If booked in advance, the PP cost is included in the cruise fare. Some TAs give OBC as a percentage of cruise fare, so you we get additional OBC if initially booked. It can be significant on a 14 day cruise. Then, you can use the additional OBC onboard for whatever you wish. You can even use it to upgrade to Premier if you wish.
There are more and more people popping up on You Tube as cruise "experts". Most have taken less cruises than many on CC (including me), and they create controversy or stress as click bait.
That said, I did a quick look CC overall cruise review scores by cruise line and found that most of the largest players score between 3.6 and 4.0, including some luxury lines. Princess is in that group.
Prices are very high downtown. You can save a hundred or more by booking a hotel out of the downtown area. Some have breakfast included and offer a complementary shuttle to Canada Place.
The folio clearly separated refundable and nonrefundable OBC. A folio was not given to us on disembarkation day and one was not emailed to us. I can not access it on the app or website.
An online chat with Princess said that all OBC is nonrefundable. That is not true. They also said that it would take 7 to 10 days to receive a copy of the folio via email.
I hope that they resolve this properly. I enjoyed the cruise and have another one booked. I hope that I don't have to stop sailing them over this issue
We sailed for 14 days ending last week. Since it was built in 1999, some of the decor looks a bit dated, but everything was in good condition. We had no problems and it was a good cruise. As with all ships, you will see crew working daily to keep the ship clean and in good condition.
Keep trying. The first two days after the reservations opened were a mess, with lots of error messages. I then made each evening reservation separately for a 14 day itinerary and was unable to get a private two top on two evenings. I went back two days later and was able to successfully change those two evenings to a private two top. We got what we wanted, a private two top at the set time each night, but it was a lot more effort than it was in the past.
This does not appear to be an option on the app and you can't make reservations on the web site.
Can you use OBC shown on the website to dining reservations and how do you go about this?
We want to decide between taking the train or road excursion to the White Pass Summit. The "train" experience is not important to us, we are more interested in scenery and wildlife viewing.
What are the pros and cons of each?
