If she needs to get from the cruise port to MCO, I would suggest Cruise Control Transportation ($25 + tip) or Cotrans ($30 + tip), if I remember the prices accurately.

Cruise Control Transportation saved my hide big time last month.

Cortrans was great we left a bag on the bus and he came back after dropping others off.   He found us in the skycap line outside and came back yelling to us.

I just realized I never addressed this in my review (other than the final summary) and meant to, my bad!  It was one of the service changes I wanted to highlight.

We met our steward the first afternoon and she gave us the option of morning (9-1) or evening service.  We initially chose morning since we had the kids in our room on the pull-out and thought it would be good to have her make it up in the morning.

We then thought better of it, knowing we would always be out of the room for several hours at the same time for dinner in the MDR.  We found our steward that first night and asked to change to evening service and she refused, saying her evenings were full.

This ended up being an issue for us on sea days (not port days) as it wasn't as easy for the 4 of us to be out of the room for an extended time in the morning (we had to be in and out a bit).  And as a result, we just got towels and didn't have her service the room a couple of those days.  We were out of the room for a couple hours those days, but she did not make the room up during those times, which was also frustrating.  I just think they have too much to cover now and have little flexibility, though I would have expected a little more of an attempt.

So for our family, since we always went to dinner in the MDR, evening service would have worked better.  Again, was not an issue on port days since we were gone, but we had to focus on it for the 3 sea days to get out of the room between 9 and 1 and I would rather not have to worry about it next time.

What category cabin did you have?

  3. We have early dining and usually get the dessert even though we are stuffed.  Then on some evenings I wish there was some place to get a snack other than pizza.  If I ask for the dessert to go how will it be packaged?  Also if I have dessert with dinner can I also ask for one to go?  If so can I bring a small plastic container so I can stick it in the cooler if necessary?

We have had all 3 regular flavors of ice cream in the WJ with 6 toppings choices at lunch and dinner in the WJ last 2 weeks I've been on harmony. On allure they rotated 2 flavors.

You mentioned on a previous post that you were going on a Royal excursion in Cozumel that went the Mayan Bee Sanctuary, did you happen to make it there? I'm considering that tour and wondering if you can recommend it for 2 seniors.

We made it back without too much issue.  The one thing (totally our fault) is we got into a waiting Uber instead of calling our own (got charged Uber Black rates).

We picked up a rental car in Houston to use for a few hours and went over to Nasa's Spaceport.  We have a ASTC membership with our local science museum so we got into Nasa for free.  We were there 9 year ago, before they had the Space Shuttle Independence and that was a cool area to walk through.  After getting through that section, it did start to get a bit crowded but it was still a good way to kill a couple hours.

From there we went to Rudy's for some BBQ that our expensive Uber driver recommended.  It was very tasty and the portions are decent for the sandwiches.  Then to kill a little bit more time, we checked out a Marshalls and Nordstrom Rack (we find decent deals at the ones near home so thought we would look).

It was then back to the rental place to drop off the car, a shuttle ride to the airport, and then waiting for a while for our flight.  We fly Southwest and had pretty much middle boarding position (B33,34).  It was going to be a full flight and by the time we got into the plane, the only two seats together were at the back.  We picked the very last row on the port side and waited until boarding finished...  only to find out that nobody took the last seat on our side of the isle.  WIN!  We spread out with the only empty seat between us and were not crammed in for the 2.5 hour flight home.

That is where our trip ends.  Feel free to ask questions - I think I have to find a thread about hard scoop ice cream now as there was a question there.

Your live review was fabulous, so helpful, thank you so much!

The bees are combined with chocolate and tequila tasting I'm good with. I'm a kid at heart. Doesnt actually say where we go to see these bees. Its booked nov 26, so very soon. I bet your grands would like it except for the tequila. Idk. Something new.

Take a part in a Tequila tasting and learn about the making of this traditional Mexican beverage. Head towards the Mayan Bee Sanctuary and discover the importance the sacred stingless Melipona Bees had in the Mayan culture. Open your eyes to a new landscape surrounded by lush vegetation and a small cenote as the bees interact in their natural space. Not only are Melipona bees essential for the pollination of crops and environmental balance but also key to Mayan traditions and beliefs. Learn about the benefits and properties of the bee’s marvelous golden liquid in its different presentations as you enjoy a small tasting.

    Duration
    4hr

I've been looking for something different in Cozumel the stingless bee's sound very interesting. I'm highly allergic to bee stings so while searching excursions I probably stopped reading once I saw the word bees.  Please post when you get back I would be interested in hearing all about it, including what kind of transportation is used.

It sprinkled just a bit when we got off the ship but that ended by the time we arrived at the Monkey and Sloth sanctuary.

We toured with Victor Bodden and had a great tour.  We were the first ones at the sanctuary, hugged a sloth, went to the chocolate factory, saw West End, up to the rum distillery, over to West Bay, saw the beach, back to the Roatan sign, last stop at the Cameo factory, and then back to the ship for lunch

Important note - bring cash.  You can use credit cards at most places but there is an 18% charge to do so.

    Morning!

Couple random thoughts that I will throw together:

Aqua Show - there is a bit of a preshow that starts 10 minutes before showtime. Don't be like a bunch of the other inconsiderate people and be looking for seats at the last minute.  😁

Stateroom lighting - they are using LEDs in everything as the lights turn on instantly instead of flickering.  There is the main cabin lights, a light on either side of the bed, and the bathroom (with nightlight).

Cons - I wish the light over the couch was controlled separately as if someone is trying to nap and another wants to read, there is no good way to make that work.

Pros - the switch for the bathroom lighting has a small blue light on it - just enough that you can find your way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Windjammer - it seems smaller than I remember.  We think that might be due to having so many dining venues on the ship that it doesn't need to be as large.  It just seems like there aren't as many options at the buffet as we have had on Voyager / Freedom class ships.

We did check out the Crown Lounge this morning. Forgot to check signage (will do that later) but it's fairly standard offerings.  I did find it funny as you can still see the outline on the wall where the stage used to be.

Top tier event in an hour.

All Oasis class ships the Windjammer is smaller than on Freedom & Voyager ships that's one of the reasons I avoid it.

    Aqua Theater seating -

4th row center is reserved for Star Class suites.

Rows 5 through 9 center are being held for those who purchased the Key.

They did start seating those with reservations 45 minutes before showtime.

Also, first three rows are in the splash zone and pool towels have been preset for those attending.

Are the key seats in rows 5-9 the individual seats with arms or bench seats?

Yeah I have a 10 day on Celebrity Beyond in April. It does worry me.

Stay away from tap water, ice tea or lemonade on a cruise. Google or Youtube " how to dry  brush" I put on Eliemis oil and start brushing up from my toes, front and back of legs,  all the way up my body to my heart and then down from neck to heart, it helps with circulation.  I would do it after showering and before bed it has helped me with swelling.
