  1. You really should the phone back to that lady. She is still looking for it LOL!
  2. Maybe. But that is big assumption. This may be an indirect way of raising prices. (might be a small assumption)
  3. As to the 1 star on App store - that may or may not be accurate. Many folks never post reviews or ratings. And if the app does not ask you to rate it, then no rating. And of course, as said, it does not work well until you board. Once folks get home, they surely do not use it anymore. As said, it seems to work okay onboard.
  4. You will not starve. There are still other options besides the dining rooms that need reservations. There are usually some other times if you do not mind eating later. And as said above, they release many more once onboard.
  5. As said above - only on the first day you embark. similar to many other cruiselines -not all. I know some folks bought some at one of the stops and argued with the staff coming back aboard that they did not do bottles when they first boarded, so wanted to do them now. Nope - that would be a logistical nightmare. Based on my last two trips - they check your bag during embarking the first day and then waive you through. They do even keep track who brought them and who did not.
  6. Personally, I would not get too hung up on distance, or walking. Get a hotel on or near Ramblas and take a cheap taxi to the ship
  7. 100% chance the price will change next month. YOU have to decide how much you want to gamble on it going up, or going down. Supply and demand at work.
  8. Scammers are everywhere. Hard to tell if she just bought this from someone that had the credit card or if she was the person with the stolen card. In any event, she KNEW something was wrong. Booking something like a cruise where they check and double check ID, credit cards, etc is just plain stupid.
  9. With the limited seating vs the larger showrooms on other ships - I think this might be a fail. Making folks line up is nuts. Then again, Bingo is first come, first served as we found out last time we tried to play.
  10. i will also add that Viking Ocean is similar, but a bit more laid back and big older crowd.
  11. As a wino - the brand of wine seems to change is some restaurants and/or bars. But they still have the regular stuff.
  12. too bad you will not be spending a few days in Barcelona. Great city.
  13. To be fair - I would assume you also played with real cash as well. So - hard to say if they counted the play with sailer loot or not.
  14. Based on various promises, comments and lack of action, any guess will be FAR from EDUCATED. I forecast this thread will be full of what people think they should do and comparisons to other cruiselines.
  15. since you have a 2 week cruise - does not really matter what you book first as you will be hitting all of them, and more than once for most.
  16. That would be a very tight turn to go right. check this map view
  17. I am amazed at how complicated folks want to make this. 1 - Passport is not needed on closed loop cruises as per the U. S. Government. 2 - Virgin has been big on requiring it, but has loosed up a bit if you have govt ID and birth cert. 3 - If your ONLY id is going to be a passport, then the 6 month rule kicks in. 4 - What any other cruiseline says or does means close to nothing. 5 - Virgin has their requirements right on the website. 6 - And yes, there are good reason to take a passport, even if not required. And please not get into the argument about leaving it on the ship or taking it with you. That argument is as old as a few other things that will not be resolved in our lifetime.
  18. Yes, others still count. I had many "almost free" on NCL and reached Plat level. And they often had separate lines for casino checkin. They should at least allow us early boarding if you have status.
  19. Being a newbie, let me give you some good advice. Scroll down the page and read various posts. they will cover those questions and others you did not even think to ask.
  20. Another nice thing about Virgin... not once did I have to say no to a photographer. And the even better part? I do not have to dig out that big box of photos back when we would take lots of them - and never see them again. LOL!
  21. thank you for sharing. Informative and interesting. Hopefully your Dad was able to "witness" it from afar.
  22. There are many posts if you scroll down the page abouts passports. They also list the requuirements on the Virgin website.
  23. We gave GE but cruise ship return are quite different than airports. They often just look at our passport and we keep moving. Other times they scan it, but overall, not too bad.
  24. Just look for ground transportation signs. will not be hard to find. And do not rule out Uber as some shuttles take forever.
  25. 3pm flight? enter lounge at noon and drink till flight time.
