First Celebrity cruise and I screwed up the move up offer
compozer replied to compozer's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I saw that I can modify my bid up to 2 days prior. But no luck. That slide indicator will not move at all. Nothing indicated that it is pending. That is why I can’t figure out why the original bids keep popping up. Thanks -
First Celebrity cruise and I screwed up the move up offer

I have been using that all week. I put in our booking number and last name. It looks like it is going to do something but goes right back to the page I have to put my name and booking number. So frustrating. i don’t believe it is in pending yet. The next step before I stopped was to add my payment and as I said, I wanted to wait and research the cabins. thanks for trying to help -
Last week I received an invitation to bid on an upgrade. I put my bids in and then decided I should research each of the cabins. Two days later, I received another email asking if I still wanted to bid. I pulled it up and my bids were still listed. The more I thought about it, there was one that I wanted to delete. Could not figure out how to do it so I did the “back” key. The page came up but I was not able to change anything. I clicked on forward (or whatever it is called). And was back at my bids. Figured I had to go ahead with it BUT the block at the bottom right where it has continue was not highlighted and thus I could not click on it. I searched and search and finally called Celebrity. she said the move up department does not have a phone but I could email them. She gave me the email and I tried five days ago. Nothing. It is the same email that I received notifications from. So I even tried to reply to those emails the same afternoon.. Nothing! Is there a way to resubmit my bids? I went back to the original email and clicked on “bid”. But my bids were always there. No way I could change any of them. I am a long time Princess cruiser and am so use to their website. I really don’t care for Celebrity’s. Like having to call to make a flight change- - love doing it myself with Princess. Also, I still can not find how much OBC I have. any ideas how I can still bid - I am a month out. Thanks you so much.

Merg1125, I have been thinking of getting new hard sided ones. Since you were a luggage store manager, can you recommend a good medium priced brand to purchase? We also use zip ties. And I always carry duct tape on each trip. I have used it several times on our luggage for the return trip - not purchasing replacement luggage in some foreign country.
-
Geezercouple, Totally agree. I also worry about stuff falling out if a piece is really damaged - like the picture. That kind of is one of the reasons I thought about the cover. I pack everything in cubes. I do put our contact information paper inside the netted section. Would I be overthinking it to put one in each of my cubes? Still remember in Barbados when a young lady’s bag was opened by the custom’s guy. Everything fell out on the floor. Some embarrassing items. What a mess! After our bags were left on the tarmac for 45 minutes in a terrible rainstorm and everything was wet inside, I decided to put everything inside a large garbage bag. Did that twice but it was a pain. Guess it is time I start buying lotto tickets so I can charter my own plane.

Flyer Talker, our hard sided bags were some of the first ones that came out. If I were to purchase again, I would do some research. i would be making the covers - not plastic. I have some heavy fabric with some stretch. The damaged bag (not real cheap ones) has several places where the fabric has been scraped away, and both upper sides have the seam and cording ripped open along with each upper corner dented in. And one side of the side handle ripped off. I know we don’t need matching bags but i usually buy two or three bags at a time and get matching ones. I get new ones every three years or so. i would like them to last one last trip and will get some new for our March trip.
-
The main reason I am asking is because we have two matching pieces that have been damaged and I am worried that they may fall apart - not really that bad but I was thinking of making a fabric cover just to protect the case so it does not get any worse. I do need to purchase new luggage but I don’t have time to research bags before we leave. And I won’t get hard cases. Both mine cracked by the fourth trip. Thanks for all your replies.

I am so tired of my suitcases being damaged and getting so dirty that I have been thinking of either purchasing suitcase covers or making them. Anyone use them? I use to put those straps around my bags but every time tsa inspected my bags, the straps were not on them when we picked them up.. Do the agents put the covers back on or just leave them off? Hate to spend money on them if the agents do not put them back on. i have also wondered about the bags that get wrapped with plastic wrap. Does tsa just cut those off?

Since the terminal roof was damaged in the hurricane a week or so ago, we need to go to a different port to drop off luggage. They say they will bus us to the ship. Nothing from Celebrity yet on this, I posted a question under the South America section asking if any one has experienced it but no reply’s yet. I always take my carry on with me. i have too many valuable things in it and you never know how long it will take for them to deliver your luggage to your cabin.

Just wondering how smoothly embarkment is going this past week. The only information I can find. (Nothing from celebrity but we do have 4 weeks to go): Passengers will check in at Pavilion 6 of the Costa Salguero property near Costanera, where they also will drop off their luggage. Then they'll be transferred to the cruise terminal, where they will undergo immigration procedures before embarking. I know we will find out in a couple weeks but wondering if we are suppose to go a little earlier than our assigned time. I am a very organized person and want everything spelled out so I like to know things upfront. I don’t like surprises when I travel. Thanks

I just booked transfers through viator. Suggestion from my Ta. Very easy. $60 https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.viator.com%2Ftours%2FBuenos-Aires%2FBuenos-Aires-Airport-Transfer-EZE-Buenos-Aires-Downtown%2Fd901-60494P1%3Fpid%3DP00084667%26mcid%3D42383%26medium%3Dlink%26campaign%3DEZETransfer%26fbclid%3DIwAR0n-sY_B8ykmT0iDpi3yFPQa-Rsp063F8n-o9vY34_QkbGkrpSekMTSDIw&h=AT0o2D_xv1wvDKRuLt8MucXI-1ivO7RX8JZ8-W2_LLQUD9aU5cZ_MpSPRTMtM7yOYHz-QvPz14uEIR-GmddDYo0GxyFxNXDe0SnGk2PamfSfuIFYGosZjjMH1SlQY4HB -

Have you paid the fee and if so, was your credit card charged? did you receive an email after you sent it in? I just did ours three days ago and it says submission successful.

Thanks so much for your fast reply Davenport. I really appreciate it.

Moknows, my son spent two hours helping Me do ours last night. They kept rejecting my picture and he kept resizing it. He finally got a png to work after 45 minutes. Now I have a question. I received a confirmation email saying my payment was complete and there’s a sentence that says you can now follow the status of your application here. Here was in red so I clicked on it. It says sorry you have been blocked. You’re unable to access vfsevisa.com. What in the heck is this about? Anyone else have this happen? Thanks

None on the Royal three weeks ago, they just had very small olives. But the bar near the pool grill had large olives. Go figure! Really miss them

Thanks Torquer. I searched their website many times but never found that page. You are right on the money. Not my choice of airline but we are doing a tour and that is what the company arranged for us. Thanks again.

We are flying from Buenos Aires to Aguru Falls on FlyBondi. seat selection i8s available for a low cost and rows 1-3 are a fe dollars more. They advertise: Now by purchasing seats in rows 1,2 AND 3 for domestic flights, you will have INCLUDED a sweet combo on board! By selecting seats from that row, you will be able to show your boarding pass on board... What is a sweet combo? thanks.

We will be staying in Australia a week and a half before our cruise. I like to have a occasional drink while dressing for dinner - different varieties. So instead of getting a large bottle, I was wondering if we are allowed to bring 12 or so mini bottles into the country. We have a large supply at home. Would that count as one bottle? It still would be less volume than a large bottle. I just don't like drinking the same thing every night. Thanks so much for any help

Advice needed: Land Tour Australia
compozer replied to Worldtraveler 4727's topic in Princess Cruises
There is no “read more”. At the end on our itinerary. It is very frustrating that we can not get any info regarding our land portion. Bob Wood’s tour group does not answer our questions. One time they came back with call Princes. And of course, no one there knows anything. -
Thanks Capriccio, I have peeled off the labels on several of my meds and stuck them onto the small baggies.
