Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Oh, the irony! I bet some on this thread cheered for the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
  2. As noted above, we (Feb 3 Sky) were also notified last night at 11:13 PM that MB was a no go. Our excursion was cancelled (and no refund yet) but we found a viator tour out of MB this morning. It's just a 15-17 minute transit from the Coxen pier to MB so we will adjust accordingly. I agree it is ridiculous that Princess likely knew weeks ago this conflict existed and said nothing until now.
  3. I did want to make one other comment on this topic to agree with several folks here. My wife seldom gets an opportunity to dress up and so I go all in with a tux b/c she has such a great time. We cruise pretty often and I guess 10% or so of the men wear a tux and prob over 60% wear jackets (my very unscientific guess!).
  4. Respectfully disagree. The entire ship's leadership attended our recent Nov cruise, and the officers took turns with the passengers. For those who don't cruise very much, this is a wonderful experience.
  5. Update- It seems to only immediately tiimeout when I select the check-in button.....
  6. We have been cruising for some 20+ years on three different lines and some 15 ships. In reading this review and comments, it strikes me that folks are looking for faults/problems and need to quit complaining so much. All cruise lines have issues and their ability to attract staff is impacted by what's going on in society just as much as we are. We need to stop our whining and cut them some slack. Or go rent a beach condo.
  7. At sea in the Med you will be fine. There are two US Carrier Battle Groups (one there, one on the way) in the eastern Med so it's a very safe place. They control the sea and air for the entire area. The risk here is visiting certain countries; specifically anywhere on the African continent, Israel, and any muslim dominated countries such as Turkey, Syria, Lebanon etc should be avoided.
  8. It's been my experience that it varies wildly between cruises and ships. Recommend a nice walk around the ship when you get onboard.
  9. I followed up with Princess with a medallion question yesterday morning, during which I asked about the website issues. I got a lot of silence and what limited responses I hear (after they were super nice about answering my original question) led me to believe there is a serious software problem that cannot be easily fixed. I'm not a code guy but know enough to sense this is a problem not going away soon. We love Princess but they have got to get their act together.
  10. I did a quick search here and didn't see a related topic. I noticed news reports over the weekend discussing the pending UPS strike on July 31st, but it hit me when I received my Princess medallion shipping notice this morning. Yep, the medallions are coming from California via UPS. You can get a replacement at your respective port of departure, but it slows everything down some. https://apnews.com/article/ups-strike-teamsters-biden-delivery-cb586d2f6160a92cda9318d6290ac8ea
  11. We had the same problem. We deleted/reloaded the App and it started working for us.
  12. Stop poisoning us with smoking! Ok, I get it. Drunks who blow cash in the casino also like to smoke. I'm sure the degenerate gamblers will still come in a smoke free environment. SO STOP IT!!!!
  13. If ya drop $3k on a cruise, a few bucks for corkage is nothing. #RayGoff #rocksnglasshouses
  14. My wife has correctly pointed out (fairly often lol) that I've spent way too much money on wine over the years. Rest assured the vast majority of ship-board wines are under $20 in the grocery store. So if you like a good wine while onboard, swing by a local shop before embarkation and pick up a couple bottles.
