  1. hey all - couple questions regarding casinos on Royal, specifically on HOS.

    1. Casino credit. Obviously cash is accepted for chips. But what if you don't want to carry your bankroll onboard. What are the other options for obtaining casino credit?

    2. Poker tables? Talking live action here....not Pai Gow or similar. Does it exist? Yes....I know there are card player cruises out there...

    3. Comps. Anything worth chasing? No...don't need the chasing comps lecture ;)

    Thanks in advance!

Here's a link to obtaining Casino credit for an upcoming RCI sailing:

    https://www.nccreports.com/application/?royalcaribbean

Regarding comps, you'll earn $$ off certificates for every 400 points earned during your slot and table play...free cruise (inside cabin) certificate at 2400 points, free cruise (outside cabin) at 3600 points, and a free balcony cruise certificate at 4800 points. Strongly suggest you talk to the casino host the evening you board to introduce yourself and get details directly from them so you'll know what the expectations are. Usually You'll be granted free drinks after accumulating around 1000 points during your sailing. I'd also recommend you also contact ClubRoyale@rccl.com ahead of your cruise with any questions if you're a serious gambler. Good luck!!

  2. I hope you're right. We were watching the 9 night Navigator for this March for almost a year and there were no grand suites available. After I made final payment on Adventure I stopped looking so I don't know if any shook out after that.

I'd certainly keep checking...esp right around final payment date! For weeks there were no GS avail on my 2/4/18 Liberty...then poof around midnight yesterday one popped up avail...was lucky to grab it! I like the new policy for two reasons: 1) increase suite inventory for those truly wanting to book them and pay for them, and 2) curb the fraud on OBC abuse in booking/downgrading suites. I book all mine thru Casino Royale group so we don't get any OBC due to our player discounts so I'll be curious if we are also going to be penalized for any changes we make on our reservations for a GS or above after initial 30 days....

  3. I'm glad this new policy starting. Know too many folks who brag they've tied up numerous suites thru NCC for future cruises till they decide what they actually want...if you look out into 2018 a lot of sailings already show no suites avail or very limited inventory. This may be from true secured bookings, but my theory are a lot are held, since day after final payment miraculously a bunch will show up available. Maybe this policy will free up more suite availability for everyone interested

  4. Have eaten the short rib a few times..it's pretty good...Think of pot roast in a wine reduction sauce over mashed potatoes....:). But it's not made fresh in the galley...prepackaged product and heated/steamed up before serving. Their 9 ounce filet is much better!

  5. I do not know the correct answer to this one. I have never taken one of the "free" cruises...but it's a great question. Let us know what you find out.

YES you will receive C&A points using free cruise certificates...double in JS and above. Solo sailings will get you triple points in JS and above. Since you always have to pay taxes/fees on certificate redemption it's really not a "free cruise" per se...you've paid consideration, thus you earn C&A points.

  6. Sounds like a very well thought out process.

No business that wants to make profit just gives up on their high $$$ accounts.

Forget about the smoking part, the New CR rules, which will go to phase III very soon and will have an impact on casino revenue.

Lose one high roller dropping $100k, and gain 50 who might drop $100 each to

get a free certificate just won't fly with the bean counters.

Imagine if that $100k bankroll was a smoker;)

I'll continue to stay in Suites, but my spend in the casino will be not on par to what it has been.

And yes D+ and always stay in suites, another one of your gripes:)

Totally agree Graham....I've already stopped gambling anywhere near like I used to...new rules not setting well with me...and if they go N/S they've lost me completely from CR. Oh well...more $$ for suites

  7. Oasis of the Seas check in today and I had a power strip in my carry on. It wasn't a surge protector, just a strip. It was spottted by x-ray and they told me I couldn't bring any power strip or extension cord on the ship since they claim it's a fire hazard. They tagged it and gave me a receipt so I can claim it after the cruise. Not enough outlets in this room.

Try packing in Checked luggage next cruise....always works for us

  8. Mainly targeted CR VIP members w.r.t smoking in the casino

One of TROY's crusades to get Royal to ban smoking fleet-wide

Guessing they are looking at how many high rollers $$$ they will lose if they eliminate smoking in casino

Seeing as the casino is the #1 revenue generator along with alcohol

No relevance to Carnival at all

I got this survey last evening too...afraid royal wanting to risk losing us VIP players for sake of N/S casinos....too bad
