It’s not just you. It’s frankly appalling how the quality has fallen in the past 5 years, particularly since Covid. Most on here will defend them and point to the shutdown, but I fear they have damaged their brand irreparably for those of us who have sailed for many years. The most noticeable aspects on our recent Serenade and Oasis cruises were the lacking maintenance and cleanliness and the food quality.

Silhouette is a newer and larger ship but both are great choices.

I would pay inflated prices for a quality experience, but their service and food has fallen through the floor. After our 3 cruises in Q4 of 2022, I cancelled all future reservations which had refundable deposits. We will sail a couple that were booked under NRD, but I think they've outpriced themselves for the product they are currently providing. We sailed primarily Royal Caribbean for 23 years, but 2023 and 2024, we are doing more land vacations in the Caribbean and Europe. I may still do some sailings when deals are to be had, but I won't pay current prices for current quality. Its a shame.

Royal and X are both falling quickly. It’s very disappointing. I haven’t booked any more sailings. Just sailing on my NRD bookings.

This is very upsetting to read.

I have noticed in some reviews that standard balcony cabins have been refreshed and then noted in others that they have not on the Equinox. The newer looking ones I have seen on deck 8 and 10 have the newer looking couches and grey carpeting while the others have the old red color scheme. Does anybody know which cabins were refreshed when she was revitalized and if there was any rhyme or reason why some were not?

This has become a problem on both the pool decks and balconies. So rude!

It has been abysmal on my last 5 cruises this year. I’ve stopped booking Royal for a while to see what positive or negative comes from the new menu. I don’t eat at places like Denny’s at home, I don’t want that quality food on a vacation. Yuck.

Not using a credit card and simply throwing away free money.

It is definitely not the quality class you would expect at home. Maybe acceptable for somebody who doesn’t have any fitness experience or expectations lol.

Most are $20 per class. I will say that the past few years, the classes are very poor. Taught by somebody with maybe a little fitness background. I have done several yoga and spin classes and have generally left feeling like I shouldn’t have paid for it and would have gotten a better workout on my own. I suggest asking who the instructor is or observing a class before you commit to be totally honest.

There has virtually never been a positive Royal Caribbean change. Never surprises me to see posts like this.

It’s very easy access to the pool area and a flight down to the Oceanview Cafe and Sunset bar. I really liked deck 11. It was just hard to find on day 1 😂

We had 1107 on Milly and loved it. Excellent location.

Of course everybody on this thread would immediately say “I don’t believe that.” 😂. With all of the cutbacks, I wouldn’t be shocked. But if course most on here weirdly and blindly believe that the public company that takes there money could do no wrong.

Agree. Same experience on Serenade.

As Island Lady said, we were on Serenade this month and MTD was a disaster. Lines wrapped down deck 4 past the centrum for both guests with and without reservations by 7:15 most nights. MTD used to work very well, but it has not lately.

We must have been shipmates 🙂. We still had a relaxing time, I was just surprised. Something felt off all week. I expected her to be in better shape than Brilliance and to my surprise it felt a little grungy. I think replacing all the clouded windows and updating the carpet would be a game changer for the ship.

Hopefully they are going to do an overhaul before the world cruise. I was on a b2b the first two weeks of December and she is in bad shape. She is really tired and neglected looking.

You’re just creating more work for them. They touch trash every day. It’s not a big deal.

That’s the new normal on Royal. Windjammer is disgusting- hot dog, burger, and meatloaf type entrees.

Celebrity is definitely a few notches above Royal. Both have diminished in recent years, but Royals has become consistently meh. Royals MDR food reminds me of a cafeteria quality food with a better presentation. Edited to add- IMO you will not go hungry on Royal Caribbean, but you won’t be dying for more or reminiscing about the food once you leave.

It literally makes me SMH the things people do to “status up”. Just enjoy your cruises and it’ll happen eventually. It’s not really logical to overspend or book special trips just to make Diamond earlier. The premium between a balcony and a JS plus single supplement just to get 4 free drinks a day is really something. Diamond isn’t even what it used to be.

No interest in trying this until it’s a couple years old and off season. Some of the features look nice, but it is way too family oriented and will be closer to the Celebrity price point when it is new. No thanks, I’ll stick with X and the older RC ships.

You aren’t the only one allowed an opinions. Ever noticed the name of the site? Go refresh yourself on it. It’s perfectly fine for people to acknowledge they missed the mark on a lot of aspects and overhyped something. Nobody’s saying it’s a piece of junk, it’s just not what was expected.
