I am currently on the Epic, 12 night TA. I have not had a bad meal. All of the staff that I have met have been very nice. I have eaten at all of the venues, except the Italian and teppanyaki restaurants. No problems, except missing Gibraltar.

My vote is for Marseille...shuttle costs $.., not a lot to really do..

Metro is easy to use..look into that.

Lisbon and Barcelona are both very transportation friendly. I have not had the chance to go from one city to another during my travel solo, but I usually stay about 2 nights in the city before or after cruise (usually before). I look for tours thru viator, book lodging thru hotels or booking .com, look thru some guide books to get some ideas. Barcelona, I did all of my own exploring (booked tickets to Sagrada on line before hand), took the train out of town to the Monastery, walked around all over. Lisbon, took a walking tour, enjoyed it so much, booked another one with the guide. Ate at local cafes, walked and explored. Rome, booked an e bike tour at night (What a BLAST), explored St Angelo, etc. As long as you stay aware of your surroundings, do a little research, and enjoy the moment, you should be fine. Stay a night or two in one location, then fly to the other, stay a night or two there. Look for the little B & B, or boutique, small hotels, versus the large chains.

My DH can't cruise anymore, due to health restrictions, but he let's me go. The problem is, that he really doesn't want to hear me talk about it, or my plans of what I am going to do, where I am staying, etc...since he can't go. I do give him the details, in writing, before I go, and I am able to slip in stuff while talking occasionally...but I don't usually have anyone to sound off of, or talk with about the trip... I LOVE going solo...it is my time to relax and rejuvenate from my hectic, stressful life. I usually just chill and read, drink, and eat, and not necessarily socialize. No one else that I know does this, so I am a lone duck. Joining the FB group helps, but I still tend to watch and lurk on the outer fringes. But I would never give it up willingly..

Went there in January (NCL Breakaway). There was another ship in port at the same time (a RCL). The park was a ghost town. That is nice if you don't want to wait long in lines, but after 2 hours, I was headed back to the ship. Here is my opinion on the park... 1. zip line - only about 5 I think..the rope course to get from 2 to 3 was unsettling. There is a hard side (left) and an easy side (right). There is a net walkway (?) underneath. I made the mistake of doing the hard side...big mistake. trying to transition from one kind of step to the next, it was about a 8 to 10 inch drop, and was a reach out...I fell onto the net. Walked about 1/2 of the way on the net (not easy) to find a spot where I could get back up...about another 1/4 way, same thing...bad transition, and down I go...I just used the net walkway the rest of the way. Also, when they geared me up, they have someone else check it out, mine was too loose..They had me point out who did it.. 2. Rollercoaster zipline - The attendant did not know much English. One of the riders got stuck on the ride. After waiting about 25 minutes, (there were 2 guys trying to get her unstuck), someone had to ask in Spanish about how much longer...another 15 or so. I gave up on that. 3. Water slides - I LOVE water slides...here, not so much. I did not feel comfortable, safety wise, with the slides. I tried 3 of the 4 variations (there were 8 total, I believe, 2 of each). I didn't want to try the 4th (with the mat). Some girls were showing me the scrapes they got from it. 4. Lazy river - Waste of time. Extremely slow, I was bouncing off the sides, back and forth to try to get some distance. 5. Pool area - There was another group of 4 there, and that was it. The food was overpriced. 6. Shuttle to go back - If I had known how close we were to the port, I would have walked..waited about 25 minutes for the shuttle. The port area was like a maze. Signage on which way to the ships was so-so... All in all, $120 for this place was a laugh. Luckily I had $50 off with NCL FAS..otherwise, I would not even have tried it out..

Do you know what the cost to upgrade the wifi was, if you waited to do it on board? It is $109. if I do it now.. just wanted to know if it would be cheaper to do it when I get on board. Thanks

I just received the new request in my email, after I had emailed my request in on Sunday. I just downloaded the app, and submitted my stock statement. It said that I should have a response within 2 days with the next steps.

You can just try to manually keep track of how many drinks/what kind and figure out what the cost per drink was, and total it up...same as specialty dinning. That will give you a rough figure of the value of what you consumed. From there you can determine whether or not the package was worth it.

Not all the movies listed as available will be shown..due to duration of cruise, and other activities .The selection of movies usually includes kids (early) and adult (late). They might even show the same movie 2x. Check the app as soon as you get on the ship, and you can scroll thru the days to see what movie is playing on what days/times.

Thanks for the information. I tried to find under faq, but I was unable to access. I like to give the info to family, just in case it is an emergency...I do check my emails daily, but they like to have the info handy.

It usually takes a day for the NCL system to recognize the ID.Me approval. The system has to update. That was in my case, btw.

Is it advisable/easy to get to Florence from Livorno (and back) on your own, or is a ship excursion recommended? Also, we are ther on the first Sunday in December. Is the Accademia Gallery free for viewing that day? Thanks

We will be sailing on the Radiance later this month. I haven't been on a RCL cruise in a long time (only once), and I was wondering... Does the casino use your SeaPass card or do they issue a separate card to be used in the casino? Thanks

I just used my 50th milestone...when I received the confirmation, it stated 25th...when I called about it, they let me know that I haven't used my 25th yet. No problem attaching the 50th to the cruise in question. I still have to find a cruise to apply the 25th to...

I did the same route last December. We took the northern route. We did miss the Azores stop, due to pilot strike in Lisbon. The weather did get a little rough at times..

If we get package for one device, can we log off of that one and re log in with another? It means only one at a time, correct? Thanks

I contacted my guy at NCL to request him to submit for a FCC due to price drop on studio, after final payment. Since then, the balcony price has dropped to below what I originally paid for the studio. Will they let me upgrade to the balcony? How does that affect my request for FCC? Will they still honor original request, and let me pay difference (lowest studio price to balcony)? I put a call into my guy Friday, but apparently he was off..and he doesn't work weekends. It would be nice to know what my options are before I talk to him Thanks

I think what they are saying is that you can't use a statement that is 90 days old. I use the most recent one (last month) or get a print out of current standings of stock. So my statement is usually 1 to 30 days old. No problem using it.

As long as you are able to submit a statement, showing # shares, and with your name on it, it should be ok. Note, the shareholder credit is per stateroom.. If you are both sailing in the room, it will be just one obc., same as if you are sailing solo. You won't both get the full obc.

If one person does it, they will need to know about the financial aspect of the sail and sign account...Is it all going on one credit card, or is everyone responsible for their own charges. Also, if they are using a passport, will need that information.
