After 260+ nights on Regent, we have had one disappointing (for many reasons) Regent cruise—December 2021, Mariner Panama Canal. This was Mariner’s first cruise after reopening and it had at least one senior management person in common with the latter part of the 2023 world cruise. At that time I noted rust and mold around our veranda door and rust in some areas of the suite. Well, we board Mariner on Tuesday for 22 days and will celebrate our 50th anniversary while on board. I am concerned but look forward to a good experience with tempered expectations.

We were on her last November and didn't notice any issues in our cabin.

Can I jump in here and ask a question as we will be on our first Regent cruise in August as well? Can we drop our carry on luggage in the cabin when we board even though it’s not ready yet? Is there such a thing as a sea pass card in Regent? Do we pick that up at the cabin as well?

You can drop off your carry on luggage at a secure check-in room on board.

For our 25th anniversary we had a carrot cake in Prime 7 and were serenaded by Ray and Nature's Rhythm.  For our 30th anniversary we had a carrot cake in Prime 7 and were serenaded by Irina and two waiters.  We have celebrated six anniversaries onboard and have 31st and 32nd already booked.

We celebrated three for our 50th we got a nice desert that had Happy birthday on it. 😒

Since you put in a reservation number for your guest, I assume you answered the question about sharing a table in the negative. If you said you wanted to share a table, your guest will not be in your reservation.

Go to your account and click on the dining reservation link. Check the reservation you made and if your Guest is included on the reservation, his or her name will appear.

I did not I had shared clicked. I just tried leaving it not share. Is that what you want?

As DaveFr pointed out above, if you elect to "share" a table, that means you will be seated with other guests that also wanted to "share" their table. If you wish to invite specific people, the "share" option should not be checked.

I tried that last night, we have not gotten a email from Regent yet.

I don't recall receiving a message that I haven't replied to, and just checked my junk mail and it isn't there either, so please do resend it. I definitely reply to emails and acknowledge them when the come in as soon as I read them, so after you send if you don't hear form me relatively quickly please do let me know here.

Mike this has to do with Dining Reservations. We want to share a table I put in the reservation # for our guest but we can't tell if the entry took.  The email shows the reservation but no info about the guest.

I've traveled with my work laptop before and never locked it up.  Never had any issues in over a decade of cruises.

My guess is that a work laptop would be a bit on the larger size (I know mine is) and I don't think it would fit.  If you're just trying to meet company policy, maybe a cable loop lock would suffice?

We've never used the safe getting close to 200 days on board.

We are embarking on Explorer on the 19th from San Diego.   Regent plans to do a rapid test prior to boarding but encourages testing prior to leaving home.  We are leaving home on the 13th and plan to get a PCR test 48-72 hours before our flight (the timing window keeps changing).  I want to retest in California and regent has provided links to travel clinics.  Is there any reason why we can’t go to CVS or Walgreens?  My fear is testing positive pier side with an antigen test.  Am I overthinking this?

We boarded the Explorer in Nov did the test before and Regent did not ask for the results!

Lines to get tested and sign in were horrific. 2.5 hours start to finish. Cooking classes cancelled. Some excursions cancelled. Premium internet slow...regular internet is worse. Good news is that it is Wonderful to be back...the crew is doing everything they can to make this a wonderful experience. If you are on the fence get off it and come back as soon as you can. Will answer any questions i can...
