I vote for the Gem. I did a Med cruise several years ago on the Gem. It’s a nice size, nice ship.

If you share with another family at the same time, your share would certainly come down. I think they do have shared tours but I don’t know about transfers.
Also, if you message them, you might get a better deal with a round trip.
I know, its so expensive, and you’re brave to travel with the babies! Actually, I’m jealous!I know you’ll have a wonderful trip!

Hi,
I haven’t used them recently, but Rome in limo worked well for me years ago. They have an excellent rating on Tripadvisor and they offer transfers and lots of tours also. They do a lot of cruise business. Look them up on google and go to their website. They have lots of choices, and may have what you need.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for that info. I hadn’t thought of that, so I’ll let them know. They will be there Oct 23-31, hopefully before things close up. I know they are planning to go to Mykonos, among others, so that is great advice.
Thanks,Joan

Thanks! I’ll pass that along!

Hi,
I’ve only visited Greece with a cruise, so I’ve never had to use the ferry system to get around the islands. I have friends going next month who are not on a cruise but are planning to use the ferry system. They asked me for advice on buying tickets ahead of time or waiting and buying tickets once there. Any advice on this? Also, any other tips would be appreciated!
Thanks! -
Hi,
Just wondered if anyone felt that their studio cabin was particularly loud. (Either deck). From deck plans, I can’t tell where entrances to the lounge are. And does the cabin open in the interior corridor, or, in some cases, open across the hall from the balcony cabins?
Also, did you enjoy the studio cabin?
I’m trying to decide. Thanks for your help!

i am getting overwhelmed researching Alaska cruises. Do any of you have strong feelings about choosing northbound or southbound cruises (pros or cons) ? Also, any ships to avoid? Or consider?
Thanks for any advice!

Thanks to all with all the great advice! We are both the same level, and the transactions were done at the same time. (By the same pvp). And it showed that we were linked. That's why we couldn't figure out what happened. But it has been fixed now! Thanks to all!

Good to know! I had never heard of this happening to someone. Glad yours worked out!
Thanks for answering!

Thank all of you so much for all the info. Will try the maitreD. Unfortunately, the pvp said she can't get it changed. (We tried)

Hi all,
I will be on the Dream with a couple of friends soon. We made reservations at the same time and linked them. Originally both cabins were waitlisted for our dining request, then I received our requested time. They (party of 2) are still waitlisted, even though we're still linked. Carnival says they'll find out their dining time at the pier.
Has anyone ever had this happen, linked reservations not being given the same dining? (That's why we linked!). And what happened if this happened to you?
Thanks!

Hi, all,
Wondering if there are atms at the airport (FCO). I'm considering arriving on a Sunday when many things are closed, but I'd need access to Euros quickly. I have previously used an atm inside a post office (felt very secure) but it might not be accessable on a Sunday.
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Yes, Wet Wendy's has some great (and huge) margaritas!

Yes, they did wait a while to fill up the bus! I think they had a list, but I don't remember. It was also a fairly long walk to get to the bus, but a Carnival rep walked me there, not hard to find.

I used the Carnival transfer from airport(MSY) to port (Dream) and also the return trip. (it's been a year.) I was surprised that we made a couple of stops at hotels along the way. So it took longer than I anticipated to get to the port.
However, after the cruise we went straight to the airport. If anyone was dropped off somewhere else, it was after the airport.
Taxi might work better for 2 or more.

Should the coffee card be purchased online (precruise) or is it only available once on board? (sorry if this has been asked, I'm new to Princess). Thanks!
-
Thanks, Coralc.
No, there is no hotel involved. But the shuttle sounds great back to the airport. Do you recommend any particular one?
-
Thanks to all. Looks like a cab, and I'll try to meet someone on CC who's interested in sharing. Thanks for all the good ideas!

Thanks to all for the info.! A limo would certainly be fun, but unfortunately, I am a solo traveler, and that would be a little excessive! I guess a taxi is my best choice. I don't mind sharing a shuttle or something, just didn't want to stop at numerous hotels!
Thanks!

Has anyone used the transfers to/from the port to the airport? Does it make multiple stops at hotels? I used a Carnival transfer that made stops, and would not use that service again. I realize that a taxi is faster, but do like the guarantee when booking with the cruiseline. Thanks!

But I think the itinerary should guide your decision.
