  1. You could run up the stairs to deck 18 forward or use the forward elevator. Keep in mind some elevators will not be readily available because of the numbers embarking. Get onboard as early as you can, that’s the key. If you’re late, it will already be filled.
  2. I think the difference is that in the US you are strongly influenced by Mexican cuisine and we tend to be more European. We enjoy Bearnaise sauce on fish and garlic with seafood. Pasta sauce is more herbaceous than hot or spicy. Funny, though, Indian food is becoming popular and I’ve heard it’s very hot. I don’t think I’d like it. I make Chinese food, but it’s not hot. I must venture out and try some hot sauce. I’m willing to try it!
  3. We’ve always used Rome in Limo. Great service. Nice cars. Very, very reliable and highly rated. From FCO to Civitavecchia is approximately $150.00 for a private car. I have no experience with shuttles so I can’t help you there.j
  4. I love this! I love kids, but on a cruise, not so much. lol
  5. Your story makes me sad for you and angry with Princess. How could they just throw you off the ship and leave you both outside in the cold? Completely unacceptable! I would not just let this go. You need for Princess to at least acknowledge the situation, give you all your medical records and apologize profusely. So very sorry for what you and your husband had to endure.
  6. Hi, bland Canadian here. I’ve never heard of most of these sauces! We’ve never even bought hot sauce. What do you put it on? We don’t eat meat, just fish and seafood. Is it really hot so that you can’t taste the food? Sorry for all the questions, but I don’t think this is something a lot of Canadians have in their pantry. lol
  7. Yes! Sorry, we just returned from a cruise in January, not Princess, and our steward removed the contents of the fridge. My senior brain was clearly taking a nap.
  8. It is not included with or without any package. Yes, you can ask your room steward to remove the contents so you may use it for your personal needs.
  9. Right now I don’t see much difference. Same old, same old. The best casino will be the one that’s smoke free.
  10. Thank you again! This has been such an informative and interesting topic. We’ve never even thought about VV as an option and you’ve certainly changed our minds, Well done!
  11. Enjoying your report. We have to hide our suitcases from our dogs when we’re going away and I’ve seen the look on your wee dog’s face many times. lol Very nice photos. I’ll be following along on your adventure,
  12. We have many First Nation casinos and none of them have ever allowed indoor smoking. I guess it’s different in the US. Smoking laws in Canada are very strict, thank goodness.
  13. Yes, it does keep the water colder in the can. Honestly, I just pour my water directly into my stainless steel tumbler. Stays cold for hours. Just a preference for me.
  14. If you and Jo enjoy VV that’s a very good recommendation in my book!
  15. That’s great! Hey, if you purchased the Plus package you can do what you like with those 15 drinks. I would think you wouldn’t even have to hide taking it off the ship. Princess isn’t losing anything. Enjoy your Plus package, we certainly do!
  16. Thank you! We’re not pool people, either, so no problem. We do enjoy some fun activities and we also enjoy our quiet time. We are very much leaning in this direction.
  17. I’m really enjoying this thread, thank you. We prefer Celebrity, but we do sail with Princess on occasion. We think it’s time to move on. May I ask what age groups are represented on VV. I worry that we’re too old and may feel out of place.
  18. Nah, everyone here knows how much I love the Princess Packages. I like to pay for my drinks and not have to look over my shoulder. But, hey you do you.
  19. Actually the little sign attached to the balcony door has always been there and never removed. Our first time on Royal we asked our room steward about it and he said to ignore it and do what we want. lol. So that’s what we do! And, yes the wind can be a real issue. Some days you just can’t use it at all and some days only if you sit close to the doorway. I would never book one of these cabins for a TA. In port, they’re terrific.
  20. Do not worry! We’ve sailed in our favourite of these cabins, L101, many times. We like this cabin because the balcony is actually wider than the cabin due to the fire equipment closet between L102 and 101. Never had anyone close our door or tell us not to use the balcony. Entirely up to you. You will be asked to close your curtains at night.
  21. Actually they are. Don’t they have the new bottles in Florida yet? We’ve had them here for a very long time. Perhaps they’ll catch up soon and you can also be environmentally friendly. However, I’ve just learned from a fellow cc member the reason they don’t allow passengers to bring on any plastic bottles is because some folks think it’s cool to smuggle alcohol onboard in the plastic water bottles. Imagine that! Who would do such a thing? lol
  22. They use the environmentally friendly and recyclable bottles such as we use here where I live. I asked when I was on Regal. It’s all good. See post #8. One of our members explains the real reason. So, there’s that.
  23. Of course there is a difference, You were not smuggling, you were fully prepared to do the right thing. If you’re ignored, then more power to you. It’s nasty when you hide it with the intention of getting away with something you know is wrong. But you know that. You knew it before you asked it. I think perhaps you just enjoy stirring pot a wee bit. lol.
  24. Exactly. Somehow, I think it’s not all about the money. I thinks it’s about the idea of getting away with something.
