but from now on….?
People reading this & hearing other reports & deciding to give it a go?
Who knows?
At the end of the day ,the vaccination only stops you from becoming really unwell if you were to catch Covid. You'll still catch it if in a situation where you're at risk . It's the regular testing which is the big thing here .

Luggage service has now woken up so maybe we were too early.
As for online check in, it is a total waste of time as we had to do it all again!
@Pink-belleI explained my position re my daughter in law, they were happy as she tested negative with a PCR test.
We're parking with CPS, and have to go to Mayflower terminal first . I've always said about online check in. No matter if it's air or sea, you give all that info and they still go through the same old routine once you're there .

@Pink-belleFret no more, I have just this minute heard, she had a text and she is negative. Relieved does not describe how I feel right now. You are right we hardly slept trying to decide what we would do if she didn't get the result so fast. They are doing a tremendous job with testing where she lives.
May be see you on board.
Pleased for you . I think we all will be a concerned about test results ,even though we'll all be ,like you were, cautious about what we do and where we go ,prior to our sailing day. Now, go have a fantastic time xx

The Daughter in law had a PCR test this afternoon and has been told she should have the result tomorrow. Fingers crossed it is before we leave.
Where she lives they seem very quick with the results as she had a PCR test a few weeks back at about 10am and she had a text by about 4pm saying it was negative.
The annoying this is we have been avoiding contact for nearly 2 weeks but she phoned late and asked to come up and my wife just could not say no.
Oh it's sods law isnt it. I'm sure you'll be ok

Good news, I think, my step daughters 2nd LFT showed negative. She is going to a third then I will go by the average.
I think that is a safe option.
I'd say that'll work out ok for you. What a scary few hours though that you'd of rather have not had .

I have just received a phone call from P&O regarding my cabin!
I have had to be upgraded to a better (their words) suite.
I was worried when the caller said "I'm ring about your cruise." I have more washing to do now.🤣
Wow that's great . Pleased for you

I completed the form yesterday morning and it does not allow editing of the form.
I'm in a quandary as I answered the medical declaration honestly at the time I completed it and my step daughter has been test positive by LFT and not PCR test. Also another factor is she works in retail and all the other staff are negative. She is booking a PCR test and also going to do another LFT later.
I obvious don't want to speed Covid to the ship so I will wait for her second LFT result then go from there. If there is any chance one of us is infected then I won't be getting as far as the ship as it would be selfish / foolish to stay overnight in Southampton first.
I hope to hear by lunch time today.
Feel for you .Iet us know how you get on .

I know what you mean about amount of luggage, when going off to other places after.
We are over night , night before, and then three days in a hotel, after cruise. Think I need things from the cruise , on the land holiday too. First world problems hey.
Yes, ironing. All very well sending them off to be pressed, but what if you go to out something on, and it has a crease, you hadn't noticed. Can't run down to laundry room to run the iron over quickly if closed. Will need to check well in advance.

Have all cruise lines overbooked? I also have a Princess booking on 28 August and understood all bookings were with reduced capacity. No one said the cruises would be at normal levels if restrictions on land were lifted. Naively I thought some restrictions would still apply to ships.
At the moment,it's affecting cruises up to 19th July ,while we're in these current restrictions.

Thank you Eddie, my anger is fading now and I feel sorry for all the others that are in the same boat as me , we had our October 3 days in London all booked and planned, my husband has just booked again at the hotel in Mayfair and we will do some different things than planned in October, I’m just a bit anxious about going to London at this time .
London is quiet . Your trip sounds wonderful.

If you are looking for places to visit near Southampton please take a drive out to Wickham. It's a lovely village with lovely unique shops, local walks and water meadows. And please pop into my gift shop to say hello - sorry for the plug but business is tough! It would be great to meet you all.
Cathy
Oh thank you . We will try to get to your village

Am booked on the Ventura on 14th October. Paid with FCC. If it's cancelled ,then we'll use that for October 2022 cruise .
We've factored in excursions. Parking was, part of the incentive, and I've not paid much for the pre cruise hotel .Just a waiting game ,isn't it .
