Does Carnival have an in-house Company Historian who would know?Wonder if Host Mach has an "in" with someone at Carnival, who can shed some light on this mystery?
Thanks for inputs large and small, re. this odd card.
For some years now, I've known the lady whose card it was
so I'm not guessing about her travel industry status
-she's been an accountant for British Airways for about 20-30 yrs.
and she and her husband do flights and cruises like you and I do hot dinners
because she gets all kindsa deals --like 10% of what you and I get to pay(we're so lucky!) :D
So she's not a Carnival employee, but she does get her special rates.
......................................
Below are examples of regular paying-passenger cruise cards
from years both before and after the date on June's card
to illustrate the unusual nature of this employee? or near-employee? card.

If you do any sort of island tour
you'll almost certainly wind up at this famous lookout point
in the hills above Charlotte Amalie, overlooking the harbour and the ships.
If you're on Carnival..this is your ship..
If you're on Princess, this is your ship
This is the lookout point.

Once we were docked, it looked like this!

These pictorial threads seem to have been reasonably popular at other CC Caribbean Ports of Call
so I thought "Why not one for St.Thomas and St.John, too?"
I'm depending on y'all to chime in with your stuff too, okay?
Don't leave it all up to me, bcoz I don't have that many shots of St.Thomas
and none at all of St.John!
So please do your bit
and show us your shots of the scenic U.S. Virgin Islands generally!
...............................................
I thought maybe I should start near the beginning, as we entered the Charlotte Amalie channel
on the way in to the dock.
That's Emerald Princess ahead of us -and the date was 3rd. November 2008
Were you there?

Now that's a neat idea! -and so light too.For Christmas, I have a 'travel' Christmas tree that I put an ornaments that we have picked up on our cruises- and I also hang our cruise keys on it.
So many Xmas ornaments are too heavy, these days.
The makers don't consider that a Xmas tree ornaments first consideration is that it should be light.

It was that much of a blur, huh? :DWe really don't remember on all whether we dock or tender in St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados,St. Lucia, Antigua, and St. Kitts.

I'm still trying to figure out this odd Carnival card from 1998!There is a lot of lost history about Carnival. The lady to whom it was issued works for a major airline for some decades now
so she gets all sorts of perks travel-industry-wide.
Is this card a special issue for industry workers? Travel agents?
What? -does anyone know?
It's not the standard cruise card for the era, because I've seen some of them
and they are nothing like this 'Plain Jane'-lookin card!

That's what I thought too!Just curious....the ship leaves at 10 pm...how did you miss the ship?With a 10 p.m. departure time
I woulda thought that Victory would be just about impossible to miss!
Enquiring Minds need to know just how you missed this one! :D

I think Victory was my favourite ship, and by far the most amazing itinerary.
We did the following:
San Juan - missed the ship, so ended up flying on a 9 seater to St. Thomas  -
The ship is beautiful, in my opinion, and had a laid-back, easygoing feel .

I have ordinary UV filters on my lensesaplmac,do you use any filters for your daylight shots at sea?
(except for the fisheye which can't accept a front-mounted filter)
-these UV's more for protection against salt spray, fingerprints etc.
but they do also have some small effect reducing haze and other minor atmospheric effects

I keep hoping that some kind person out there
will use a magnet to void the info on the magnetic strip
and send me their 'dead'/cancelled Carnival credit-card for my collection of cruise-cards
-the one with the nice photo of the ship!? :)
I don't otherwise stand a chance in Hell of ever acquiring it
(see where I live?)
I'll also accept any and every cruise card from any and every cruise-line
(so many I don't have yet) -I'm NOT into identity theft..
..I have a rather strong one of my own, thanks,
-and besides.. I'm already richer than you! ;) :D
So please...anyone who might contribute
please stick your old/dead/un-used cards in an envelope
(NO Scotch tape please --it peels the layers apart!)
and send your envelope to:
David Hunt (my real name)
3, Erdiston Drive
Pine Gardens, St.Michael,
BARBADOS, W.Indies (now you know where I live too!)
Thank you for your consideration.

We were standing in the hallway saying good night to each other, prior to retiring to our individual cabins
when my friend pops open a panel right there...
to find this --'blackwater' plumbing attached to our bathrooms!
Isn't that just beautiful? :D
What's the little motor thing for? Individual suction, per unit?
I guess the piping lagged in reflective silver is Hot Water coming in ?

No time difference between Ship Time and Island Time -not for Victory... is there on one of the islands : St Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, St Kitts- a time difference between the ship and these islands that I should consider in planning our trips ?
Victory's home base is SJ,PR
which is on the same time as all the Lesser Antilles islands it runs up and down.

In my limited experience, Carnival usually gets the berth at Point SeraphineCan anyone tell me which dock Carnival Victory uses in St Lucia. From what I have been reading there are 2 dockx
There are a couple of ships in port on our date (November )
and I don't know if our ship dock in Pointe Seraphine or dock at La Place Carenage.
Because they are year-round visitors(not just winters-only)
Carnival usually gets the berth of preference.
You should be here...
Point Seraphine duty-free shopping complex for cruisers.
