  1. We are on that same Regal cruise and have booked a private shore excursion with BusyBus Tours. They have advised us that we will in fact be tendering. Your ship will be operating a tender service from ship to shore. Your BusyBus driver/guide will meet you as you exit the landing jetty. They will be wearing a branded Hi-Viz vest and a BusyBus sign on a pole for ease of identification.
  2. You can no longer bring plastic water bottles onboard, but plastic ducks are OK? 🤔 I imagine a lot of those will simply stay in the cabin when people disembark and wind up in the thrash ... Maybe do like wine, and only allow one duck per person. Charge a "quacking" fee for any additional ducks LOL
  3. I'm thinking of bringing my own supplies 🙂
  4. We were offered a very common red or white. We accepted the offer, selected the bottle of red (which we brought back to our room unopened as a balcony wine), and ordered and paid for a proper wine to accompany our meal 🙂
  5. Short answer ...NO. Nothing happens until you actually APPROVE of a new flight.
  6. Let them know on the first night that you would like "no salt" meals. They will deliver the next evening's menu to you for you to make your selection for the following night. They will do this every night so that your "no salt" meals can be prepared ahead of time. p.s. I tasted my wife's "no salt" meals a few times and they actually tasted saltier than mine. I think it is the substitute they use.
  7. What I find "awkward and petty" is someone asking me for a tip or suggesting an amount I should leave. Anyone who asks (i.e. begs) for a tip clearly does not deserve one !
  8. Are you saying they should put on old tapes of the Hal Cats ??? 😁
  9. Posted on the Africa board, but they seem to be rather slow and not much activity, so am repeating here. Stopping in Alexandria next summer and plan on taking a HAL ship excursion to Cairo to see the pyramids and lunch on the Nile. The excursion will be prepaid for. Should we really get some Egyptian Pounds currency before leaving Canada for incidentals during the day if required, i.e. camel ride, photos, tips, etc or can we get by with credit card and American dollars? How much local currency would you suggest?

  11. I hear they might even be thinking of going to finger paints ...
  12. I just wanted to make sure that the door between two connecting mini-suites did not change the layout of the room from standard mini-suites or result in less storage space. My question was answered. Not looking for a bigger suite, just a regular mini-suite.
  13. Thank you very much. The door to the connecting room does not take up any "real" space or no furniture is moved because of it. It seems rather unobtrusive.
  14. Searching for photos of any connecting mini-suite on any Princess ship. Specifically Regal Princess but I think mini-suites are standard on all ships. Cannot find anything on CC or internet search. Help !!!
  15. At that price, they will be gone in a flash .... CALL NOW !
  16. SALE you say??? We booked a 13-night Montreal to Fort Lauderdale cruise on the Zaandam for next September 24 in a Vista Suite on Deck 6. We booked on September 7, 2022. The cabin next to ours on that cruise with the exact same amenities (wi-fi, drinks, etc.) PLUS the gratuities (which we do not have on our package) is now selling for $4,399.32 Canadian $ MORE than we paid. That is a lot of gratuities 🙂
  17. Can't offer any info on that tour but you may want to double check with HAL about your Nicaragua stop. Most cruise lines are now bypassing Nicaragua because of their continued support of Russia. We were scheduled to stop there on a X-Mas Panama Canal cruise and Nicaragua port has now been cancelled. I realize it's another cruise lines, but most lines are doing the same.
  18. Only if it's homemade wine that you so cleverly smuggled on board 🙂
  19. Since Princess and Holland America are closely related, maybe Mr. Padgett could have asked someone at HAL about their experience with Oprah? Just saying ... 😉 These relationships are rarely successful and soon fade away never to be heard of again, just like their instigators.
  20. You can bring as many bottles as you want, subject to a $20 per bottle corkage fee as explained on the HAL website. Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages on board for consumption or any other use except as follows: Guests 21 years and older may bring Wine and Champagne onboard, however a corkage fee of USD $20.00 (which is subject to change without notice) will be applied to each bottle (max 750 ml in volume or less). Limitations apply. Wine brought in quantities deemed to be excessive by the vessel or security will be refused.
  21. You answered your own question. It is hard to know unless the cruise lines publish those statistics and they don't.
  22. A "beer bucket" without beer? Never heard of it 🤣
