCU23 Good luck!
  8. Hi - and welcome to CruiseCritic. Sorry but we're not allowed to share travel agent website or names on CruiseCritic. But you don't need to go to a specific TA's site to take advantage of a promo code. Just go to the Viking site, select the cruise you're interested in, then click on Price and Build and there's a place to enter a promo code on that page. I've found that some codes mentioned on this thread don't work for every single itinerary so I just keep trying them until I find one that works. Good luck!
  9. Yes, but it’s due to expire at the end of July and doesn’t work for some itineraries.
  10. Ran across what I "believe" is a new promo code today on a TA's site so suspect it will be forthcoming from Viking shortly ... at least that's what I've experienced in the last few months. It's ACU23 and gives you a discounted rate and free air. I checked it out on the November 23 and January 24 Hawaii+Polynesia itinerary (the only ones I'm currently watching) and it worked on both. Maybe this will take the place of SUM23 when it expires at the end of July (assuming they don't extend it yet again).
  11. Us, too and you're right ... not the greatest, are they? And they're not inexpensive either. πŸ™
  12. I just checked from my desktop and it let me Build and Price one I've been watching. Maybe try clearing Cookies?
  13. SUM23 promo extended to end of July πŸ‘
  14. In this case, does Viking adjust the price you paid?
  15. We've only sailed once on Viking (Panama Canal) and were by the front elevators which was a smooth ride. Curious how much vibration and/or movement you felt in 4106 - if any - as we may end up in that rear area (but on Deck 5) later this year. Thx.
  16. It appears that all these recent promos end June 30th. Does Viking usually offer any July 4th promos and if so, would you expect them to be any better/different than what they currently are offering? Thx.
  17. It covers more than these ... I talked to Viking on Friday about the HI+Polynesia in November and it's applicable to that one. I'd recommend talking to Viking to inquire about other itineraries one might be interested in.
  18. We just spent two nights post-cruise at the Amsterdam Marriott. Great location, very modern/fresh interior. The room was very comfortable with comfy bed and included unlimited mineral water and espresso machine (like a Nespresso), also free wifi. Onsite restaurants both good. Very knowledgeable concierge staff. Walkable to most everywhere you'd want to go but also directly on tram and bus systems. Close to shops, restaurants, parks, and directly across the street from one of the major canals so easy access to canal boat ride. Have nothing negative to say about it. Check out the senior rate if you qualify.
  19. Ran across a discount code on a few TA sites today … RCU23. Discounted fare and free air. Worked on November 2023 HI/French Polynesia cruise on Star, reduced the PV2 fare by $1k pp. Not sure what all it works on but worth a try. Good luck.
  20. I saw it but we're not interested in the P2P.
  21. Status Update for those with FutureDAM deposits - I called the World Cruise Desk this morning to check the status. They told me they are starting to work on them and would do them in the order of them being received. She said that everyone should be notified by May 18th via email and we will have 5 days to respond and get a full deposit applied. Suspect there are likely a lot of people ahead of us since we only found out about doing the $200 deposits in March so no telling where in the queue we are. And so we wait some more .... but at least we'll be on a cruise (on Zuiderdam, ironically) while waiting! πŸ˜‰
  22. Hi, Rich - Between what you've posted both here and on your Facebook page, we've gotten to "sail" along with you and thank you for sharing your grand adventure. We board this Friday for the TA and British Isles (30 days, a far cry from your 143 days!) but are looking forward to being back onboard Zuiderdam. Too bad timing for your disembarkation and our embarkation won't allow at least a quick hug. Welcome back to the real world and safe travels home. Barb & John
  23. Yes, currently it’s bookable under the HIA with Early Booking Bonus promo which does include crew appreciation.
  24. Good thought but Westerdam is doing Alaska RT Seattle all next summer and all major cruise lines will be gone from up there by the time this one returns. I don't see any cruise lines (inc HAL) sailing from any port in CA to Seattle either.
