  1. Hi Cruisers,

We love Princess cruises and are thinking of taking Regal. When looking at the deck plans, it looks like the promenade deck is blocked off from walking at various points. We love walking the promenade on Princess so would be pretty disappointed if this is true. What is the walking situation on the promenade deck on Regal?

    Thanks for your help.

  2. Hi All,

Thanks so much for all of your responses. No I have still not heard back from "the supervisor" from the Purser's Office. We are in the Panama Canal right now and are getting off in San Francisco--doesn't look promising. I'm not losing sleep over it, but found it curious and guessed you might, also.

I have really enjoyed all of your replies and see how a thread can become fun and take on a life of its own. We are enjoying our trip.

    Thanks.

  3. Hi all on board and at home,

We boarded QE in NYC where we have lived for over 40 years. Before the trip began, we read on Cruise Critic about the problems with the weather out of Hamburg into Southampton and the 6 hour delay in sailing to New York, also of the $50 obc provided to the passengers for their inconvenience.

We received an email from Cunard before the sail date saying the weather was continuing to cause delays and we would have the same situation in New York--a 6 hour delay boarding with a wait in a hotel, but in addition, the QE would not leave until the following evening and we would miss Nassau completely.

We were very disappointed to be sitting in our home city for an extra day and delaying the start of our vacation, but understood the reason since most passengers wanted a full day of tours etc. in NYC.

I went to the Pursers office to inquire if the handful of passengers who were "staying home" on board for an extra day would receive any compensation. It was noted, and I was told that the supervisor was busy and would get back to me. I have stopped in two additional times to inquire about it and have been given similar answers.

We boarded Sunday. It is now Friday. No one has gotten back to me. We are Diamond members so are accustomed to Cunard's high standards and professionalism. Have they adopted the policy that no answer is better than a negative answer?

  4. I have read that the Promenade deck on Royal Princess is incomplete. What exactly does it consist of. The deck plan online makes it look like it goes 3/4 around in a kind of horseshoe. Is that the way it is set up? We love walking around the Promenade deck on Princess and don't want to book a trip and have a disappointing surprise. Thanks for your help.

  5. Hi Cruisers,

We just finished a 49 day cruise on Crown Princess and loved it. We are thinking of an even longer cruise for next year on the Pacific Princess. It is a lot smaller than we are used to and we are wondering what activities are available. Does anyone have copies of the Patter (especially sea days)? We are curious about fitness classes, lectures, movies, and entertainment times in the evening. Thanks for your help!

  6. Hi,

What exactly is Britainia Club? Is it available on all Cunard ships? What are the dinner hours? Is it more costly than other rooms that have dinner in the main dinning room? What are the advantages? Thanks for your help.

  7. Hi,

We haven't been on Cunard for a couple of years and wondered if there had been any changes in the way things are done? Are there still as many formal nights? Are there any casual nights? Anytime dining? What time are the shows presented at night? Are there still captain's loyalty parties for the repeat passengers? Are these repeated for each segment if you are on a very long cruise?

Would love to hear about changes you may have noticed. Thanks.

  8. We have not taken Cunard since Feb. 2013. One of the reasons is the timing of the evening shows. Most ships now have their evening shows at 7 and 9:30 or so. We love Cunard and have had many long voyages on all three Queens. However, after having dinner at 8:30, which is our preferred time, we were often very sleepy in the show and couldn't really enjoy it. Would love to see a show at 7 and go to dinner after.

  9. I read somewhere awhile back that Princess passengers could use complimentary Princess ecards for short email greetings. They said it wasn't possible to receive any responses, but you could send out a brief "Having a great cruise on Princess" or similar message. Has anyone heard of this?

Also. are robes provided in balcony cabins? Thanks for your help.

  10. Hi,

We are going on a very long Princess cruise in a few weeks and want to pack only what's necesary. What bath amenities are provided in a balcony cabin? (ie conditioner, lotion, q tips, cotton balls, etc). We haven't been on Princess in a long time and don't remember. Thanks for your help.

  11. Hi,

It is good to hear other people are surprised at Cunard's new party policy. I wrote a similar post entitled "Live on the QM2--Cunard's new policy" a couple of days ago and received a lot of interesting responses. You might enjoy reading them also. We complained at the time but did not receive an invitation. Maybe our complaint was too soft. In any case, we shouldn't have to whine and complain to get what has always been graciously presented to us for our loyalty. Hopefully this is just a trial on Cunard's part, will be charted as an error, and things will go back to normal in the near future. We are still on QM2 and have about 5 days until back home in NY. So, we shall see.
