  1. If you booked with Southwest, you can cancel it anytime and get credits back on your account that never have an expiration date. I've done that many times and have credits from a couple of years ago that I'm still waiting to use. You cannot get actual cash back but you can get credits back for future flights.
  2. We had an issue with Viator on the first cruise from the Bahamas after the shutdown. The person was over an hour late to pick us up, we were a little worried we weren't going to get back to the ship on time. Plus they took us to a different beach than what we had booked. We pretty much lost our faith in ever trying them again, I know people give them great reviews but one and done for us.
  3. I had the same experience. I fell and twisted my foot and ankle on the ship (Freedom) and had xrays in Medical and was not charged a penny. We also had travel insurance.
  4. I live in Wisconsin and I do the same thing! As soon as the snow melts I start wearing my flip flops as well. We just got done with a week of brutally cold weather so I would be thrilled if it was 60.
  5. I am a definite overpacker. Usually take a couple extra of things, even swimsuits and dinner clothes. I like choices. And I pack for my husband as he probably would forget half of what he should bring. I am very anal when it comes to packing, and have a spreadsheet that I just change for each cruise as needed and check things off as they are getting put into the suitcase.
  6. We go to Paradise every time we are in Cozumel. I just go to their website and book the all-inclusive straight from there, and then just catch a cab at the port to go over there. Very short cab ride. Definitely our go-to while in Cozumel.
  7. We are guessing it is 65. I am 62 and my husband is 65 and it shows the 35% off for him but not for me. Same with any of the rest of our party that is over 65 versus under 65. That said, when we book a cruise if there is a senior rate then I qualify even if he is not there because that starts at 55. So for whatever reason the senior rate on the DBP is 65.
  8. We saw 35% off for anybody that was over the age of 65 on our upcoming cruises. For those of us that are under 65 it was whatever the sale price was for this current sale. So we actually had two separate prices for the two people in the cabin, one was 35% off and one was 25% off.
  9. I just redid an excursion in Roatan for $20 pp less than what I originally paid. Also some other excursions I was watching are cheaper as well. Unfortunately, the bev package is still the same b0go 50% off. I am still hoping they go down more but we'll see.
  10. Before covid it was so much better, they had one floor of the dining room strictly for MTD so you never had to go through everything you have to now. I still prefer my time but I really wish they would go back to the old way of doing it to alleviate all the lines.
  11. Condolences on your loss. Royal did the same thing for my daughter after her husband passed away. She was able to use his existing FCC on her next cruise.
  12. Exactly. Today it would not have mattered what time a flight was unless it is very late this evening. So to say never book till at least noon (or 1 or 2) or after, it would not matter in some situations, like today. The airport will be a nightmare tonight once the ships finish docking and allow passengers to get off.
  13. I was injured on Freedom about a year ago and broke my foot (my fault, turned wrong and my foot went sideways) and went to medical. There was no charge because I got hurt on the ship. I fully expected to pay and also had trip insurance, but we asked and they said it would not cost anything. So guessing you will not be charged for an accident on the ship.
  14. Making sure to keep her phone in airplane mode. As Biker said, use wifi calling mode with phone in airplane mode and she can text or call via the wifi. I do this all the time when I am on a cruise without my husband.
  15. Yes as long as the dates of the cruise are within the policy dates and no pre existing
  16. That is the policy we always book. We are 64 and 61 and price was the same 280 pp for the year. We had a couple of claims last year unrelated to cruising but for other travel issues and they were very quick to pay our claims. As of yet we have not had to file anything medical fortunately
  17. Condolences on your loss. We did a burial at sea in December with our daughter after her husband passed away unexpectedly. Royal does a great job with it I think. Our daughter will always remember this special monent as I am sure you and your family will. May you find peace.
  18. I wanted to share this because so often we read about bad customer service, which I personally have never experienced. We had a cruise booked leaving March 26th out of San Juan on Voyager. We had an annual trip insurance to start March 15th (my fault, I dropped the ball and had a few weeks lapse between policies), as we always carry an annual policy. My brother in law passed away on March 9th, so during the lapse in our policy, and the service is scheduled on March 30th, while we should have been on the cruise. We decided with a heavy heart to cancel the cruise so we could be here in WI for the funeral. (We are still flying to PR as planned and will spend a few extra days there before coming home early) I totally understood we were going to lose our cruise fare and just get refunded port fees, taxes, gratuities, and cruise planner items and was at peace with that, because what do you do? We needed to be here as both our families are extremely close. But my TA who also happens to be my sister went to bat for us, and Royal agreed to let us move the cruise with no penalties, so we just scheduled a different cruise at a different time. All the monies transferred, the OBC transferred and they waived the $100 change fee, we were definitely after final payment. We do cruise quite a bit so it was not a big deal for us to book a different cruise. I would have been fine either way since we knew we were outside the refund window, but certainly appreciate them doing this for us so we lose no money. It took the sting out a little of having to cancel a cruise that was 2 years in the making, sometimes life gets in the way for sure.
  19. @brilloheadat Maya Chan do they have loungers with umbrellas other than those hard wooden chairs? It looked like they did from the pictures but want first hand confirmation. Those wooden chairs are a total dealbreaker for us but would love to try it there. We normally go to Nohoch Cay. Thanks!!
  20. I agree. We have a heated matress pad and a heated blanket on the bed but those morning showers are tough!!
  21. We live in WI, winter the furnace is 69 but I am always in sweaters with a blanket over me. Summer our air is at 77 or 78. More to keep the humidity out in the summer. I would keep the furnace higher but with the cost of propane I would rather cover up with a blanket!
  22. We are D+ and always buy the DBP. Our last cruise our granddaughter was with us so we used our vouchers to get her any non alcoholic drink that she wanted. The Deluxe beverage package pretty much covers anything you would want so as someone else mentioned, you can always gift people a drink using your voucher. And of course we always tip whether we're using our package or our vouchers.
  23. Yes they were very responsive with us as well. I hope everything goes as smoothly for you as it did for us, and my sympathy on the loss of your loved one. One of my sisters is also my TA so she took care of all the legwork for us.
  24. No cost. It only took about 15 minutes but I think we could have spent more time had we wanted to or if we had wanted like some sort of prayer service or something. Our daughter lives in Florida so we did not have to fly and they never looked at it at all through security at the port even though she had the paperwork with. She just had the urn in a tote bag type of thing that we carried on. She did fly with the urn this summer to get home to Florida and they did check the urn at security at the airport but it was not an issue at all
