  1. That's such good news! We've been to Pisa on another cruise and just wanted to spend as much time in Florence as possible. How early were you able to get to the train station? Thanks!!
  2. Does NCL have a shuttle from the port in Livorno to the train station? It's just the 2 of us and I've heard it can be difficult to get a taxi to the train station. If there is a shuttle, do we need to reserve ahead of time? Thanks in advance for any info!
  3. Royalcruz...you took the words right out of my mouth!!
  4. Also in the hotel is Todd English's Da Campo Osteria.....excellent italian food!
  5. If you're not renting a car, you really don't have any other choice than taking a taxi. Unfortunately, south florida doesn't have much of a public transportation system. It's about a 20-30 minute drive, depending on traffic.
  6. But Sawgrass is an easier drive being pretty much all highway, rather than city street all the way to Aventura. Hi Dan, Aventura is a straight shot on I-95 south...right to Ives Dairy Road.... I hope you're not taking US-1 the whole way?
  7. I believe Avis also opened in the Hyatt Pier 66 across the street from the port...
  8. The closest mall is the Galleria on sunrise blvd..just over the bridge from the beach. But there's no movie theater.... The movie theater would be at Oakwood Plaza or Coral Ridge Mall (both big outdoor shopping centers, not malls). About a 1/2 hour drive is Aventura Mall, which has EVERYTHING!!
  9. Rocco's Tacos is supposed to be opening around presidents day...keeping our fingers crossed!
  10. Harry Potter at Universal is amazing.....you'll love it! Make sure you try the butterbeer!! it'll be crowded in april, but since you'll be there on a weekday you should have a little less of a crowd. Universal also sells a front of line pass, although i can't remember what it costs. You can check it out on the website.. 95 is not a toll road, but it's so out of your way from the theme parks. Save yourself the aggravation and pay the tolls on the turnpike. It's such an easy drive.....You can switch over to 95 in Ft Pierce and save a bit of money.
  11. if you're looking for convenience to the port, then the suggestions on 17th street causeway are great. But if you're looking to be in 'the heart of the happenings' you'll want to be on the beach, or at the riverside hotel on las olas...
  12. if you give me some names, I'd be more than happy to give you some scoop! :D you might also want to check out southfloridadines.com for 50% off restaurant deals.....
  13. I just wanted to clarify......regarding the hotels that aren't right on the beach, it's because A1A is between the hotels and the beach. Nothing is on the other side. So they're as close to the beach as you can get!
