There is more to this story.
Surprised they did not get an cancel email.
Carnival offered to give all their cruise money back. They said no.
We are not seeing something here.

Coming from the States, it's a long distance to travel with a bottle of wine and subject it to altitude and temperature changes. Plus, we're stopping elsewhere in Europe beforehand, so I don't want to lug it around.
Sorry, I was assuming you could buy some good wine locally just before boarding the ship

Why not bring it onboard with you and avoid the taxes?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Coin in and money spent are two very different things.

We do two bottles and drink it in the room and or fill a glass to carry when are out and about. You can also carry your glasses of wine to the restaurant.
Rest might charge corkage fee.

I find the burgers as "basic". Much prefer (insert almost any fast food here).
BUT - that breakfast burger is really good, and very filling.

It is per cabin. You will not have any problem.

And, with just a handful of suites to start with, not many are going to win, at any price.

we are 70 and going on #3. Should be fine.

Actually,, some like NCL do count casino/comp cruises. After all, in the end, many gamblers pay more than others - LOL!

the port will be open soon. Very soon.
Bridge rebuild? Years.

We have done 20+ cruises. Never did laundry onboard. And most of them we did carry on only. Guess we just are different or weird.
(okay, we have hung bathing suits and coverups in the shower)

YMMV
For sure.
The airline is not obligate to get you on the next flight at all. You missed it.
Next flight could be full, or ask you to pay current fare.
Sometimes it works out - but not always

As said. takes time.
And next time, include ATHENS in your subject/title to get more responses.

Take the risk. In the worst case, you miss that flight and leave the next day, which is what others are encouraging you to do, anyway. You might also consider seeing how often that 9:15 flight takes off on schedule. Maybe it's perpetually late leaving.
Above statement is true.
BUT - what is the cost for a last minute flight home? Airlines may or may not give you a break, but usually they sell a seat at the CURRENT price. and if sold out - tough. and of course a last minute hotel booking.

We are exiting our July cruise in Athens. It says we arrive at 6:30 am. Is it reasonable to think we could exit the ship immediately and catch a 9:15 flight from Athens? We are having a terrible time finding a different flight from Athens to London. When I called the Cruise Ship they only said they can note we need an early disembarkment. What do experienced cruisers think, Is this an impossible task to think we can make a 9:15 flight? THANKS!
the bigger question - what happens if you miss the flight? Are you ready for those options? (my odds are 8:1 against you making it)

for hotels, there are other boards here for ports of call that might help

For the vast majority of us that booked a year out - the dinner reservation is exactly the same.
-
Based on what others have done, we are just doing Uber, so no worry about the correct pickup time, or getting off way before the driver shows up.
We have an 11:40 flght from FLL and plan to leave at 8am and call uber once we are in the customs line.

This is a serious data breach.
Not sure how serious it is, but a data issue either way. Yea, we do not want to share this stuff, but to assume this is now available to "bad actors" is not the same.

I would stay on or near Ramblas. With jetlag you may want to walk around anyways to stay awake until bedtime, otherwise you will be up at 3am. Either way, you have all day Thursday free and you can tour around. Ramblas is maybe $20 ride to ship.

And they still change it if they need to.
-
Since there are so many variables, I would go with a later vs earlier time. Are you talking about a paid pickup or a friend?
and where are you headed?

Good reminder not to share your travel info on the internet

Okay, it appears they offered a future credit, not a refund. I get why they may not accept that.
BUT - there is still something missing here. Hard to even call this a scam, unless the new person in the cabin did it. Nobody else would gain one cent from this happening. Nothing. Not a scam.
As to Carnival being at fault. Nope. If I post my bank account info online, the bank is not at fault. Right? Same thing here.
I am rather surprised that an email would not come from Carnival confirming the change in reservation status.
Why would someone do this?
Maybe someone dislikes her so much, they did it.
Maybe someone has nothing else to do and decided to mess with her.
Maybe someone wanted that cabin, and did it.
Maybe Carnival messed up and cancelled it - though they say they did not.
Again, there is more to this story that we are not hearing about.
