  1. We will be in Amsterdam from 8 til 5. We will be cruising on RCI Seranade of the seas. We want to go to Anne Franks house and also Zaanse Schans.

I know I can't get my tickets to Anne Franks house until 2 months out but I was wondering if we got 1 pm tickets could we take a train to Zaanse Schans in the morning and then head back to Anne Franks house?

I don't know how far Anne Franks house is from the port and I also don't know how long it would take to and from Zaanse Schans.

Anyone know if this is easily doable?

  2. Just got home from our cruise and here is review of Brian Allen's Taxi tour-

He met us at dock as promised with a sign. The ship was over an hour late letting us off but he waited and still gave us a full 4 hour tour.

Brian had a very nice, clean and comfy car. He always opened the door for me every time we got in and out. We drove around a lot of the neighborhoods, saw the monument from the big explosion they had when 2 ships collided in 1917.

We spent about 30 minutes at Peggy's cove and around 20 minutes at the Fairlawn Cemetary. He was very knowledgable about everthing we saw and just knew so much about Halifax in general.

We saw a lot of the city and just had a wonderful time. I would recommend using Brian for a private tour in Halifax.

  3. Hi-

We have never been on the Dawn before and we would like to sign up for the Chef's dinner. I think you have to sign up on board but I don't know where.

Can someone help me with the location and how to get there? (deck etc)

    Thanks!

  4. When I was speaking to the flight attendant on my flight where I only had 2/3 of my seat, she told me that as long as a person can lower the arm on the seat they don't have to purchase 2 seats. I probably could have complained before we took off but as there were no empty seats I was afraid they would have made me take a different flight as the woman sitting next to me was already in her seat. I really didn't want to do that and I would have felt bad trying to make the airlines kick off the passenger next to me.

  5. I was flying to Florida once and was seated next to a very large woman. She fit in the seat with the arm down but her leg and arm squshed under and over the arm onto about 1/3 of my seat. I'm not small(150lbs) but not huge either. I had to sit sideways with my hip crushed against the arm(I had an aisle seat). Very uncomfortable and I ended up with a bruise on my hip. There were no other seats to move to so I stood in the back of the plane whenever the no seat belt sign was on. I wasn't rude and I didn't complain but the flight attendant did apoligize when she noticed that I had to stand for most of the flight. In this case I don't think it was fair to me but I know if I had said something I would have been discriminating against the woman next to me. Just saying sometimes it is just common courtesy for someone who takes up a lot of your seat to offer to stand for a little while so the other person can sit comfortably.
