  1. I have an I-phone 5 and last year just used it to take pictures and so I think I remember I just put it on airplane mode and didn't use it for anything else and incurred no charges. Or do I have to turn WiFi off? This time I want to be able to receive and send text messages (Verizon) so do I have to do something different? Sorry, getting old I guess, this stuff is getting ahead of me.

  2. Thanks for the review. Just started considering Summit for a Jan-Feb 2015 cruise. (as in just planted the seed in husbands head)

I am also disappointed that the pools close so early on Celebrity. When sailing on RCCL we would always go for a swim after dinner to get a little exercise-not sure but think the one stayed open until 11. On our first Celebrity cruise my sister and I got all ready to swim and went to pool and they were closing it at 8:30.

  3. We are also just back from this sailing. We also had a rocky start but none due to Celebrity. Our Sunday flight was cancelled by the weather in DC and alternative flights that were offered got us to port in time but with no luggage. We opted to fly to Cayman and meet up with the ship there. We tendered to the ship all of our luggage with the help of another passenger and tender staff, embarked and got our sea passes and started our cruise. The documentation officer was so nice and made the process seemless.

The ship, staff and the majority of the passengers were great. There are always an few people that complain more, and act poorly and thankful that they are in the minority.

We cannot comment on the excursions as we booked independent tours, a couple not so great ones this trip...

All in all, it was a great cruise in spite of the weather!

Glad to hear that all went well after your original flight problems. I was certainly waiting to hear that all went well for you. Especially since you were joining the ship at Grand Cayman-a tender port.

  4. We are booked in Aqua and last cruise was in Aqua and maybe that's where I am remembering slippers that didn't look comfortable-the loofa insides. Actually looking forward to getting more lip balm as I have almost used up both of ours. Told DH we had to go on another cruise because I was out of lip balm!

  5. Wondering if robes and slippers are provided in the room. I was on 2 Celebrity cruises in the last two years and can't remember the slippers. (I sit here writing this wearing my Royal Caribbean slippers) I think I remember slippers but didn't like the looks of them so never even opened them, but not sure. Need new ones as these are just about worn out!

  6. Does the place have an actual name? I had read about this place on another thread (0r an earlier posting of yours?) and am excited that you bring it up. (I forgot which port it was) Don't mean to be dense but could you give more directions? Is it outside the port area--if we walk which way do we go? Or are you meaning that it is a really long walk from ship to end of pier and to just go there?

    Thanks

  7. Thanks. That's why I will have their printed email with me.

    As said CBP not withstanding.

I am hoping that you will also have the notarized permission slip.

Officials and authorities will not care about an email from Celebrity.

As another poster said-hate to be left at the port because of a piece of paper.

  8. On Silhouette last year there were 8 of us and we rented 2 of them and I believe we could have used just one because of the fact that not everyone is there all the time. It works out that people are coming and going all day. If you have looked at the pictures of them- they would seat maybe 6 at a time using the footstool as a seat.

We really enjoyed having the Alcove. It worked out great as a meeting place and we didn't have to worry about "chair hogs". There will be 4 of us on the "sisters only" Reflection cruise and we have reserved one for the whole cruise.

  9. We did Tulum as a ships tour many years ago with Carnival when the ship stopped and dropped us off to a tender boat. The tour was good and interesting( the kids-ages 11-9-8-6) hated it. To this day 15 years later they still talk about it, so I guess it did leave a lasting impression. The ride on the ferry to join the ship in Cozumel was another thing!! I thought we were going to die! It was a very rough day on the water with huge waves and most of us were seasick. Which means it also took forever to get there.

  10. I am so relieved! Our beverage package with the upgrade to premium finally shows up on our reservation on the Celebrity web site. We got the 123 Go the second week of the promotion. This past Tuesday we contacted our TA and "bugged" him about it and lo and behold it was added to our cruise add-ons Thursday. We were just getting a little concerned as we sail in 16 days. And as my husband said we don't want to be on board with nothing and have them say to take it up with the TA when you get OFF the ship!

  11. All I can think of- is that Celebrity must be filling up ships! We were able to get the beverage package for our sailing next month and have just booked 11 nights on Equinox for next January with the upgrade to premium package. We are also looking at a "Sisters Cruise" for next year and would be 4 of us in a Suite. My question is are all 4 eligible for the free beverage package or would 2 have to pay? Maybe this question has come up in the previous pages and I missed it.

  12. Don't know why so much negativity towards Jamaica/Falmouth....been there several times and have had a great day each time....just plan an excursion for the day and you will have a wonderful time.

Our most memorable excursion that we have done on ANY cruise was the horseback ride in the ocean. Think it is called Chuka Cove? Our family did this 3 times, if I remember correctly. Starting when one of the little ones was 6 ( she did slip off the horse in the water and the guide pulled her onto his horse with him) If we talk about Jamaica, this excursion always comes up!!!

Second is Dunns River Falls, which if you have never done this-you must do at least once.

Realizing though that both of these would depend on your level of activity.

  13. Hey there...we were on the Eclipse with you and your hubby last year. December i think. we were up in the rear bar the morning the ship was to leave, and I think my wife and I had a drink with you. We just booked the feb 24 cruise on the Silhouette. Should be fun. We went on the Allure of the Seas in march with all of our teens and had a blast.

We will be joining you on Silhouette on Feb. 24th. Four sisters and one "adopted" sister and all the husbands. Adopted the new sister on Royal Carribean last Jan. We all got our beverage packeges on the discount-love those packages!
