Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks. Sorry to be so dense. I had read that before but for some reason, reading directions prepared by others has gotten me confused.( I am traveling with a group of folks and I am the one providing all the info to them on testing , etc. and am trying to be prepared to answer questions.) I have to say, between what the cruise lines require, what Canada requires, and what the US requires, it is amazing that anyone can manage to not get tripped up somehow!
  2. I am sailing out of Seward and will end the cruise in Vancouver so I will need to submit my ArriveCAN info before I get on the ship in Seward. I understand that. I am having trouble with the 72 hour requirement. We sail out of Seward at 8:00 p.m. but we will be boarding five hours earlier around 3:00 p.m.. Do I calculate the 72 using the projected sailing time (8:00 p.m.) or the projected time of getting on the ship (3:00 p.m.)? It might make a difference for us given our pre-cruise travel (which will not be in Canada).
  3. I am confused a bit -- I am asking about what happens at the end of the voyage and I have been quarantined, not at one of the ports. I assume I just go ahead and get off the ship with everyone else....?
  4. I am on a U.S. sailing in June and you can see it is silent about post May 17 help from Celebrity. And it may be just that COVID after then is treated like any other communicable disease that someone contracts while on board (norovirus) In those types of cases where they have you in quarantine and the ship docks, do they just let you disembark and go your own way?
  5. How exactly will this work if you test positive while on board and the pre May 17 policy is no longer in place? If the ship docks while you have been quarantined by the ship, will they just open your cabin door and ask you to disembark? Not saying they should or they shouldn’t. Just wanting to to know, (not a question of insurance per se because I do have trip insurance. Just wondering about the process.)
  6. Can anyone point me to the policy (or to a post on CC) regarding what celebrity will or will not do for you if you test positive while on board and you sail after May 17? The policy posted on Celebrity website details what C will do for you if you test positive AND you sail by May 17 but no mention of what happens after that. I realize they may quarantine you on board for remainder of the cruise, but in terms of the other stuff mentioned in the pre-May 17 policy (offering a place to stay on board if you need to quarantine post-cruise, helping with getting you home, etc.) what can we expect?
  7. I am sailing on June 3 out of Seward and will be disembarking in Vancouver and flying back to the US. I know that Canada does not require A test upon disembarkation. (I realize that there is a requirement before you get on the ship originally.) But the US does require one in order to fly. The following is what I found on the celebrity website where are they specifically address testing for our return home: Re-Entry (to home country) Please check your country's re-entry requirements for specific testing information. We will provide eMED Test Kits for purchase for all U.S. guests at debark to satisfy the U.S. re-entry test. eMED Test Kits have telehealth capabilities in order to leverage a quick and convenient home travel test. Any other nationalities, please check your country's re-entry requirements for specific testing information. It sounds as though they are going to give you your test kit as you leave the ship. When (and where) are you supposed to take the test if you don’t get the test kit until you are leaving the ship and are taking a taxi to airport? I have to have a negative test result to check in at the airport so I cannot figure out logistically how to use test kit between port and airport. I realize no one has done an Alaskan cruise yet, but perhaps this is the procedure on other sailings. So if anybody has any insight I’d appreciate it.
