  1. We did a four night cruise in February from Singapore. Sounds similar to ours. Over 5000 on board and 1000 children (Malaysian school holidays). Mostly, as expected, Singaporeans and Malaysian citizens. Wonderful cruise to Penang and Phuket, wish we could have had longer on board. The indoor family pool was packed with young children and the main pool also very busy. Bars very quiet, just a handful there at any time. Found entertainment to be good. Loved Silk Road in Two70 We had issues with the Singapore Arrival card. I scanned our passports in the app but it read the 0's as O's . On arrival the e-gates wouldn't work because of this and we had to queue and go through the manned channel. On arrival back into Singapore after the cruise I went in and edited the scan to correct digit and all well. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and looking forward to hearing more
  2. you get a few bottles of water , seems to vary how many, once you hit Diamond level in the crown and anchor programme.
  3. Cheaper I guess. If its a long cruise with long days ashore I buy the Evian in the planner. 12 litres waiting in our cabin, along with the Diamond water. Great for excursions and at night . But the ships water is fine too
  4. We had a guarantee balcony on Spectrum. We knew on this class we would probably get a obstructive view on deck 6, which we did. But it was also a connecting cabin. We did an Royal Up to a unobstructed balcony for £35 each and got a nice balcony on 8th floor, not connected.
  5. Thanks for the recommendation to watch The Gentlemen on Netflix. Saw the first two episodes yesterday and enjoyed it very much
  6. We enjoyed it in Beyond. Would I prefer a proper balcony, probably yes, but it didn't spoil our cruise. We up'ed to concierge class which gives you a few extra perks and supposedly a better placed cabin. The infinity balcony gives you the feeling of more space as the balcony area is incorporated into the room The itinerary of Bella 3.75 sounds fab
  7. It was nice to come back to the curtains pulled, glow light left on, bed straightened, clean dry towels ready for the morning shower. Necessary no, nice yes. It was a luxury perk of cruising for everyone, now just for suites. Now with an increase in gratuities for less service received. As far as hotels having a daily service. We rarely stay more than a night, prefer air bnb. But last month our mid price hotel in Singapore had a daily clean.
  8. Thanks for the pictures. I was just wondering this morning where the ship had got to
  9. Happy Wedding Day to the Happy Couple 💞 But so sorry to hear about your sister in law. What a shock and so young 😥
  10. Living in the UK I've been to Paris a few times so will give it a miss this time. Hubby is doing a charity bike ride to the WW2 beaches just a month earlier, so thinking maybe catch the train to Rouen one day and the bus or taxi to Honfleur and/or Deauville. Or rent a car
  11. I've used a voucher a couple of times in specialty restaurants. One vouchers for 40% off a bottle (under $100). It's been available for around a year so they should be aware of it by now.
  12. We were amazed how nice various shades of light grey looks on the walks, very restful. We started with the study and ending up doing the whole downstairs in different shades
  13. When you open the app there will be three icons at top, a ship, a calendar and a person head/shoulders. Click on person, this takes you to your profile and bookings. At the bottom of your cruise it should read 'don't see your cruise, add it now' click there. This takes you to another page where you could add details of other cruises booked OR click on 'Browse our ships'. Click on 'Browse our Ships' This takes you to list of ships. Click on one you are interested in and it gives you a list of sailings. Click on this week and it will be populated with all the activities, dinning, bar menus, entertainment and excursions with prices
  14. Happy Birthday Dani !! Hope you gave a fabulous day and get to do all your favourite things . VID-20240214-WA0011.mp4
  15. Porridge pots from M@S too. Just add boiling water. £1 each. No need for bowl and use the spoon that comes with the in room tea/kettle tray. A lot cheaper and healthier than the overpriced buffet breakfast in the hotel
  16. Prices vary widely, but more to do with I think how many drink packages they've already sold or how many they think they will sell. If they think there's high demand then the price is high. For instance in a sector of the world cruise on Serenade the DP is showing as £52.50 pppd in my planner (including tax as UK prices) for 16 day cruise. But apparently Anthem ex Southampton is £76 pppd, 14 day cruise. My thinking is on the UWC most full world cruisers have drinks included, there will probably be a lot of Diamond and up who get free drinks too so demand for the DP will be low, hence a lower price. On the Southampton cruise, a 14 day cruise will be most people's main summer holiday, and us Brits like a drink on holiday, so I think the demand for the DP will be high. As far as speciality dinning then my experience, comparing Symphony to Serenade last year, is the bigger the ship and more choice, the more expensive the dinner. Symphony was £60pp for Chops and Serenade £46
  17. We've had an extremely wet winter with rain most days. But molly still needs daily walks. Yesterday we had a rare few hours of sunshine at a National Trust property about an hours drive from us. Petworth House and grounds. It has a large deer park with a big herd of deer as well as gardens and an amazing collection of paintings including many Van Dyck and Turners. Only disappointment was lunch was not up to the usual NT standard. Looking out over the Deer park. Zoom in to see the herd close up of the deer 🦌 the house. Only about a third was open to the public , the family still live in a wing of the house. the Chapel, parts of it are from the 13th century Petworth, https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/sussex/petworth
  18. Wish they would bring back those drink cards, 10 drinks for $80 or whatever. They were handy when we were pre diamond, and shareable too.
  19. Diamond Lounge also pretty empty on Spectrum , and this was in a cruise with over 5000 on board. Maybe half a dozen at most. They did have sandwiches and pastries there all day as well as breakfast and pre dinner snacks but still not enough to entice people to stay
