  1. Slight Clarification. RCI didn't put their employees on a ship to make sure they are out of harms way. They put them all on a ship to make sure they are there and available for work the minute the port re-opens and allows ships back in. Otherwise they would have employees evacuated out of state that may not be able to get back for many days after the port is opened again. It's not done in the interest of their employee's well being. It is done in the financial interest of the company, as is every single decision they make these days.
Heard each employee could bring up to 7 additional family members. Doesn't sound like corporate greed in my book.
  2. Has anyone had any luck getting their FCC released? I was scheduled for the 9/9 Harmony. I'm not taking the chance on the Tuesday shortened cruise, but want to rebook on 9/30, but they haven't released the future cruise credit yet and will make me pay out of pocket if I try to rebook before they release the credits. I have a hold on 2 cabins jntil Friday morning hoping that they are released by then, but I am sure the home offices will have to close to evacuate. I just want to ensure I have these cabins secured. Frontier let me move my flights free of charge but they had to take place within 30 days of the original flights. I was hoping RCCL would at least extend the hold on the cabins until the FCC are released, but they aren't .

I would ask for a supervisor.

  3. I don't believe there would be a fee for changing to a refundable fare either, though not sure why anyone would do that.

I am not sure one would be able to move from nrf to refundable. Anyone who would want to cancel would just do that and would hence cancel the purpose of the cruise line benefitting from nrf.

  4. But it's a number that changes based on the fares... the fare is slightly higher today than it was when I rebooked, and as such, if I rebooked today (same category cabin), the tax would be about $10 higher ...

Taxes can change based on differing port charges to the cruise lines. Sometimes taxes go down because a port charges the same rate per vessel. The higher occupancy the more to spread the port charge or "tax".

  5. I hadn't heard about the new deposit system so I was disappointed when my TA tried to move a cruise we had planned from Feb. 2018 to March 2019. She was told when she called that only the non refundable option was available for the cruise I was looking at.
Were you booked in a suite, if not everyone should have a choice between refundable and not...
