  1. If you wait until late November when Explorer is back in the States sailing the 10 & 11 day itineraries, you can check the MDR menus in the app. Right now she is doing 7 day cruises in Europe so the menus don’t line up yet.
  2. JS can only access CK for dinner if there is space available. Balconies cannot access at all. In your scenario, your kids would not be allowed to join you in CK.
  3. Mamma Mia - (bad) elevator music Grease - just plain bad Cats - too eclectic for a cruise ship Hairspray - only good one of the bunch Bring back Chicago!!! Jersey Boys!! Aida, the Wiz, Pippin, anything besides the crap they’re staging now!!!
  4. I keep an eye on my cruise planner. My Time Dining reservations can be found under the Dining tab. I have found no rhyme or reason for when MTD ressies open for booking so I check a couple of times a week. My March 2025 Explorer sailing opened MTD bookings about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately it is up to you to watch for these things.
  5. The owners Suite is sweet! Spoiled the crap out of us as we usually sail in JS. Early boarding, dedicated suite deck with a bar, access to CK for BL&D (we thought it was so so but are in the minority) suite concierge who can assist with dining & show reservations prior to boarding, twice daily cabin service. But our favorite perk was having a last sit down breakfast in CK and then bring escorted past the huge lines getting off the ship. No lie, 15 minutes from the last sip of coffee to our car in the parking garage. Sweet indeed!
  6. No it doesn’t but, again IMO, it blocks too much breeze. It’s just too hot in there. And I want to feel the ocean breeze. I can sit in the AC anywhere.
  7. Just want to tell you I LOVE your signature quote!!! Regards from the Group W bench!!
  8. Booked a March 2025 cruise in May. MTD reservations just showed up about 2 weeks ago. Maybe yours just aren’t available yet? It should show as the last option under DINING in the cruise planner.
  9. Harmony several years ago, we ate in CK 3 times and unfortunately didn’t really enjoy any of it. Hubby’s filet was a piece of gristle that had to be sent back & the second offering was severely over cooked. Pork belly was fatty & slimy. Our waiter was kinda snooty. Just did not enjoy the experience at all and we were really looking forward to CK. Harmony again last year & we didn’t go there at all.
  10. But, and maybe it’s just me, the roof just turns Harmony’s solarium into a sauna especially with no pool in which to cool off. I actually really like the solarium on Explorer. Plenty of breeze, a nice pool & a great bar!
  11. There’s AC in there??? Could have fooled me.
  12. Found the solarium on Harmony hot and stuffy with barely a hint of ocean breeze. The cabanas up on the suites deck were even worse. We were surprised to find an empty one but quickly realized why. We left after about 30 minutes (ok hubby hubby was taking a nap there already so we left him!)
  13. Not sure what your issue was with the pictures of the food you posted. Yes, the prime rib does look dead. I would have sent it back for a better cut. This is not necessarily uncommon with cooked beef and I have always received a more acceptable piece. As to the missing lobster, I too live in N.E. There is no way cruise ship lobster will come close to what we have available here. Why would you even order it?? The rest of the meals look perfectly fine.
  14. Just booked my March Explorer MTD. 6:45 was the earliest. I believe that is timed to coincide with the end of early traditional dining for Deck 3 dining room.
  15. I have found the strawberries go bad VERY fast and are often not good even when first delivered.
  16. Have used both Cortrans and Cruise Control with good experiences from each.
  17. I got that this morning too, left it all in my cart and gave up. Went back 15 minutes later & cart was empty & the MTD ressies were in my order history and show reserved for each day 🤷‍♀️
  18. I don’t think you are asking about self-departure. You don’t appear to want to get off early or have to wrangle suitcases while assisting your companion. My guess is you are referring to having your vehicle close at hand. Understand that, essentially everyone “walks” off the ship. RC doesn’t care what you do after you exit the ship. Car, shuttle, taxi, Uber/Lyft, covered wagon, spaceship. The only way to avoid luggage in the hold area is to carry them yourself. Ask Guest Services to assign your preferred disembark time, leave your bags out the night before, get off the ship, collect your bags in the holding area & go to your car. Have a great trip!
  19. So perhaps, and I am just supposing here, ships that have that distinction don’t allow regular JSs to board as a suite? Others without such a distinction do?
