  1. Doesn't answer the question but the policy in the US is yes you can use your own car if it's at the port or rent a car for direct travel home. Just no public transportation. Again doesn't answer what will be allowed in Germany/Netherlands.
  2. Whatever Celebrity promotion of the day is the one additional offer.
  3. Bad example as that is not allowed under the PVSA unless that sailing happened to go to Aruba or Cartagena first.🙂
  4. Plus you can just pull the results up on the Navica app and show it if necessary. I agree with others that having paper copies off all the crap you have to show to checkin is quicker.
  5. This is the standard schedule of OBC they have been offering for booking onboard for the past several years. I believe they are currently doubling it if you book a 2022 sailing. This is in addition to the standard booking promos that seem to be changing daily lately.
  6. @scottjeanne Is Brazil side of the falls correct? I thought it was Argentina.
  7. No expert but I think it depends if you are primarily doing Argentina side or Brazil side. We are staying on Argentina side so using IGR.
  8. The current onboard policy is if you are designated a close contact during any leg of the sailing you have to disembark at the end of that leg regardless of how you test. Providing you cooperate with their protocols I don't see any way Celebrity would not refund your subsequent legs regardless of the current covid policy. They would want to avoid a PR issue.
  9. Celebrity Equinox August 8. There have been several other posts on the Celebrity boards with first hand accounts. It has been happening pretty regularly. Not every sailing but it's not an unusual event. As I have said I have been on 4 b2b since July and thankfully has not happened to me.
  10. As far as medical center fees are concerned I believe they will give you a complementary exam if you report with symptoms consistent with covid. I would imagine the passenger with the $3000 medical bill for sinus infection agreed to some sort of treatment and was billed accordingly. Yes if it was covid there should have been no cost under the current policy. I agree with others. That's what medical insurance is for. My insurance doesn't cover me outside the US that's why I have a separate annual travel policy with high limits.
  11. It probably won't work for long given all these posts. Celebrity doesn't intend for you to be able to cash out OBCN and has been closing the loopholes for several years. Some have been lucky that they just haven't been that good at it.
  12. I've used these over 6 years https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009PGOCUE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I just bought some more of these cheaper ones and they seem ok. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011S5GO6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  13. Cabin location, higher decks generally.
  14. I also believe they have a target revenue target on some cabins and if an early bid meets the required revenue it can be awarded early. I suspect you placed a fairly strong bid. Just my opinion not based on any facts.
  15. So call and cancel! While it could be your reservation is in transition somehow but based on posts here Celebrity has demonstrated several times they do something different than the letter states. I wouldn't leave it to chance.
  16. They seemed to change from announcing exact numbers to only approximate percentages in January. I suspect it was something to do with the change from the original CDC conditional sail order and the requirements of the new optional instructions which took effect in mid January.
  17. I personally know of 2 groups. I solo and 1 couple who were not allowed to continue on the second leg of their back to back after being identified as close contact and testing negative. The ship uses an interview and seapass data to identify the patterns of the person testing positive then uses video and facial recognition to identify those "random" passenger whom the target passenger was in close contact with. They then contact your stateroom, watch your seapass activity and send security with photo searching the ship to find you to test. I have seen security with photos many times walking around the ship looking for people. Facts learned onboard 9 Celebrity sailings July through 2 weeks ago.
  18. No it will not invalidate your bid. You can modify or cancel your bit if you would like.
  19. Jim I know you like to provide lots of details for your fellow CC readers. I wonder if you could find out anywhere regarding taking these tests via emed.com onboard the following: Do you need a WiFi package to take the test (It would be nice if the would open the firewall to this site like they do with celebrity.com If you need a package will it work with surf/basic or do you need stream/premium I guess CC minutes would work as well as they are stream/premium
  20. In Jim and Iain live post he just posed that they announced they had tests for sale at Guest Relations. I believe the disembark tomorrow. I would expect you would buy them they day before and could use the ships wifi to do it. Might need the stream package or CC stream minutes. It would be nice if they opened that site for free access.
  21. My only point was that I personally found that the HD's statement had some merit to me. Possibly something that was learned with experience and wasn't though of in the office buildings?? Would make some sense why ones in quarantine can be in balcony but if test positive are moved to deck 3. I believe crew who are positive are put on deck 3 as well.
  22. B2B sailings on the same ship no charge. B2B on ships in the RCG family no charge. B2B with another brand there is a charge.
  23. I believe it was @jetblue in his post documenting his experience who said the Hotel Director stated the issue with balconies was due to pressurization. While I understand that some Celebrity ships have been using balcony cabins, and it's definitely more desirable than inside or oceanview cabins this does make some sense to me. Just last week on Constellation I was walking down the hallway and noticed the wind coming from the closed doors on at least 2 cabins on the hallway. It was clear to me that the balcony doors were open in those cabins. (nothing to do with quarantine, just people enjoying the balcony). So the HD's explanation does make some sense to me. Not that it makes an OV any more palatable.
