  1. I would suggest calling even if it can be done via the cruise planner. I would also request an email confirming the upgrade from the CR on the phone and making sure you get that email before you hang up. then print it out and take it with you on your cruise. Then, when you get on board and no upgrade shows on your account you have some written proof of your purchase. In case you can't already tell, this is from personal experience.
  2. Knew it was coming. We got off on the 9th - at least it didn't come back on the cruise immediately after ours.
  3. My husband is a vegan. We haven't sailed Princess this year but it has always been our experience in the past that the Head Waiter for our area would come over every evening as we finished dinner with the next night's menu and he and my husband would come up with something for his dinner. I don't know if that's still the case, though. We're signed up for next year's World Cruise so I certainly hope so!!!!
  4. The Island Princess menu doesn't make sense if the V is Vegetarian. Just looking at the desserts - the sorbet is much more likely to be vegan than the cake, which would be more likely to have egg in it. Also, the three main courses are totally vegan , no dairy or egg in them at all. That's why I asked what the V was for.
  5. The Sanctuary is $30/daypp if you book the whole cruise so for a world cruise that would be $3300 per person, $6600 for a couple. That would pay for another cruise. I wonder if there was a further discount for booking the whole thing.
  6. Similar thing happened to the Feb. 15th, 2024 Equinox cruise except it's two days in Aruba instead of Bonaire. I just checked and it is also still called a "9 night Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao cruise". I feel badly for the private tour operators. *
  7. Enjoy! I took the cash, brought it home, put it in the checking account and paid the Amex bill. And now we have some miles towards airfare for the next trip.
  8. it's so sad that the people who answer the phones at Celebrity are so misinformed. Try the famous HUCA (Hang up call again) Any OBC that you outright purchase is refundable. I am not telling you something I heard - I am speaking from recent experience. Because of this offer we purchased OBC. Once on the cruise I went to the casino to see about getting chips with that money and was told I'd be charged 5% so we waited until the last full day of the cruise and went to Guest Services and got the money out in cash. FWIW - We also had non refundable OBC from booking this cruise while onboard a different cruise - we made sure to spend that money (upgraded the drink package, Sushi on 5, etc.) Once again - this is from recent personal experience - not hearsay! EDIT: Just to make sure - you are buying OBC for a cruise you already have booked -correct? Not just random money for the future. *
  9. WOW! We're also looking at Regent after friends switched over last year. But the fact that you're obviously a really loyal Celebrity passenger (Zenith!) says a lot! Enjoy your cruise - I know you will!
  10. On one of our recent cruises (Equinox) there was a guy who was sitting at one of the smoking tables at the Mast Bar on deck 14 who opined LOUDLY on his political views for over an hour -- and we were sitting VERY far away almost at the entrance to the Sky Lounge and could clearly hear every word. I finally just got up and went to our balcony for some peace and quiet. So I'll take a child talking or playing near me over that any day! (But I'm not comparing that to teenagers doing mischief in the halls in the middle of the night which is a different story - and not something we've ever personally encountered) *
  11. To everyone critical of @May B - If you read the whole thread I think you'll find that maybe, just maybe, she was more frustrated with Mr. B than with the sanitizer fill up time and came on here as a tongue in cheek lighthearted try at humor.
  12. I see you have "early" clicked. Is that possibly the lunch menu? Did you try clicking on "late"?
  13. The loud and shouting between tables was definitely happening in Blu this past February. Even the waiters commented that they had never seen that before. (And hopefully never again)
  14. We had a small bottle of hand sanitizer in our cabin bathroom when we boarded. Couldn't he just use that? (Or wash hands in the closest bathroom)
  15. @wallysdtr The crew on the Equinox were the best!!!! Adrian has a new partner, Armandt - you'll love him, too!!! *
  16. We had the same question and it seems, yes, if you get it from the casino they will charge 5%. Non-refundable OBC is used first (and also disappears at the end of the cruise if not used on board). Sometimes OBC from the travel agent is refundable, sometimes not. Check your account when you board. The problem with doing this is that if you book another cruise while on board they will charge it to the credit card on file. Our Amex is our oldest and most steady card so we like future cruise deposits to be on it. That way if we cancel we know the deposit won't get lost on a cancelled card.
  17. We were on the Equinox in Aqua for all of February and the beginning of March. Blu is as wonderful as always - the service AND the food. Ask for Sabar and Bryan and you will be spoiled to death. (Although actually ALL of the waitstaff in Blu are wonderful!) Also look for Lilian - an absolutely adorable junior waiter who we fell in love with. Tell them all that Karen and Allan miss them so much. If you get a chance could you stop by the World Class Bar and see how Adrian is. We spent 6 weeks of evenings with him but the very last day of our last cruise he was iill. Hoping he's better! (He's a fabulous mixologist!!!) And yes, Jayson and Ruth in al Bacio are also wonderful.
  18. I actually had that discussion with a bartender after the incident of the "gentleman in only his bathrobe" I mentioned earlier in this thread. He was obviously extremely inebriated and I asked about calling security. I was told that is only done if his behavior had been threatening, etc. The crew have training on when to take action and when it's not necessary.
  19. There were actually 3 different kinds. We booked with an American Express card so got a bottle because of that at the beginning of each cruise also. (8 bottles in total - most of which we gave to the steward) I don't know which bottles were for what reason . The only one I remember was Celebrity Cellars Chardonnay Elegance. We actually drank a couple of those and they were pretty good for what I guess is an inexpensive wine. I put the bottle in the frig - we never asked for ice and so had an empty ice bucket.
  20. First of all, we sailed on the Equinox and noticed similar things to what you experienced (and it was not during spring break) so it's not the E class. I don't think Celebrity is actually courting this crowd but something is attracting them. The only thing that rang true to me in this long thread was that this winter's cruises dropped in price significantly at one point and maybe this attracted people who hadn't cruised before and thought they'd try it out and had different expectations of what constitutes a good vacation. *
  21. Sorry!!! I like the canapes because I don't eat lunch but by 4 or 5 when we go back to the cabin to shower for dinner I'm just a little hungry and they are a perfect small snack.
  22. We were on the Equinox for all of February and the beginning of March in Aqua. We had the bubbly (in our case white wine) at the beginning of all 4 cruises and the canapes every day. Our wonderful steward asked me if I wanted to switch to fresh fruit on the third cruise as a change and at the beginning of the fourth cruise he said he noticed we didn't eat much of the fruit so would we like to switch back to the normal canapes. Oh and we got 2 bottles of water every day until I told him to stop as we had a drink package and could easily get it at any bar. You had a bad room steward - sorry!!! *
  23. I will post a couple of examples from our February cruises that tell me it's not the same old Celebrity. One evening as we were sitting at the World Class Bar an older EXTREMELY inebriated "gentleman" approached the bar in nothing but his bathrobe (it wasn't totally closed so it was obvious that was all he wore). He wanted a double shot of some liquor they don't have so the bartender politely directed him to the Ensemble Bar where they carried his drink. The "gentleman" then proceeded to walk through the central hall to the Ensemble, got his drink and walked back down the hall (I watched from the side of the World Class) to the elevator. That's just a funny story but the next one I find horrifying. We became friendly with a young, gay couple who related to us that the day before someone approached them and said "What are YOU doing on here?" I really can't imagine that happening on the Celebrity I sailed in the past.
