  1. Thank you Jamie for keeping her in good shape for us! She’s a beauty!
  2. Exactly! We wandered around for a bit after we left around 9ish and enjoyed our nightcaps, then off to bed. The ship is quite lovely.
  3. This was our first time! We always arrive at the embarkation port two days prior then cab or car service to the cruise terminal. However, our elderly dog is our prime concern and our granddaughter could not take anymore time off of work to come to our home. So, we flew into Newark same day. We decided to use the Princess transfer because we thought it would be so easy. The following four and a half hours were stressful, but I’ll tell you about that at another time.
  4. You will enjoy The Catch experience. Just pack your patience and you’ll be good. As soon as you sit down they bring warm bread with toppings and spreads. Delicious!
  5. So happy to be able to enjoy the Sanctuary. The ship is sailing at full capacity and the children (all 18,412 of them I personally counted) are quite noisy, but enjoying themselves. Everyone is in a great mood and very friendly. Our two cabana neighbours are just delightful young men. They keep us laughing! We just pulled into Boston harbour and it’s quite lovely. More later. Any questions, please just ask and I’ll try to answer. At some point I’ll share our Princess transfer horror story with you. Long story short, five of us were forgotten at the airport. We finally arrived at the ship just before 4:00. Last ones onboard. Nobody even apologized to us, which was disappointing. Anyway, that’s all behind us now.
  6. Indeed there are lots in full sun. As a matter of fact another couple showed up this morning at their assigned loungers and the attendants moved the loungers around to give them full sun. They literally move mountains to please you!
  7. The Catch was lovely. Exemplary service and the food a solid 8/9. However, you must be prepared for a lengthy experience. Half an hour to get appetizers and then an another hour before entree arrived. Dessert another half hour. You order everything, including dessert, at the beginning. We’re there three more times this week, so I’ll let you know how it goes.
  8. Yes! Isn’t it grand! So, so special. We met our cabana neighbours, a young man, his husband and his mother and sister. We’re now doing the two Canadian ports with them! Fun day and six more to come.
  9. A sofa, two chairs, a large coffee table, a fridge, a tv, a ceiling fan and two plush loungers. At tea time we had ours in the cabana. Big tips coming their way for sure. All the attendants are fabulous and can’t do enough for us. The absolute best cruise experience ever and we are so appreciative.
  10. At 200pm the attendant said to leave our stuff and follow them. We thought we were being sent away. They took has to the biggest cabana and said please enjoy your complimentary upgrade for your entire cruise. We have gone to heaven!
  11. Gorgeous weather, the best! I don’t know why, but apparently this itinerary attracts folks who want to spend the day ashore. Lucky us.
  12. Where we live $29 gets you basic fish and chips and nothing else. I think the SD are a fair price and excellent quality.
  13. Right, I forgot about that! Darn it! Do not take the Princess transfer from Newark. Use Uber or cab. when we get home, I’ll fill you in.
  14. We flew into Newark. Big mistake and long story to follow at some point. Don’t do it! Putting it behind us and enjoying the moment. Just waiting for my delivery of Whispering Angel to start the day,
  15. Loving it! The Sanctuary is empty. We had our choice of location for the entire week. Our lovely host said it’s not booked at all except for sea days. At the moment, we are totally alone and loving the serenity. Tonight is The Catch. Can’t wait!
  16. That’s great! We board tomorrow so we will definitely be stopping by to see Bon. I’ll be sure to tell him that you miss him already! Safe travels home!
  17. Honestly, I have not written a check in 20 years. Good for you!
  18. Strange. We recently cruised on Koningsdam and Rotterdam and we commented on how much younger and livelier it was compared to Princess. We we stayed up late every night listening to music having cocktails with some fellow passengers. Now, these were European cruises, so that could be reason. Europeans tend to eat dinner after 9 pm and then socialize the rest of the evening.
  19. Yes, I heard exactly that. I guess we’ll just have to show up quite early to get a table and enjoy a round or two while we wait. The only evening we don’t have a SD booked is the last night, so hoping most people will have already been there
  20. Thanks, Michael, that’s exactly what I thought, but things change on a dime, so you never know. Appreciate the clarification.
  21. Sorry, Tom, I’m a bit confused. You said that on occasion you have been seated in Reserve Class dining, so you must have booked a Reserve Class cabin, right? But, you also say that Princess has never rewarded you with Reserve dining, even after 38 cruises. To my knowledge the only guests who can enjoy this dining privilege are those who actually pay a lot more for their cabin. Am I reading this wrong? As one who has never eaten in the Reserve section, I’m genuinely interested as to how it all works. Thank you!
  22. Not that I know of. It would nice (my kind of music), but I haven’t heard anything about it.
  23. O’Malley’s is a casual dining venue and there are no reservations. We’ll be on Enchanted next weekend and plan on dining there once for dinner. As mentioned, some people go early to get a table, before dinner service, so as to enjoy the entertainment later in the evening.
