  1. prmssk, Wow, I like your advice. Thanks Not sure who looks at the result - the desk person at the hotel?
  2. Thanks WAvoyager, We all are boostered. I always need a plan B and lately, I have also had a plan C. With so many flight issues lately, a concern is: what happens if our flight is delayed and we get in after midnight? Then it is really 4 days. The pharmacist was concerned that it would take three days to get the results but it really does not matter if we don't get the results until we arrive in Fairbanks.,
  3. Princess states: The test must be medically observed and can be an antigen test taken within two days of the start of your tour or a PCR test taken within three days of the start of your tour. We arrive in Fairbanks at 8:45 pm on Tuesday. I called Walgreens to make an appointment to be tested on Sunday. The pharmacist suggested that we do the PCR test on Saturday instead. She said several customers say they had issues with the rapid test not being good enough for their travel. My son and I have to teach a scuba class Saturday afternoon so we would need to go between 9 and 10 am. That is within 3 days as stated in the Princess letter. I am just worried they will say it is over 72 hours. Will we be ok??? Do I need to print out the updated covid testing rules stating within three day?? Technically is it within three days?
  4. How frustrating!!! I am so sorry they have to go through this. Please keep us updated. Hope they get a nice upgrade.
  5. We leave in a week and will be on the train. One person traveling with us gets cold very easily. So I am a little concerned. I had a flight several weeks ago that was freezing and the flight attendant said there was nothing they could do - no blankets. I was in light Florida clothes and it was the most uncomfortable 3 hours. Did you or others complain to anyone on the train. They must have heat since the trains run all winter.
  6. I tried to do it a while ago and it would have cost me more. I would have to give up great EZair flights and lose some OBC. SO your TA is correct!!
  7. I love to dress up and we are taking my son and his fiance. She is excited to dress up and purchased a couple new gowns. Not sure if it will be a tux or white dinner jacket for the guys. I always set out clothes early and then check the weather two days before we leave. I usually skip a few things but we still take more than we really need but I don't are. I did a diving trip earlier this year and packed really light - I hated wearing things over and over.
  8. I love working with AMEX travel. They really helped with my fights when I was in quarantine on a dive trip.
  9. I had some of both that I can not see on my personalizer. But all of my FCD that I had put towards cruises that were later canceled, are no where to be found. I need to list them all and double check the list the gal gave me so I can figure out what is up with them. I told my TA to cancel the transfers way before final payment but for some reason they were listed and I paid for them. I never take them and with four of us, a taxi will be much cheaper and then we don't have to wait until the bus fills up. So my TA sent me a note two weeks ago that Princess was going to credit my CC. The credit has not appeared on my account.
  10. Yes, that is what happened to mine
  11. Thanks. We were on the Enchanted for 10 days late November and I stopped down at the future Cruise desk and she printed off a copy of my FCC's and it was completely different than what was on my personalizer. I had so many FCC's and I wanted them applied toward this Alaska cruise. She said my TA had to do that - how could she when my TA could not find them. Luckily final payment was a few days later and we managed to get most applied. I went back the next day ( last day of cruise - I should have stopped down earlier) but she was busy helping passengers in the lounge. I plan to check on all my missing FCD's early on this cruise. I have started screen shots every something changes. I am sure the other 2 will show up soon.
  12. I still am dealing with this. We each have 5 that are not back on our account.
  13. We are not doing the gold dredge combo. Everyone seems to have different excursions so it is hard to compare.
  14. Our hotel showed up in the personalizer at 21 days. I wish they would also give us the itinerary for the first day. Do we have any time before we board the bus after the riverboat cruise ?
  15. Wow, that is super. I hate those orchids. Love the fresh flowers.
  16. Before we started getting the drink package, we always stopped at brought our own - caffeine free. We put them in a cardboard box and put a luggage tag on them. Always brought duct tape to tape them up. Last time we still brought a 12 pack. I always print a couple extra luggage tags - never know if you may need one.
  17. For some reason I brought along an old sewing kit. Hardly have ever used them but wouldn't you know I need to sew something last cruise and luckily I had my own. So I will bring the sewing kit for my next cruise.
  18. yes, liquid soap at the sink. No small containers of lotion, just large one by sink. No sewing kit. Had to ask for a shower cap. No shoe horn, Can't remember all but they really have cut back.
  19. It might not hurt to call. That is if you have time to be on hold for 2 hours. Maybe you will be connected to someone that would do them for you.
  20. Congratulations on your Anniversary. This year is also our 50th Anniversary. Where did all the years go?? I forgot to buy them on our last cruise and tried to buy some FCD a couple days after we returned. They said no. I said I have bought them several times a week after we returned from cruises. She said they just changed the rule.
  21. Last time, the bag I kept on the train and bus was larger than what they say you should have now. Half the seats on the train and bus were empty so it was no problem. I will be able to get it in a small bag. Again, not that big of a deal but why can't they send it to us now through email - not like it will cost them postage.
  22. They say to keep your hand carried item with you - your meds and important papers will be in there. Not sure if I want it under the bus. But again, the riverboat is not like the train or the bus with room under your seat. I know they have done this millions of times and it all works out but I like everything spelled out before I leave home.
  23. Thanks so much skynight for taking the time to reply. Yes, you have it correct. That is what I figured would happen. We have been trying to do this for three years and I screwed up not going in a day earlier. We always go two days early for cruising and earlier if there are a lot of sea days right away. As with everyone these days, the airlines have been playing games so things could still change. I wish the land portion itinerary was available for us now. thanks again.
  24. Yesterday, Princess finally updated the itinerary telling us we will be staying at the Riverside Lodge in Fairbanks. Figured that was where we would be but I was waiting for it in writing. We are doing the Riverboat cruise the morning after we arrive. It says it is 8:00 to 1:00. Then we have a 3 hour coach ride to Denali Wilderness Lodge. Next, it says we have the afternoon at our leisure!! ON the bus!!!??? What time does the bus leave? As soon as we get off the riverboat ? Check out time is 11:00 - so I assume we must take our hand carried tote on the riverboat - and some bags go toward the ship and others to the Denali lodge. Our flight arrives at 8:30 pm but I know others come in much later. When do they plan to fill us in???? I am a planner and want to know things up front. We have friends that live in Fairbanks and want us over for a BBQ - don't think that will happen but we would like to see them for a few minutes. Will there be any time when we get off the riverboat? Can anyone fill me in our your experience. Last time we did this, we left from Anchorage so this is completely different. I really appreciate any replies. Thanks
  25. What is a CT value? CT stands for “Cycle Threshold” and indicates how many times a machine needed to try to copy a particular virus’s genetic material before being able to detect that material on a particular test called a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test. The CT value can be looked at as an indirect indicator of the amount of viral genetic material detected from a particular specimen on a particular test at a particular time. In general, a lower CT value indicates a higher viral load in that specimen, and a higher CT value indicates a lower viral load. I have not heard of any other countries using this. If you test positive In the Cayman's, after 10 days in quarantine, your CT value needs to be above 32 before they allow you to get out of quarantine. I had no symptoms but my CT value started at 15, 7 days later it was 27, and when I hit 32.6 they allowed me to leave. I was not allowed out of my room. They set a table outside of my door where I could grab my food. I was told if I did not follow the rules of the government, I could be fines $10,000 and put in jail for 2 years. It was 12 days of hell. It was not cheap - $3000 for the room. So make sure you purchase insurance. Last minute flights are very expensive.
