  1. If you can find the NCL image on the lanyard you could have them made. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1059407437/custom-full-color-lanyards-party
  2. Here are some posts about the cabin. https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=684282 cruising-ducks-gift-tag-tg174_64e0056db87163_99059962.pdf cruising-ducks-gift-tag-tg174_64e0056db87163_99059962.pdf
  3. The 1-1-1-1 is probably the intent of the FAS promo, but it is not defined as such in the terms & conditions. To be clear I am not looking to abuse the current vageness of the terms & conditions, just hoping for say a double shrimp cocktail (6 shrimp, which could be defined as two apps) as well as a salad, entrée, and dessert at Cagney's.
  4. Can anyone please verify my understanding based upon the terms & conditions as well as past experience (assuming no change since we went in 2022). This would be for restaurants like Cagney's and Le Bistro, not Food Republic. Also I understand some items have a surcharge. Free at Sea (Terms & Conditions - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions) 1 main course No limit on app/soup/desserts Specialty Dining Package (Terms & Conditions - https://www.ncl.com/specialty-dining-package/faq) 1 appetizer 1 soup or salad 1 main course 1 dessert Latitude Voucher 1 appetizer or soup or salad 1 main course 1 dessert
  5. We did a cruise in November and I upgraded the first morning (after the first night). We had wifi up until late the first night leaving NYC but found when I upgrading on day 2 it was cheaper, as it was one less day. I am hoping someone can say if that is still the case. I don't know if it works past a certain day though.
  6. Lots of thread about this. My family (including my teens and my parents) just use (apple) iMessage since we all have iphone. See other threads within this one as well.
  7. I have not been on the Joy yet but maybe Food Republic which I believe is open for lunch on sea days. One dining credit is good for 4 items off the menu.
  8. NCL says the date listed in the app that you cannot book before is generic 120 for everyone but at 125 I should be able to make reservations. Anyone Platinum or above with a current sail more than 120 days away that can confirm?
  9. When I look at the restaurants through the NCL app it says "please check back on 4/22/23 to book" which is 120 days before our 8/20/23 cruise (balcony room). The thing is I am Latitude Saphire, so I was expecting it to be 125 days out. Does this seem wrong? Do I need to contact NCL to have it changed, as I want to do it through the app and not have to call.
  10. I tried the patch once and had horrible side effects with constant dry mouth. I buy a bottle of "Rugby Travel Sickness, 100 Tablets" for less than $8 which is more than enough for my family even when we start a few days before. Never had an issue with them, but also have had a green apple on hand just in case.
  11. If you are platinum or above, can you tell where which restaurants the dining vouchers are good for.
  12. I know from our many NCL cruises that the Entorage (teen club) is usually closed when we are at port, which I understand. Does anyone know if they are closed for the whole duration when we are in a port overnight like Bermuda? We arive at 12pm on one day and then don't leave until 5pm the next day.
  13. As part of my recent booking I got a $25 per person Specialty Dining Credit, which is in addition to the free at sea dining package. Does anyone have any experience with this promo, as I am guessing it would allow me to order a side lobster tail, but not sure. Also not sure if I end up paying the service charge on the value of the credit I use.
  14. With 50 years’ experience that is great for him. We had 6 months experience with T1D for our child at that time and had something that worked for us in the middle of the night if we needed it. It was worth getting the exception to bring it on as well as bring home what we didn't use. Purpose of my post was to share an experience I had to the original poster to say if it makes you more comfortable, that yes it is possible.
  15. We got permissions to bring liquids on (juice & protein shakes) for my daughter with diabetes by calling the Special Needs desk.
  16. I love this topic as we are also cruise veterans, but my 13-year-old daughter was diagnosed with T1D about five months ago. We leave for a 14-day cruise next Sunday and are both excited and nervous. My daughter is on a CGM (Dexcom G6) and an insulin pump (Omnipod 5). Without WiFi for her AND one parent we will not be able to track her glucose levels. Before her pump this was a big concern for me but with her pump adjusting her basil insulin when she goes low, I am feeling much better. If your son is not on a CGM and an insulin pump (especially the newer ones that communicate directly with the CGM) you might want to investigate them as my comfort level has gone up tremendously because of it. As far as food, get a free month subscription to a food tracking app. We are using Lose It and with the subscription she can track her macros. It won't have all foods offline (without Wi-Fi if you don’t buy it) but seems to have a lot. We also bought the Calorie King book as a backup for carb macros. It won't be perfect but better than random swags. As far as the Access Deck they were good for a Sharps container and allowance to bring on juice but did not find much other value in them. Their solution was to look for the no-sugar added items, which may work for T2D but as you know T1D is very different.
  17. Breakaway Haven question that I felt silly creating a separate thread about... I know the Haven Courtyard on the Breakaway has a retractable roof. Do they normally have the roof open during the day (maybe only when at port) and closed for the evening or when there is bad weather?
  18. Can someone clarify for me when the rule is 16 and up for the Haven "sun deck" is that the upper deck inside (on the Breakaway) or the outside, or maybe both?
  19. I sent an email Monday and received an email stating ... "We have received your email inquiry, please allow up to 48 business hours for a response. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 9AM - 6PM EST." In my opinion "48 business hours" is awkwardly written and we are in EDT not EST. Does that mean 6 business days if they work 8 hour days? I guess I will call on Monday (we leave the following Sunday) as I don't have high hopes the email will get it done.
  20. Does anyone know if the 2-bedroom suites (Breakaway if it matters) have power next to the bed in the main bedroom? One or both sides?
  21. I just wanted to say thank you for your response as well as your hundred's of other posts that I have read. Your posts are always insightful, helpful, and respectful even when others turned up the heat. You will certainly make my first Haven experience more educated and enjoyable. Thank you!
  22. I received my "pre-cruise Concierge" via email for our 11/6 cruise. I want to make dinner reservations but the entertainment timings is important as I want to get to some of the shows like Six. Should I just wait until we are on the ship and I have the schedule (hopefully they publish the whole 14 days at once)?
  23. Planning for first time in the Haven. We have the drink package but most of the time just drink soda. Can I ask the butler to keep cans of soda in the fridge? Not worth it if I have to pay for each can, just convenient for us if it is possible.
