  1. I find some of the abbreviations confusing at time. Who are BVE passengers?

Even though I know all the abbreviations I agree with you. It doesn't take that time to type it out.

BVE - Bon Voyage Experience , people that pay for lunch and a tour of the ship before it embarks on the cruise. If your not a passenger you get off around 3pm

  2. To add a little flare to the cabin crawl would be make it a poker cabin crawl.

Keep the drinking in tacked but now the participants each put a set amount of money in a pot. You each get a card at each stop. The person with the highes poker hand at the end wins the pot.

  3. ROFL! Perhaps! I've been following Pia since the very early days of the Royal. But that's not really that long ago, so you may have dibs! :) But nonetheless, I'd love to meet this cruising legend face to face!

She is one of many legends here on CC but she does a great (best)Live

Sounds like a meet up at Vines would be in order!

#1 can't argue with all your wine choices and reasoning. Be aware Mike and Pia love the white wine also and not into any of the pricey stuff just needs to taste good.

Yes a vines meet would be in order or a suite balconey

Thanks again for understanding the humor

Sorry Pia you can have your Live Back

  4. Pia! Just a thought! I see you are on the Emerald on 10-14-14. I'm on the new Regal on 11-6-14 (and 11-9-14). I would love so much to meet such an icon as yourself in person, and maybe, just maybe, IF you decided to do the Regal Maiden Caribbean Sampler, we could do that this year! :D Both of those cruises have Roll Calls under the Regal Princess and we even have some folks scheduled for Sail Away and M&G! Give it a thought!

Back off Buckaroo I saw her first, LOL

I dont believe Pia can make that date in November as she is a 25 day cruise during that time. The only way you can meet up with her is one of her current sail dates. Unless the 11/9 works

Quick question what are some of you favorite wines, I love Caymus and lots of Sonoma County wines

Have a great cruise on the Regal

  5. Pia

Thanks again for your live, I almost forgot until I noticed your thread. WoW what a treat Sabatini's for breakfast and # 75 on the cruise counter fantastic. You and Mike will be at 100 soon if you stop with the long and world cruises.

Have a sip of wine for me, I just got off the CB and had to leave a few bottles onboard as we disembarked early. Gave them to our room steward, he declined as he doesn't drink next time cruise next to us

    CHEERS and enjoy the cruise

  6. Hi all, Looking for others that will be sailing on the Star Princess on June 25 to Alaska from SF. Looking for others that might want to share excursions with private companies rather than booked through the cruise. My travel agent has giving me some proven tour companies at different ports. There are three of us traveling. My husband, myself and our 12 yr old daughter.

  7. I got of the Caribbean Princess yesterday and yes the tip pool is decreased. I made a point of tipping extra to my room steward to more than cover any of his losses. I did fail to tip the wait staff and for that I'm very sorry.

As a note it sure didn't look like that many got off the ship . We disembarked at 11am and none of the taxi , security or police even knew what the problem was.

Even only after two days being onboard it truly was not a fun experiance to sit in a cold windy port without any garentee of leaving port. Although Princess Staff and crew were doing their best to take care of all the needs of the passengers. I feel sorry as this is not Princess fault.

It's just not the same being on a cruise ship if it is not moving.

  8. Princess mistake was sending the letter. Lots of us made a decision based on that promise. If we would have known things would change and they would go back on their word, our decision to stay would have been different. I appreciate Princess trying to do the right thing for everyone involved, but they gave us their word and are now going back on it. We now have 10 minutes (was told we have to make a decision by 3pm) to try to decide what to do and make alternative plans. DH is on the phone now with Princess. This is a very upsetting situation.

What ports did they say you get?

  9. They were, but not anymore as it is anticipated they might sail late this afternoon.

As one person posted on the roll call for this cruise:

"I hear cruises are much better when the ship actually gets underway."

Princess is letting passengers off up to 2pm. All passengers received info as to what time you wanted to get off

I walked off at 11:00 with no garentee of the ship ever leaving port , its cool and windy in Houston

Princess had 5 busses Lined up to take people back to the airports and about 40 cabs were lined up.

Princess was very good at taking care of all the passengers needs on the ship and in the port when getting off. I was very impressed

  10. There have been some posts about people bringing on a Box wine and being allowed with paying corkage for amount over 750ml. I have no personal knowledge, but on a longer cruise it might be worth it to us to bring a 3 liter Black Box wine for our cabin and paying $30 for the privilege.

I agree with you on the box (or bags) and paying more. I have always followed the rules and supporter of what you say. I and enjoy the fact that Princess allows passengers to bring wine on-board.

  11. Per the Passage Contract, you are required to pay a corkage of $15/liter for any amount above 750ml per passenger of drinking age. It has nothing to do with a cork or screw cap. In addition, if you take that bottle to the DR you will need to pay corkage on that bottle. Corkage is a bad term. It should be called a wine service fee. If you bring wine in a bag in box, which has a foil seal rather than a cork or a screw cap, you are required to pay $15 for every 750ml after the first 750ml.

I agree with you totaly and have never had problem with the passage contract or paying the corkage fee and have paid it many times. Your response should be to the MDR staff. I have asked to pay and was told , no charge because the bottle didn't have a cork. You are also not allowed to bring a container of wine no larger than 750ml so that leaves out bags and boxes but clearly they have made it onto the ship.

  12. Do a "real" land safari. Three to four days is barely scratching the surface since you won't see more than a few of the animals in such a short time. A cruise tour would be good but a land tour is "incredible" and beyond my ability to describe other than the greatest travel experience of my life... by a wide margin.

Keep talking its is my must do also.
