There is no road that will save you much time and this way you have decent sidewalks. Once you get to Cap Ferrat the shore gets pretty rocky and steep. The path that goes around Cap Ferrat starts (or ends) further down the road by the plage des Passables. D&N will enjoy that path; it is really beautiful.

It can be if you are looking at it now when it is 11 pm in Rome. It can be closer to one hour in morning traffic.

Follow the road marked as M25 (the name changes) all the way to Av. Ephrussi de Rotschild. It is a switchback there up to the villa. There are sidewalks.

We prefer the convenience of the transfer and the nicer vehicle, but I think the taxi would be just fine. We do take taxis for short rides in Rome with no issues.

Taxis are lined up outside the airport. We have always used Stefano's because of their excellent service, but there is no reason not to use a taxi.

Good plans. You can wait until you sre there to decide what to do with your extra time. The hotel can even help you book something while you are there, like going to Villa d'Este. The taxi from the airport to central Rome is about 50 euros. It is a fixed rate. Also check the Stefano's Rome Cabs website for their prices. romecabs.com In Naples have the hotel call you a taxi. You have plenty of time for your 11:30 flight to Dublin. Ask for an 8 am pickup.

For the 5th day you could also visit the Villa d'Este and Hadrian's palace just outside of Rome.

Actually,that is a very good suggestion. Fly from Munich to Florence. You will probably arrive early in the morning. Enjoy the say and evening there. Next day do your wine tour with one of two options: bring your luggage on the tour and have the tour either take you to Rome or take you to a train station for a train to Rome (Siena or Florence). If you are there on a Sunday, the people (dance afficionados) dance the Sardana in the plaza outside the Cathedral. Anyone who is interested on a walking tour of the Gothic Quarter should look up the "free" tours given by Runner Bean.

It is between the hotel and the Spanish steps. Plot a walking route using google maps. Go in the afternoon of Day 2 or 3. You can also add Piazza del Popolo and Mausoleo de Augusto. The other afternoon you could go to Castel Sant'Angelo. (Same side of the river as the Vatican.) In the other direction near the hotel: Pantheon, the church of San Luigi dei Francesi (Caravaggio paintings), Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, Piazza Farnese. Roscioli Salumeria e Cucina is near the Campo de Fiori.

Those festivals were fun. I also took some cooking lessons at a restaurant near Escoffier's place. Lot6s of fun and good eating. The Escoffier museum is quite an interesting place, good for cruisers 4th or 5th time there. On the subject of Casino supermarket food, it has always been a great takeout. I am a little concerned what will happen to the quality if it switches over to a Hypermarché. As @Hlitner says, we avoid eating or doing much of anything in MC. We did have to take a lot of visitors there at one time, but now we just go back to Nice or any place else.

We lived in Cagnes-sur-Mer a while back, but we are back frequently to visit friends. Unfortunately, it has been two years since we were last there. Got to go back soon!

@D&N That's a great day and fabulous picnic. Too bad about Casino's financial problems. The one in Villeneuve-Loubet was our "home" supermarket. The cheese selection was wonderful. They used to carry some Bellet wines from the smaller vineyards that were outstanding. I hope the business survives.

Write to them and ask them if the private tender includes taking you back to the tender port. For 385€ is worth a try.

I think the problem is that this website is just bureaucracy for local consumption. Everyone in MC will know what agence commercial means and where to buy the tickets. It is not intended for the casual tourist who they probably assume will arrive in a mega yacht and have a Ferrari waiting at the pier. It is MC after all. 🤑

NO. Rome is not Florida. Think NYC with older, narrower, twisted streets and horrendous traffic. There is no way a bus would hang around for two hours while passengers go into the Vatican for a tour. Your ship probably has transfers to central Rome, but it will only be a drive-by of some sights. They will take you to a drop off site, not directly to your hotel unless you stay at their pre-arranged hotel. A private transfer would do what you want, but it would be over 500 euros. And then you are only paying that amount for someone to hold your bags. You still have to buy the Vatican admission tickets separately and pay for a guide separately, or buy a guided tour. And if you do not buy the tickets ahead of time, you have to contend with a very long line to buy them, Just get to your hotel and drop off your bags at the desk. They will be placed in a secure location and will be waiting for you when you return. All hotels do this. A taxi from/to the Vatican from central Rome costs 10-12€ each way and it is a 15-20 minute ride. This is really easy and a lot better than having a limo wait for you. Buy your tickets ahead of time for whichever hour is convenient to you. Or just go sightseeing in central Rome and go to the Vatican the next day. Maybe you could get early admission tickets the next day. This would be a much better use of your money than having a bus or a limo waiting for you. By the way, you can only get into the Vatican through the Vatican Museums entrance. If you want to go to St Peter's, that is a separate entrance on the other side of the Vatican grounds. St. Peter's has a very long security line to get in. It is best to get there very early before the 7 AM opening time. No tickets are sold anywhere for it. It isn't clear want you want. Do you want to tour as part of your transfer to your hotel? Are you looking for a bus tour rather than a private transfer that includes a tour? Rome in Limo and Stefano's Rome Cabs both offer transfer options with sightseeing. There might be ship's excursion that include a bus transfer and tour. But you are staying in Rome for three days. A transfer with an included tour that does a drive-by of major sites or stops at places outside of Rome could make sense, but paying the driver to stay with the car while you go into venues does not. Certainly not to go in to the Vatican which can take at least two hours. You have a better option. Book whichever transfer to your hotel is available to you. Drop off your bags at the hotel and go sightseeing while your room is getting ready. There are lots of suggestions on this board for sightseeing in Rome.

It means "tickets sold by a commercial agency." It means a business, such as a newspaper kiosk, convenience store or shop, that is licensed to sell tickets. (Much like lottery tickets are sold in the US.) Note that the heading of that section is "Carte bancaire - Open Payment." They give you a card that makes debit charges to your bank card for up to 5.5 €/day. They allow 5.50€/day, 15 €/week or 22€/month. Notice that the regular ride is 2€ and this method gives you a discount. The limitation is probably meant to prevent multiple users on one card. You don't want to sign up for that. All the above are meant for residents, not one-day tourists. @Cruzin1616 is better off buying a day pass or "PASS 1 jour (24h)" on the internet. It is good for unlimited trips in 24 hours. Don't mess with anything else. Or else, simply pay the bus driver 2€ for each trip. And, yes, you do need to create an account to buy it on the website. You use it only once. It is simply the info you need to give any business you are paying with a credit card. It is secure. If you get any subsequent emails from them, just "unsubscribe." Buying on the internet is a lot easier than searching for a shop (agence commerciale) that sells them. However, if you want to try, look for any newsagent or small shop near a bus stop.

Maybe it didn't sell on previous cruises? Maybe you are right about the weather in April? Are some of the park admission hours limited earlier in the year? Do they offer it on summer cruises?

I have been there on a driving vacation. This is a new port for Seabourn. Which ship? The peninsula (actually an island connected by a causeway) is very scenic and interesting. There are two main towns, Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole which have long been holiday destinations in Italy. No doubt SB will eventually offer other excursions inland. There are many hill villages and great wineries in the area. But the peninsula and its towns are definitely worth a visit.
